Complete garbage fire of an establishment. Went with my girlfriend's family of 5. Ordered a medium rare New York steak and got a paper thin overcooked low end cut. Nicely sent it back and the owners wife ran out was super rude and said they wouldn't cook another one because they didn't want to waste another steak on us. They brought out another pasta dish instead which was also low quality and terrible. Awful service, awful food, and the fact it was empty on a Friday night says a lot about it. My chix parm was dry, there just breading it and deep fat frying it, quick and easy way. I didnt like it. I ordered Linguine and got spaghetti. My wife had the chix and mushroom special over angel hair, chix and mushrooms were in big huge chunks. Chix was like shoeleather. Hardly any sauce. Not a good meal at all for the prices. What a great meal! We have eaten many times at Eddie's over the years, but got out of the habit during COVID. Well, our dinner last night was not the same old Eddie's. Beth and Dave have done a brilliant redo of the menu and done a lot of little things to make the dining room brighter and somehow feeling more spacious. Janet and I each had a side salad chock full of crispy greens with blue cheese dressing dense with pungent cheese. We split an order of scallops (we had had a late lunch) that came beautifully presented on two plates, each with half of a very large double baked potato that was filled with bacon and goodies. The scallops were good sized and perfectly cooked 'til just opaque and tender. My plate had 5 and Janet's 4. We washed it all down with a bottle of Matua Sauvignon Blanc, a fine New Zealand wine with a crisp note of grapefruit. Beth is a gracious hostess and got us seated right away even though we had no reservations. Now that we are into "the season" I'll call in for a reservation. Out waitress, Kerry, kept a close eye on us and made sure everything was perfect. We have a summer cabin just 15 minutes south of Eddie's, an easy drive. But, if you are staying in Bolton or Lake George village, the scenic drive over Tongue Mountain is well worth the extra time. You will get away from the hustle and delay of the tourist crowds. And, if you eat on the outdoor covered deck, it is down right bucolic. You'll enjoy big city quality, with a small town welcome. We will certainly be back soon. read more

10 of us had 6:00 reservations at a different restaurant that had to cancel on us at the last minute. Eddie's was able to accommodate us even though they were very busy. Our waitress could not have friendlier or more accommodating. I had scallops which I thought was a bit risky since we were so far away from the ocean but they were delicious. Others in our party had shrimp scampi, scrod and various parmigiana and marinara dishes and everyone loved their meals. Looking forward to going back. read more

So I've been going to Eddies for over 15 years, not like everyday or even very often ... but when in north country this is a solid spot. Here's the deal: First the ambiance fits right in to the Adirondacks , so please ignore any reviews that speak of some bs about outdated or whatever ... if your looking for some fancy steakhouse then drive south. This is a family run establishment that strives to make good food and provide good service. The food is excellent and they have a couple of signature drinks. I don't do Bloody Marys ... but the eddies special is awesome. Give it a try! The food is excellent and highly recommend the French onion soup. But really anything on the menu is worth trying. Bathroom is super clean, which I always believe is an indication of how they run the kitchen! Food was solid traditional Italian Food for a good price. Molly our server was fantastic.

This place is very small, and no one answers the phone during the dinner time on a Saturday evening. We took our bet to drive there and were only told we can eat outside due to inside is full, and it is too cold and rainy and wet outside. I wish I could make reservation to call to know whether there is seat, but since no one answers the phone, we just ended up changing the place. The lady was unhappy when we complained no one answered the phone, she told us it is busy time and hard to have someone answer the phone, of course there is not any wording of "sorry" or "apologies". It seems she does not feel it is her responsibility to make sure some one will answer the phone for her restaurant and she has no reflection that this is something that could be problematic for her potential customers. I mean, if she can make it feel a bit better with some compassion and acknowledge the inconveniences cause to others, that will make a huge difference on huge people feel. read more

I am really conflicted about this review. The food is quite good for as little as you get. The prices are on the higher side of life. Maybe this is why this is my only second visit in the last 50 years. You kinda have to forget how little food for such a high price. The eggplant Parmigiana tastes great for the 4 bites that you get. The bruschetta toast was so so, probably the least appealing aspect of the food. This side salad that you get with your meal would be small at twice the size. All in all the flavor is good but the only thing full sized about this meal was the price. read more

