I was braced for a weekend surcharge that never showed up on the bill. I mentioned the second bathroom had been draining slow and he looked at it and told me not to spend money on it yet, it was fine. Three months on he was right about that too. He also told me to keep a cheap auger in the garage for next time and showed me on his phone exactly which one to buy. Great service!

I suspect it was too much of a challenge for them to solve quickly (since I had already received an opinion that a large portion of my system would need to be re-piped), so foul language and pitching a fit was their easiest solution. There are plenty of reputable HVAC businesses in the area, so I would caution the reader strongly before choosing this one.

I had purchased a complete heating system including indirect water heater from Boucher Energy…read more They tried to sell me an annual service contract but it was too expensive. One day I noticed my water tank had a slow leak. I contacted Boucher Energy since the tank had a lifetime warranty. They were very rude over the phone commenting on how I did not have an annual service contract and had not purchased anything from them in years. They scheduled a technician to come out 2 weeks later and look at the leak. The day of the appointment it was snowing. There was only an inch of snow on the ground. Boucher called me to cancel my appointment due to the weather. Who doesn't work when there is only 1 inch of snow on the ground? At that point, the leak had gotten worse and I had to put several towels down daily to absorb the leaking water. I was told by Tina that the service manager would come out the following week to personally inspect the water tank. The day he was scheduled to arrive, he never showed up or called. The following day he calls me and says I can just send him pictures of the leak. What a joke. It's now 3 weeks since I first called them and the leak keeps getting worse. Now they tell me that all they needed are pictures of the leak. I send them the pictures and they order the replacement tank. When the tank comes in, they call me to schedule installation. A few days before they are scheduled to come out and replace the tank, the leak is so bad that I have to put 5 towels down every 3 hours to absorb the water. I email the service manager Monday morning to see if they can come out right away so the tank doesn't burst and flood my finished basement. Below is his email reply. Good Morning, Unfortunately, I do not have any availability until Friday, the date of the installation. Thank you Stephen Cammuso Service Manager Boucher Energy Systems88 Millville St. Mendon, MA 01756 Office (508)473-6648 Fax (508)634-3509 The technicians that finally came out on Friday and replaced my tank said that the corrosion was so severe and that they are surprised that the tank didn't let go and flood my basement. I would never ever use Boucher Energy again. They are the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Rude, greedy and unprofessional.

Installations are great but service is expensive. Last two service calls marked up prices of parts…read moreby a factor of 3 to 6. A $65 part was billed at nearly $400 and sales tax was charged on that amount. The first service charge (for a thermostat) was changed when I questioned it but the second was not. Service call is billed at $165 if over 15 miles, so no excuse for extreme parts markup.

I tried them originally through their introductory furnace inspection. They came out and inspected…read morethe furnace, and said the furnace was fine but our thermostat was broken and they'd replace it for $300. I told them I would do it myself, and reinstalled the original thermostat, which worked fine. 2 months later (in December) the furnace stopped. I called them, they said they would try to get here that day. We waited all day with no response. They came the day after and said they needed to order a part, but could not tell us when it would arrive. Into the weekend, after 2 full days without heat, they said to get heat on the weekend would cost $1200, or $700 if we waited until Monday or Tuesday. We chucked them and called another company. That company said this was a common problem and should have been caught in the inspection. They could come on the weekend to do it for $1000, or do it on Monday for $500. I shouldn't have called back after the thermostat issue, but I sure won't call again, and recommend anyone else also look elsewhere

The tech showed up at 2:30PM, and issued a 'sorry, I'm late' upon entering. No reason for being 3 1/2 hours late and no prior phone call to inform me he was running behind schedule. He was let in, performed his so-called HVAC maintenance and was out within 15 minutes. I was disappointed with the lack of 'maintenance' that was actually done. He handed me a printout telling me my CO levels were 8% and that low number was good, again, without explanation. No cleaning out the unit, no changing the filter, not much 'maintenance' was actually performed. Cost of 15 minute in out service -- $225. I would not recommend this unprofessional company for HVAC service. Please look elsewhere for your HVAC needs.
