    Philly Cheesesteak #1
    Barbara C.

Wasn't impressed with my Philly Cheesesteak! Very little steak and mostly all onions. Which were crunchy, not carmelized. Very little filling to bun ratio and ate dry. I will not be ordering from this food truck again. Would love to try some of the other food trucks at the Yard though! Great ambiance at the yard though with the indoor seating. Tried the number 8 beer that was recommended by the bar server. Was light, crisp and refreshing!

We visited eddy's while at the Yard in Salem. The Philly was good and hit the spot, but I have had better Philly cheese steaks. They didn't take too long to prepare our food but the yard wasn't busy on a Tuesday evening.

Ordered the number 2 (classic Philly)! The steak strips were juicy and well seasoned. Could toast the bread a little longer but overall a good stop!

Phillies! Phillies! The best taste around! Customer service is superb. Located at The Yard. Experience great taste, full of flavor and different styles of Philly cheese steaks that meet your desire. Add sides and drinks. Take it to go or take it inside for a selection of beers, ciders or other great tasting drinks.

We ordered Phyllis original sandwiches. Meat was flavorful and juicy. Big portions and very filling.

Came to The Yard and decided I wanted to try this place out along with my sister who's never had a cheesesteak before. So once we go them I did inform her that these aren't like any I've had before simply because of the bread. It's a completely open sandwich rather than being closed on one side, which makes it a little easier to eat. That being said, they completely overloaded up these sandwiches, in a good way. I absolutely loved all the mushrooms. The were big slices and didn't get lost in the mix. The bread was nice and soft, meat tender and delicious. She wanted fries, and she enjoyed them. I also got onion rings which were good. I thought the price a little steep for just onion rings (even accounting for the increase in prices lately), but hey, If you can have better margins on an item more power to you. I would suggest they use a smaller container to make it look like a bigger portion. It's all about perception and a really empty big box doesn't look like nearly as good a deal as a small one that's full. Just sayin. Overall I would definitely get another sandwich, but would pass on the sides.

Stopped by Eddy's food truck at The Yard this afternoon to try his Cheesesteak Sandwich. Earlier this summer I had cheesesteak at Epilogue a dine-in establishment in downtown Salem. Both were filling, great-tasting meals. Eddy's was hotter and done sooner...as you should expect from a well-managed food truck. Beef was cut differently. Epilogue had larger amount of meat. Eddy's Classic includes cheese, grilled onions, green peppers, mushrooms on a fresh soft white bun. The the generous portion of beef was thinly sliced. Ordered fries and Diet Coke. Sandwich so big, I just barely had room for half the fries.

The burgers were good, lots of flavor and richness. I added some ketchup to mine as it was a tiny bit dry in some bites. The fries were good, they needed salt; luckily there was salt, pepper, ketchup and mustard at each table. Solid burgers, maybe a tad expensive for what you get. My total was over 30 dollars with two drinks before tip. But the same can be said of most food right now. They checked in with us about our food, which I appreciated. We had milkshakes to go with it. My husbands was delicious but mine had little chunks in it. Very well seasoned and accompanied by the onions and swiss cheese, the sandwich was to die for! The peppers worked extremely well, and the roll that they used was super soft and toasted as well. The presentation of the sandwich was simple, but you're able to peer directly in and see all the ingredients inside the sandwich. Anyone who…read moreknows me knows that I don't blow sunshine up anyone's skirt so this is a 100% fair and accurate review of the food they serve. I've actually spent a lot of time in Philadelphia so I know what a Philly Cheese Steak sangwich is supposed to taste like. Purists will say that the Philly here isn't totally authentic and that would be true, however they serve up a mighty good sandwich all the same. There's maybe a dozen or so places in Philly where you can get "the real deal". Lots more places in Philly (and elsewhere) offer a "Philly cheese steak" sandwich but they, too, are hardly authentic. So let's put that to rest. I had what's known as the provy witout. No whiz, no peppers. Just meat and cheese. Prit-T-good! Ordered the whole sandwich, which was actually two sandwiches for ~ $12. Waaaay too much even for a big guy like me. The steak was a tasty cut, grilled to perfection with the cheese cooked right into the meat as it should be. No complaints at all. The roll was as authentic as you can expect considering how far away a Philly bakery is. Unless you feel like traveling 3,000 miles this sandwich ought to keep even the fussiest folks happy. On a side note, I don't know how these food trucks make any money anymore. What with the reduced hours due to this scamdemic nonsense... they were open at this location for two hours. I believe that this was their only gig for the day. They did have a steady flow of customers but still. At ~$12 a pop they aren't taking in a lot of dough. Then you have a couple of hours of prep and cleanup time (no revenue there), the cost of materials, fuel, licenses, fees, overhead, equipment depreciation and so on.... the owner plus one employee plus childcare so she can work the business...... it's a LOT of work and not a huge reward. For them it must be a labor of love because no one gets rich operating one of these trucks. I always try to support local businesses and this is definitely a local business worth coming to visit.
