Last spring, I started physical therapy at EDGE PT after a fall that led to a rotator cuff injury. I appreciated the knowledge and care of my physical therapist, Brian, for the time that I spent in physical therapy, before an MRI led to a surgical consult, and it became apparent that physical therapy wasn't going to be sufficient for my shoulder, and that surgery was in my future. The office staff is horrendous! My husband had an appointment with this office, mind you the office date originally given was not the day they expected him. He works grave shift and was just getting ready to sleep. His phone rang but he let it go to voicemail. He decided to listen to his voicemail just in case it was something important and lo and behold. It was his courtesy call saying that he had an appointment 10 minutes ago and if he didn't make it, they were going to charge him $150. Mind you there was no courtesy call at anytime prior to this call letting him know that he had an appointment. He was referred to this office by an orthopedist that he saw. This office didn't even bother to ask what my husband's insurance was, and if this appointment was covered by his insurance. They wanted to charge him $150.00 for a no show. On the paperwork that everyone has to fill out when you go to a new office it clearly states that late cancellation and no-show is a $50 charge so what exactly are they doing with that extra hundred dollars? It seems a little shady. And no there was no misunderstanding about the amount they wanted to charge. People come here to feel better. How can people trust a business that conducts themselves in such a manner. read more

I never was seen by the owner, and was excited to be treated there. I had a referral from my doctor to see Eric, but was seen by Brian. Nice place, friendly, but I was not happy with my care. I was diagnosed with tight muscles and sacro tightness and was treated with a little heat and the electric stem on my lower back. I was then given stretching exercises. The PT would walk off and left me there doing my stretches. After 5 visits of doing the same thing, we forgot to do one certain stretch and he said oh no big deal, we'll do it next week. I wasn't given any instructions as to how Many times I should do these at home. I finally asked and was told, oh two or three times. I am now seeing someone else in Napa read more

I have been recovering from foot surgery and have been going to this establishment for 4 months for physical therapy. It's a super clean, welcoming environment. I have an acute lumbar strain. My insurance is contracted with Edge. The front office was kind and easy to schedule with. My PT was nice and knowledgeable. However, I don't like the flow of this office. There is not enough time spent with the patient and they have two patients overlapping. I started with heat and tens unit *which I was already doing at home* followed my a couple of minutes of trigger point release and then given two exercises to do at home. Then, rushed out the door. I went for about two weeks and showed no improvement. So, I changed to a private therapist that offered ultrasound therapy, quite a bit of time working on my back to release the muscle tensions and then several more minutes on working with me with exercises, etc. It was night and day compared to the cattle call at Edge PT. So, bottom line, I would say if you are in an acute phase as I was, this is not the place to go to. If you just need some strengthening exercises and a turn and burn appointment, go for it. read more

I've been going to Edge PT for almost two months and I can easily say they've tremendously helped me. Dr. Campbell, especially, has helped me see and understand the problems with my knees that I hadn't even noticed before. I've had problems with both of my knees for a majority of my life and no doctor ever really told me how to fix it. However, since I started going to Edge physical therapy, I can actually feel the problems getting better and now I have almost no more pain in my knees anymore! Everyone who works there is so sweet and the atmosphere in the office is always relaxed and stress-free. Everybody goes out of their way to make you feel welcomed and Zayeni, who is one of the first faces you see when entering the office, already knew my name by my second visit. If I ever have any other physical therapy needs, I will absolutely be returning to Edge. Eric has an open concept approach to PT, and I believe they accept most insurance. Patients are seen in a large room with a handful of rooms reserved for PT assessment and cases that need privacy. The open concept is great for socializing and kept my PT sessions interesting. I just finished PT for a broken ankle, and what we think is arthritis in my thumbs. I was also seen in his office years ago and returned because of the treatment they provided on my neck and back. I'm definitely on the mend and learned a lot about how to strengthen and rehab my ankle and thumbs. You definitely have to commit to the process and follow instructions. PT is hard work and pretty much the old adage no pain no gain definitely applies here. Eric always answered all my questions and gave me lots to work on and think about. Hopefully I won't need to come back but if I ever need a PT this is where I'll cone. read more

I had a terrible fall recently and couldn't stand straight or bend over at all. Went to see Eric at his Physical Therapy place. Eric is amazing! The heat treatments are simply heavenly and the little stretches he had me do has already made a huge difference in my pain level and ability to move. After the first treatment there I'm already not taking the muscle relaxers and the pain meds are down to one a day. Eric really knows what he is doing and Scott who I met today seems really good too. The Best! Referred to me by Dr. David Guzman (Podiatrist). I have tendonitis on the top of my foot, near the top of my ankle. Unusual, yes! But after 5 sessions with them, I am 70% improved. A perfect combination of ultrasound, massage, exercise and electrotherapy. I'm scheduled for another 4-5 sessions...It will only get better from here! Highly recommend! read more

