Very little sauce, mushrooms and chix in big huge chunks.

My chix parm was dry, there just breading it and deep fat frying it, quick and easy way. I didnt like it. I ordered Linguine and got spaghetti. My wife had the chix and mushroom special over angel hair, chix and mushrooms were in big huge chunks. Chix was like shoeleather. Hardly any sauce. Not a good meal at all for the prices. Service is always good.

So I've been going to Eddies for over 15 years, not like everyday or even very often ... but when in north country this is a solid spot. Here's the deal: First the ambiance fits right in to the Adirondacks , so please ignore any reviews that speak of some bs about outdated or whatever ... if your looking for some fancy steakhouse then drive south. This is a family run establishment that strives to make good food and provide good service. The food is excellent and they have a couple of signature drinks. I don't do Bloody Marys ... but the eddies special is awesome. Give it a try! The food is excellent and highly recommend the French onion soup. But really anything on the menu is worth trying. Bathroom is super clean, which I always believe is an indication of how they run the kitchen! Give it a shot and stop reading reviews about how one time this and I didn't get my way this one time and blah blah blah!!!!

Eggplant Parmigiana dinner?!? 4 pieces of eggplant and some angel hair pasta for $15

Ate dinner at The Chateau On The Lake. We had the pleasure of having Ava as our server. Ava just…read morehappens to be the daughter of the owners and exemplified exceptional service with a great smile and personality. We started with a Blood Orange Martini and a vodka drinks. We ordered the Arugula Roasted Beet salad. The arugula was super fresh and good, however, it overpowered the beets which were thin and underrepresented. We also enjoyed a shrimp cocktail which was very good. For mains we had the roasted duck breast and the braised short ribs. The duck breast was a bit more well done than we normally have preferred, but was delicious, tender and moist. The short ribs were melt-in-your mouth perfect. We both accompanied the mains with a glass of red wine (one of the Hout-Plaisance and one of the Pessac Leognan). For desert we tried the carrot cake and the peanut butter pie. The carrot cake was good but the peanut butter pie was heavenly. In all a very well prepared dinner. However, we expected more creativity from the chef compared to other meals we have enjoyed in the region. Pricing was on the high side.

While walking along Lake Shore Drive on a hot and humid Saturday afternoon, my better half wanted…read moreto browse in this one store that we have browsed in many times before. I said you browse; I'll stand out here in the shade. Then I spied the sign for Chateau on the Lake, which said they were open for Happy Hour between 2:00pm and 5:00pm. So, I sauntered down Allens Alley towards the Chateau. Place was empty, except for the bartender. I announced I was here for Happy Hour, but was informed it's not really a Happy Hour, it's just that bar is open for business. Okay, I'll have a Heineken ($8). Then I went out back, sat in the shade, enjoyed my beer, looked at beautiful Lake George, and waited for the wife to call and say she was done browsing.