I ordered 2 fish sandwiches to go and they were GREAT, as usual. I was not happy to see that there were two container fees added to my bill ($2 each). Each sandwich included apaper wrap and a plastic bag for potato chips. I get take out to reduce the risk of Covid and I do NOT consider the $2 Charge reasonable. I will not eat here again! read more

Locally-owned Italian with great service and great food. I'm a huge fan of the meatballs with marinara but you can't go wrong with any thing on the menu. Salads are very fresh and daily soups a treat. The sole busser did an amazing job keeping waters full and tables clear! read more

If you don't want to read my enormous review here's the take away--don't go to Eddies. The food is average at best, the service is very slow, and the whole place is just not worth the money. We stopped here on our way home from vacation, we stopped because of a recommendation for their dessert. After walking into the restaurant and not being greeted for at least 5 minutes we walked through the restaurant to make sure that we hadn't come in the wrong door and were standing in the wrong place. There was no "please wait to be seated" sign and multiple staff members walked by us and didn't ask if we needed help. We finally decided to seek help and were told to take a few steps forward so the owner might be able to see us and eventually seat us. After a few more minutes we were approached by an owner and he gave us 2 choices for tables. We asked if we could sit outside as they have a great deck and there was no one out there. We were told that it would be a wait for outside because the waitresses were too busy inside. We decided to go for a high top indoors. One of the owners came over and gave us our silverware and some water. She then told us to "now be patient, girls. We are completely full in the back". This came across as rude and condescending as we hadn't complained about anything at this point. Our server then approached us and told us that someone would be by with bread. We ordered very quickly--I got angel hair with vodka sauce and meatballs and my friend got linguine with marinara and meatballs and a side of green beans. The linguine and angel hair were two of the three pastas of the day, the hits was fettuccine. Our meals came with a side salad and we both got the caesar dressing. At this point (about 10 minutes into sitting) we still had not gotten our bread. Our side salad came out quickly, but was very disappointing--it was very small and lacked extra veggies. Still no bread. We continued to wait for at least 45 minutes for our entrees to come out and never saw our server in between the salads and the delivery our meals. After we got our meals we asked for the bread and more water (which had been empty for at least 30 minutes). Needless to say we didn't see our bread until the very end of our meals and after asking once more (that's three times!). Our meals were average at best. The amount of marinara was hugely lacking and the majority of the pasta was dry without any sauce. The spaghetti seemed like it came out of a box and was most definitely not homemade, despite their name "Eddie's: Homemade Spaghetti". The side of green beans were small and microwaved without any seasoning at all. The Caesar dressing was the only thing we raved about... We asked for the check and when it came the waitress had added the prices wrong and wanted to charge us $57 instead of $27. She quickly fixed this mistake which we appreciated as we couldn't wait to leave. The decor is outdated and seems like it is endlessly Christmas. The bathroom is strange with tons of old hand lotion and peeling wall paper. The pricing is a bit absurd considering the service and quality. A Caesar salad is $5, but if you add chicken it goes up to $16. Main big entrees are around $18-$24. Overall, service was lacking and the food was nothing special... Would highly recommend seeking food elsewhere. read more

The only good thing here was the French onion soup. The pasta came out cold and was over cooked. The service was extremely slow. The sauce is thick and pasty, almost taste like Lunchables sauce for kids. Not worth it. Don't waste your money here and go somewhere else. read more

I hadn't eaten here in at least 18 years but decided do order take out pizza since ti pi closed. Pizza is great and since then we have ordered it a few more times. However, you can only get pizza early as they are too busy later on and need the oven space. Crust is perfect balance of chewy and crusty and delicious (though I prefer thin Neapolitan style pizza, which this is not) and arguably the best pizza around here. Service on the phone is always friendly and accommodating. Next summer I will definitely try dining in. read more

