Godzilla roll - a little too big and unruly, but tasty nonetheless.
Howard F.

Kosher restaurants are such a different experience in the NYC area than what I'm used to in Toronto and Pittsburgh. Eden Wok is a Chinese restaurant with a rather varied menu, decent food, and pleasant, helpful and speedy service. In particular, they catered to my cousin Becca, who is just old enough to devour chopped fruit and veg. The Pastrami Egg Roll as ok, but noteworthy, because I'd never had one before. The Godzilla sushi roll was a little too big and unruly, but tasty nonetheless. Yes, sushi at a Chinese restaurant, but why not? We had a bunch of sushi; it was fine, nothing exciting. It was a Sunday night, and the place filled up with large family groups pretty quickly, mostly devouring traditional American Chinese cuisine, and little kids seemed to mostly go for hot dogs!

Went out with a friend for their Monday night buffet. I've been waiting since summer 2016 to go so this was a decently long time coming. I'm a huge sushi fan and could take down massive amounts of this starchy goodness. Their sushi was pretty good, they randomly put out rolls nicer than the just cucumber or just crab- which is nice considering it's an all you can eat place. I wasn't a major fan of the Chinese food unfortunately. (I have higher standards coming from NJ) However, the sushi was solid even if I only snagged one salmon avocado piece.- personal fave. For me, it was definitely worth the money to do this once a year or so. My stomach can only handle so much sushi abuse per year. Now let's discuss the service: Great Service! Super on top of water refills and table bussing, very professional. Only thing I had to request was the check- which is perfect. Bottom line: Would go back again after giving my stomach some time to recuperate. For under 20 bucks a person for a subpar Chinese/tasty sushi buffet that's kosher? Can't beat that!

My receipt! Complete waste of money.

In the midst of the covid pandemic, I got very excited to see a sushi place still open for delivery. We've been missing sushi for a while. I ordered 3 rolls, a fried rice and a lo mein. My total with delivery fee and tip was $77.93. I ordered an Alaskan roll which was literally 90% rice, complete disappointment. I ordered two additional "specialty" rolls at $14.50 each. The lo mein was the house special but nothing was special about it at all. Tiny pieces of meat. And $10.50 for lo mein is ridiculous. Same for the fried rice. Honestly....if this meal cost me $30, I could chalk it up to "you get what you pay for", but I spent basically $80 on terrible food. I really won't order from them again.

For a Kosher Chinese restaurant, this place is "Baruch Hashem" very good.

Rude, shabby treatment. In an empty restaurant, my wife and I were made to sit at a small table in the back. We will not go back.

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

(By "real" I mean wood smoked as opposed to grilled and slathered in sauce like most "bbq" places). Westchester has a hard time keeping barbecue restaurants in business (Revenge, Whole Hog Cafe, Dickie's, etc) so I'm hoping to keep this one in business :) I'm in Riverdale and the closest thing we have to real barbecue is a local gastropub (BAH is great in a pinch), therefore I'm very happy that STG partnered with Toast to do deliveries. We've ordered a few times and aside from one bumpy experience we've been very happy with STG. The Brisket stands up to delivery and doesn't dry out, the pulled pork / ribs / pork belly are all winners, and the Chicken and the Chicken wings hold their own against the traditional stars of barbecue. Lastly their Cornbread isn't a dried out puck rather it's moist and fluffy. We're ordering about once a week at this point because it's so good.

The food and drinks were mediocre and service was lukewarm. We ordered the mixed grill for two. The brisket and ribs were ok. The Mac and cheese tasted like velveeta. The corn was decent. We didn't even touch the chicken. I had the smoke show cocktail. It was entirely too sweet and not enough tequila. I heard the manager ask another couple if it was their first time at restaurant. They said yes and manager offered them a round of cocktails. I told our server earlier that it was our first time at restaurant. Guess what....we weren't offered a round of cocktails. Disparate treatment combined with meh food and service means we won't be coming back- nor am I recommending the restaurant. Spend your money elsewhere.

It was easy for all of us to walk in and out and the waitress was very sweet and knowledgeable. It was restaurant week which we were in aware of so we were pleasantly surprised as we were able to have a three course meal for not a bad price at all. I had French onion soup to start and I was very happy with my choice as it was very flavorful and had a ton of onions which I love when they leave in all of them when they serve it. My friends had clam chowder and calamari. I had a few calamari and was very happy with how fresh and crispy it was. They gave a nice portion on all three. As for my main course I had a a very nice size steak sandwich that were absolutely delicious. It came with hand cut French fries. I couldn't believe how good it was. I'm usually extremely picky and the steak was so tender and it melted it my mouth. The fries were killer good as well. For desert, I had bread pudding and that was wonderful as well. It came in a cream sauce and I was very happy with what I picked. All in all, I loved my meal and the time spent with my friends that I hadn't seen in almost a year. We had laughs and a very nice conversation and they did not rush us at all. I will definitely be back for some amazing food and a wonderful atmosphere to soak it up with.

On a beautiful afternoon, we decided to grab a table on the patio, and it was the perfect choice. The outdoor seating created a relaxed, inviting atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and enjoy brunch. The restaurant itself has a modern, stylish aesthetic that feels elevated without being pretentious. From the moment we sat down, the service was exceptional. Our server was attentive, welcoming, and struck that perfect balance of checking in without ever making us feel rushed. Now, let's talk about the food. The Tres Leches French Toast completely exceeded my expectations. I've had plenty of French toast over the years, but this one stood out. It was incredibly soft and fluffy with beautifully crisp edges, creating that perfect contrast in texture. The tres leches flavor was rich enough that it genuinely didn't need syrup--a rare compliment for French toast. Every bite was indulgent without feeling overly sweet. Paired with the perfectly cooked apple-smoked bacon and a bowl of fresh fruit, it was one of the better brunch plates I've had in quite some time. I also ordered the strawberry mimosa, which was bright, refreshing, and not overly sweet. It was the perfect companion to brunch. We couldn't leave without trying the Chicken Burrata Sandwich, and I'm so glad we did. The burrata was fresh and creamy, the chicken was juicy, and the spicy sauce added just enough heat to keep every bite interesting without overpowering the sandwich. Then there was the bun--soft, fresh, and sturdy enough to hold everything together. It tied the entire sandwich together beautifully. The fries deserve their own mention. Golden brown, perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and fluffy on the inside--exactly how fries should be. Between the beautiful setting, genuinely attentive service, and food that delivered across the board, 179 Bar & Grill earned every one of these five stars. It's the kind of place that's just as good for a casual brunch as it would be for bringing friends or celebrating a special occasion. I'll absolutely be back--and next time, I'm already planning to explore more of the menu.
