I was introduced to Glee Dental by my mom last year when she had to receive some services. Let's just say, many of our family members are now patients there including myself. The staff is so kind, welcoming, professional, and are very transparent regarding any of the health information you should know about your oral care! Dr. O is the BEST in the game!! She educates you on what is going on and what she can/will do to help resolve many issues you may have. When receiving services, she and her Dental Hygienist/Assistants just make you feel comfortable while in the chair! May I add, she is the BEST at giving any sort of medication in the form of a shot; truly I barely feel a thing! I feel like that's important to note because I know a lot of people are afraid of needles. They encourage and educate you on what you can do at home to prevent any further damages or concerns to your oral health. I always feel like dentist are out to get you for your money BUT Dr. O do not! They truly just want to guide you to having the best oral care! After reading Acworth Dental's lowest google review from 4 years ago by Caitlin Conn, it was like Deja vu. My wife and I moved to the Governors Towne Club in Feb 2023 and after settling into the community we eventually began to select businesses and various medical and dental practices to serve our family needs. We landed on Acworth Dental and Dr. Daniel Lee for routine cleanings. My wife is fortunate enough to have little or no issues with her teeth. On the other hand, I have had a few fillings, a root canal and a few crowns along the way. I have been lucky enough to have had excellent dentists who have provided what I have considered only necessary and quality dental work. After reading the biology professor's, review of Acworth Dental I felt a very uncomfortable feeling come over me. I had the same experience of Dr. Lee putting a "watch" on a tooth. The next thing I know he recommends drilling out an old filling and crowning the tooth. The drilling went on for hours. And I left with a temporary that lasted for a day. I returned and they reinstalled the temporary. If I had researched Dr. Lee's reviews (Caitlin Conn's) I would have gotten a second opinion prior to allowing Dr Lee to crown my tooth. Dr. Lee took x-rays and pictures of my tooth to give me confidence that the crown was necessary. I am the type of person who confides in a healthcare provider until I feel I have a reason not to. Dr. Lee stated prior to starting the procedure that I had a "Hairline crack" in the identified tooth he had been "watching". He never mentioned or recommended having a 3-D CT Scan of the tooth to confirm the severity of the crack in my tooth. Since I obviously have no dental training, I had no idea that there was another type of X-ray available that Dr Lee had not and could not provide because he did not possess the proper equipment until after the procedure of drilling out my tooth and installing a ~$1,500.00 crown. After returning home from Acworth Dental and the numbing wearing off, I immediately felt sensitivity to cold water. Hoping it would eventually improve, I waited a couple of days before calling back for advice. Dr. Lee had his assistant recommend I go to an Endodontist outside of his practice for. 3-D Scan to determine if the tooth was cracked all the way through. I was horrified to say the least to find that he had drilled away a significant part of a tooth as well as left a sharp edge on an adjacent tooth with a gold crown without first confirming the full condition of the tooth. I was also told that the 3-D scan would reveal to the Endodontist whether or not the tooth was cracked beyond repair and identify if it would require a Root Canal or Extraction. I called the Endodontist to inquire about the cost and to make an appointment. They quoted over $300.00. I decided that before spending an additional $300+ on my newly crowned tooth, that I would speak with Dr. Lee at Acworth Dental to confirm that he would refund or apply the $1,500.00 I had just spent with him a week or two before, to the remedy cost of a Root Canal or Extraction and Implant if was so deemed necessary by the Endodontist. Each remedy procedure would be in great excess of the $1,500.00 I had already spent. When I sat down with Dr.Lee yesterday to discuss his decision not to conduct a 3-D Scan of my cracked tooth prior to the Crowning procedure he said he didn't normally do that. "Not the right answer" by my standards. I asked why he recommended it after the fact, and then he reversed his recommendation and stated he didn't think it was necessary and I would be wasting $300.00. I asked him if I had the 3-D CT Scan, and it was determined that the tooth required one of the aforementioned procedures to remedy the situation, would he refund or apply the $1,500 already paid. I believe he gambled with my tooth and pocket book to ensure I bought a crown. He stated he would NOT refund and he had to pay "his girls", lab, supplies etc. the most he would agree to do wold be a $300 Extraction if necessary in less than one year. That's only 20% of what I have already spent. It is my understanding that this practice does crowns "all day long every day"!

After all this, I was offered a plan of care at over $1400, mind you I have no symptoms and this is a routine cleaning that should be 100% covered. I just asked for my regular cleaning, and was told that they would not be doing that. After billing my insurance for the exam and X-rays! Very poor experience overall. They told me the results showed I had gingivitis and claimed they were "saving me from a heart attack," which was extremely alarming as I am a healthy 28-year-old with no history of dental problems. They insisted I needed a "deep cleaning" based solely on this test. I have never had dental issues in my life. I recently went to a different dentist for a second opinion, and they told me I have some of the best dental hygiene they have seen and that I absolutely do not have gingivitis. This practice, and Dr. Carissa Campos specifically, uses fear-based tactics and questionable testing to push unnecessary procedures. The experience felt dishonest and unethical. I have been going to West Cobb Dentistry for 3 plus years since moving out to Georgia from California. I miss Dr. Chase Hall but the new dentist they brought on, Dr. Couk is fantastic. You can tell he has extensive experience and is very knowledgeable. He will go in depth what your symptoms are, root cause of the problem. Then he will lay out remedies and options for you. Unlike some dentists that try to sell you more services and products, he is looking out for your best interest. Believe me, I have had a dentist try to sell me a teeth guard that costs several hundred dollars telling me I can lift more weights! And of course, the staff here is magnificent! Even if you have dental insurance, unfortunately the cost of getting dental treatment is not cheap. I have had to get two crowns so far and Kellie Guffin has been very helpful with the process. I think being informed and knowing what the cost impact is going to be is very important. And I must add that the hygienists are very thorough and gentle. For the world of me I could not get my husband to get his teeth cleaned as he does not like going to the dentist but I "tricked" him to going and got help from the staff No need to say he booked his next teeth cleaning appointment. When I arrived they had an incomplete file, no treatment plan and despite giving them my insurance info for them to verify a week prior they never did that. Instead when I show up she hands me a treatment plan that includes repairs for two crowns despite there only being one crown, (rather than change that she says "well just leave that on there in case insurance bounces is back. Uh no. She walks a way for a second and comes back and says I don't have any benefits left that I used them up at the Endo. No ma'am, those visits were on my wife's primary plan because mine wasn't active yet. She comes back with well the insurance office isn't open yet so. I went back and forth with her explaining that she can call the automated number and it will tell her that I haven't used any of my benefits. Rather than do that she walks away I take off the bib and decide that I don't want these people anywhere near my mouth. I begin to leave and she is calling me back, I walk out of the office and miss incompetent follows me out the door and says "really dude, f&$! you then" and slammed the door. I turned around and went back in and called her out on not having the right info or even the right tooth. The office manager I guess wanted to flex and demands I leave. Okay Barbra, if your lazy receptionist wouldn't have followed me out to my vehicle to cuss me out we wouldn't be here right now. Terrible front desk gate keeps what genuinely seemed like a really nice dentist. I likely would have rescheduled and over looked the lazy and incompetence but following me out to my vehicle to tell me "f&$! you then", was a bridge too far. 0/10 do not recommend.