Veal Parm came out with penne pasta that was Luke warm smothered in a tremendous amount of sauce that tasted like it came from a jar. I politely told the waitress that the pasta was not eatable. Third time dining at Eddie's so far this year. I originally stopped in with a friend at around 9pm on Friday night, but we were turned away because they were closing early (business hasn't picked up for the tourist season yet). We returned during the early evening on Saturday night and enjoyed great meals. As usual, their cheese logs (homemade mozzarella sticks) with raspberry sauce were delicious. We each had different Italian dishes and they were both great. All of their food here has a certain homemade touch. We arrived with a party of eight. We were seated quickly in a nice high top. the food for all of us came out with perfect timing and was delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes and appetizers. The fried mozzarella was excellent the calamari decent. The pastas were homemade and wonderful, eggplant parmesan was the best I have had in a very long time. Have a group of friends that used to go to this place every year after a conference at Silver Bay down the road and the service has gotten progressively worse every year. Bartenders are slow, food is slower and recently when we went to check out I had a bartender hand write a 20% tip on my bar tab. When I asked her about it she said "It's standard." I informed her that 20% is in no way standard and we weren't informed about a standard 20% tip on all tabs before we came in, she told me "Well I don't know what to tell you." A sweet ambience and a nice deck, but otherwise, even the most basic Italian dish was bland (the marinara, which was advertised as chunky was puréed to death and most definitely made of canned tomatoes), the portions were on the small side (only 6 raviolis for 12.95) and the waitress, though nice enough, didn't know what red pepper flakes were when we'd asked for them. While I do not believe my experience is a common one, I want to put the story out there for the wary traveler. I think the nightmare began when we were seated by the hostess/manager. I had explained that though we were a party of two at moment, we would be joined at some point by a third person. When we were finally seated, she placed us at a table for two with no room for a third chair to be added. It took more than 10 minutes for our waitress to touch base with us. She took our order for both food and drinks, and disappeared for another 10+ minutes. During this time, the manager/hostess came by and I expressed my concern about adding the third party to our table. She acted very put out by my concern, asked me several questions with an unpleasant attitude about when the third party would arrive, and finally grudgingly moved us to the worst table in the house right by the swinging doors of the kitchen though there were other tables available. When the waitress finally did return, it was only with the bread basket - not our drinks. We had to flag her down multiple times to actually get our drink. Another 10 minutes for our appetizers. About half an hour into the experience, our third party arrived, and I told her about our experience up until her arrival. Apparently our waitress overheard me telling the story, told the manager, who visited our table to ask us if there was a problem. We, at this point said no, because despite feeling that the pacing was poor, we were trying to forgive it. The waitress then came over, and asked if we were "set for our salads", which to me sounded as if she was asking if we had already received them. I said that we hadn't had them yet, and would like to start moving along because we were hungry. This comment caused the manager to come over again, and suggested that maybe we should leave because we clearly were unhappy. At this I couldn't help but express my dismay at the fact that a table which had been seated AFTER us already was in the middle of their meal while we were still waiting for a simple pasta dish and salads... at which point the manager became very defensive and abusive and stated that our complaints were imagined. She assured us that the food would be out soon. Five minutes later, I commented to my party that after the abuse from the manager and the fact that she had asked us to leave, I was surprised that we still hadn't been served. Jokingly, I said "you'd think they'd want to get us out of here as soon as possible since she already suggested we leave." which again, must have been overheard by the staff given our position in the dining-room, which caused the manager to come over, and cause a 10 minute scene. Rather than defuse or acknowledge any of the complaints I had, she tried to invalidate them, tried to intimidate us, insulted me directly, and ruined my evening and my appetite. I paid for the meal even though we only ate 1/4th of it, and left an entire dish untouched. On our way out, the manager had the audacity to sarcastically say "Good night, folks". She followed us to the door, and one of my party commented that she might have been locking the door behind us which gave me a much needed laugh. In response we heard a cackle coming from behind us. She had followed us outside! As I have never experienced anything like this ANYWHERE else I've ever been, I doubt this is a normal occurrence at this establishment. However, it did happen to me - so be warned. read more

