However, I was very pleasantly surprised. While I always think it is important to have family advocates visiting and interceding for their family members, I found the staff attentive in a myriad of ways. Even though, this is a large facility, all the nursing staff seemed aware of my mother's fears, issues and likes and dislikes and were quite helpful. They genuinely seemed to appreciate her sweet personality. The physical therapy and occupational therapy department worked well with her and got her up to speed quickly. The facility itself has been recently remodeled and is pleasant to the eye. The facility did not smell like a "nursing home". The nursing aids were friendly although pulling extra shifts, due to being short staffed. The social worker and the head of nursing were very approachable. I think the recreational/dining area could use some work, and the food was often on the cold side, but my mother always ate everything and seemed to like it. All and all, my mother healed quickly and was not traumatized by being away from home during the Christmas holidays for a solid month. My family will be forever grateful to Napa Valley Care Center.

At first i thought well sometimes people have a bad day, NOPE. The vibe and attitude from staff here is atrocious, downright rotten. Walking in the pharmacy is in your face overloaded tons of people masked up coughing all over the place. Had to go upstairs a few times for optometry, occupational health and again its not a pleasant experience anywhere in this facility. Kaiser doesn't care about you or your well being. I asked the gal at the adult medicine counter downstairs about making an appointment with my doctor to get bloodwork checkup and her face response was like i pooped in her face. Basically told me get lost call the phone number on the card which is an incessant neverending phone tree. My premiums for basic coverage went up to $450/600 month and it increases as you age. She got pneumonia. 5 days before she left, I told them I thought she had pneumonia because of her labored and crackling sound in her breathing. A nurse listened to her lungs and said no it's just the flu. 5 days passed and she was heading downhill fast. The Kaiser doctor who doesn't not work at Napa post acute, examined her and said yes it's pneumonia and rushed her to Kaiser. Thank god she made it. 2 days before pneumonia, the nurse took her to the restroom, left her in there without locking the wheels to her wheelchair. She fell. There is a sign posted in the restroom saying not to forget to lock the wheels. How can a facility post a sign and the employees not comply? Negligence. I will add the pic in this post. Overall this place is dreary place that smells of urine and feces. The one bright spot was,I believe to be a CNA, named Cody. He was the best thing this place had to offer. Helpful and attentive when he was on shift. The nurses were dismissive and inattentive. The doctor only comes to see patients once a week. How can one doctor be expected to see every patient? Once a week isn't enough.

My partner likes to come to Napa to do the floating pods for relaxation. It's not really my thing…read moreso I'll drop her off and find somewhere to get a massage. This business will always come up on my search, but since we always decide to come out this way spur of the moment, there's usually no more appointment times available. This time we planned ahead and were able to sync up our appointments. Today I received a 90 minute deep tissue massage from Anna and left feeling extremely rejuvenated. She had me so relaxed that I fell into the deepest sleeps throughout the entire session. I remember waking up often, forgetting where I was. My muscles feel soft like jello and my mood is calm and zen. Anna had the warmest and kindest energy from the moment she greeted me. Even when I mentioned that the pressure was a little too much in a certain area, she was very receptive and adjusted the pressure immediately to my liking. I asked her name at the end of the session and she told me while giving me a warm hug. It was really sweet. Oh and the hot stones were a nice surprise!! There are 2 dedicated parking spots in the back of the building, through a very narrow driveway. And if you pay cash, the price is cheaper than paying with a card. Their online booking system is really easy to use and you can specify which therapist you want to book with. Will definitely be back when visiting Napa.