Best Experience EVER. When I tore my ACL & meniscus, I *dreaded* PT. I thought I'd hate it and that I'd feel self-conscious and that recovery would be torture. Eric and Scott are awesome. Friendly, comfortable and comforting, funny, and they know their stuff. My recovery has been right on track -- I'm making incredible progress -- and I actually look forward to going to PT (words I never EVER thought I'd hear myself say)! I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. They are just the best and it's clear that all the other patients at the practice agree. I've been to Eric and Scott for various sports related injuries- including ACL tear+ post-op rehab, for over twenty years. They are great. I'm a physician and have referred to them as well. They have always been prompt, professional and positive. PT is not easy- most of the work of PT is done at home- you ultimately help yourself heal. The therapists here don't listen to their patients. I complained numerous times that some of their equipment, like one they use for electrical shock therapy was not working but the only response I got was "I don't know what to tell you." I often reported to my therapist that the routine they had me follow made my symptoms worse and that my pain number was also increasing with their therapy but I was never taken seriously. When I asked how long it would take until I could get back to lifting weights I was told to "Never lift anything heavy ever again." even though the condition I was diagnosed with is something that people can make a full recovery from but the therapists here just kept saying I was burnt out and would never be the same. The staff working at the front desk were always very nice and helpful but I had to have my doctor recommended a different facility so that I could get proper treatment and make any progress. read more

Dr. Ewig was my physical therapist after I had ACL reconstructive surgery on my left knee. I previously had the same surgery on my right knee and my PT experience was awful. Not so with Dr. Ewig. His approach was thoughtful and caring. My therapy was tailored to fit my specific needs and my progress was carefully tracked. His staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive. The atmosphere was upbeat and congenial. I got full motion back quickly and gradually rebuilt the muscles supporting my knee. I have returned to rock climbing and am climbing like a 20 year old. The front office staff are totally unprofessional and no customer service. Doctor was great but you have to get through the uncomfortable check-in staff first. When I arrived for my very first visit they did not greet me at all. I stood there ackwardly while they ignored me and complained about some other patient before me. (Isn't there a privacy law against this?) after several minutes I finally interrupted them and asked if I need to check in or do any paperwork since I had never been here before. They handed me forms to fill out and then continued chit chatting. It was so uncomfortable. The Physical Therapist seemed great so I thought I would give this office another try. My second visit was the same, they didn't greet me at all and they were just chit chatting. This front office needs some supervision. I refuse to pay for care like this. I told my doctor I don't want to go back there and she referred me to the outpatient Queen PT site over by Synergy. They provided excellent customer service on the phone and in person. They were so friendly and kind and acted like patient care matters. EdgePT needs to focus some attention on that awful front desk staff before they lose more patients. read more

My experience with Eric Ewig and Scott has been excellent. They are focused and have a very clear understanding of their profession but also how to work with each particular patient. Some like to move along quicker than they should and others need to be pushed. Wouldn't suggest going here. It was not worth it in my opinion. I had a minor tear in my meniscus but was sent to p.t. I have had 4 other knee surgeries due to previous sport injuries and I kept being told negative things about the future of my knees. I understand what my future COULD look like but doesn't mean i have to be reminded of it every couple times i go there and especially since they were side remarks. Also i love working out, wasn't given and good recommendations of how to keep making myself stronger. The exercises also were "ok" and not something i couldn't do at home. Rarely had anyone working on my knee even though i had knotts around my knee/calf from being on crutches. I had to have surgery again (last week because it didn't heal) and it would be really convenient to go there but i want rehab that actually takes time for me. I write these reviews because i use them to pick the businesses i go to and hope it helps. 2 star and not 1 because staff like the front desk and assistants are nice. read more

I'm not a fragile flower. I actually find direct communication refreshing. However, when one is at a therapy session and asks for posture tips, "Why do you even care? Your ship has sailed!!" blasted back in a hostile tone is not exactly what one appreciates. And there were more weird comments like that sprinkled around. I left in tears. Unless you enjoy being told you're toast because *giant gasp* you're not a spring chicken (which is funny since Eric is over 40), I would avoid this edgy guy. And yes, those are his exact words. Since then they have helped me through a knee injury, knee replacement surgery, a broken elbow and are now working with me on my broken shoulder. When you go to see a physical therapist you never know what to expect. I have had well meaning therapists who have not been able to help me much and left me feeling that my continue pain was my own fault. I can happily say that Eric Ewig was NOT like that. He gave me plenty of personal attention and followed through at each session to see if I was actually improving. It has been a long course but I am 60% better from leg and back pain.