We arrived at Eddie's at Wednesday evening with 15 people on Harley's! Beautiful evening out, we decided to sit outside on the patio! The bartender sat us right away on the patio! Catey our waitress came right away with menu's water and bread for all of us! Catey was EXCITENT! She did separate checks for all the couples! Which is a HUGE benefit for the group! Service excellent and fast! Everything came out according and all the food was delicious and hot! Catey knew just when to get refills or offer more bread! She was great! The atmosphere was relaxing and enjoying on the patio! At the end of our meal the owners son's came on to the patio to make sure all the food was good! Everyone raved about the food and attention our server gave us! This was our first time here and we will definitely be going back! NOT one complaint for all 15 of us! I'd like to be able to review the food, but can't because we never even made it to a table due to an extremely rude and unpleasant staff person. My husband, 3 kids and I stopped here for an early dinner while on vacation. It took forever for someone to acknowledge that we had walked in the door. We even looked around to see if maybe we had arrived before dinner was being served or something since a few staff people passed by without acknowledging our presence. When a woman finally came up to us, she took one look at us and said, "Our high chairs are all being used right now. So it's up to you if you want to stay." (I have a one-year-old.) As she was saying this, she was literally walking away from us, making it clear that she was not interested in having us stay and eat there. We turned around and left - obviously we do not want to stay where we are not welcome. As I was walking out the door, another customer who was also leaving said to me, "I don't blame you for leaving. That was terrible," referring to the rude way that the staff person spoke to us. Now I could almost understand if my kids had been acting out or something. But the two older kids had been sitting there quietly playing with a disassembled puzzle that the restaurant had on a table near the entrance, and I was holding the baby the whole time we had been waiting. So they clearly just saw us and decided arbitrarily that they did not want to serve us that evening. Although this place is labeled as being "family friendly," it obviously is not. Prime rib special on Saturday night. Friendly service. Probably one of the nicer places to eat in the area near Ft. Ticonderoga. Our recent visit to Eddies was very disappointing. We've been going to this restaurant with our family for over 9 years (each time we visit Silver Bay). Eddies has become a family tradition, we were even engaged there so it holds special memories. So, to recap our experience . . . I made reservations for a large party of 16 and was asked if we'd like to sit inside or on the patio. Since the weather has been lovely we decided on the patio. The person taking our reservation never warned us or mentioned that they usually won't seat a party on the patio after 7:00 because of mosquitos. Our reservation was at 7:15. By 8:50 (while still waiting for our dinner to come out) one of us asked the manager if she had bug spray. She rudely told us that, "No, I don't and we normally won't seat people on the patio at night." If that was the case we should have never had the option of the patio to begin with. Our dinners took FOREVER to be served. The small, basic dinner salads were not even brought out for an hour and a half. Our waitress overheard us commenting on the slow service and soon the manager came back out to our table and got very defensive. She made excuses about the size of our party and that we had separate checks and that these factors resulted in our dinner taking 2 hours to be prepared and served. She was rude, condescending and overly aggressive in her tone and body language. Not only that, when we asked about the bug spray she was sitting and drinking at the bar. When the food finally did arrive it was average at best. My husbands meal was not hot and overall the meal was overpriced. The waitress was actually very nice and our poor experience had nothing to do with her or the other wait staff. The manager/owner was completely to blame and is the reason we will not return to Eddies. In the future, I hope the owner learns that a better option may have been to politely apologize for the slow service and perhaps send out some complimentary appetizers for the table (especially with small children who aren't used to eating at 9:00pm). A little more customer service and a little less making excuses could have made a big difference. Again, very disappointing experience and meal. We won't be back. read more

We arrived around 5:45 the owner/bartender yelled from the bar she would be with us in a minute. We she came to seat us she said the dinning room was closed due to a party and only had the patio available, We sat on the patio where four other couples were already seated. The waitress came to take our drink and food order telling us the bartender was busy and it would take awhile for our drinks. 10 minutes later the drinks and appy came out. 30 mins after appy our meal came. My pasta was cold and the small amount of sauce was warm. I sent my meal back. The bartender ask is she can get me something else. I told her I didn't want to wait another 30 mins for my meal. Her response was "I told you we had a party and it would take awhile." SHE NEVER SAID THAT nor did she tell us there were only to servers both working the party and the regular customers.
