August 2022 Updated review 1) Service has improved leaps and bounds 2) The portions remain large 3) Interior updated. Brighter. Lively. Clean. 4) See the latest pictures. I didn't get menu pictures as I ordered ToGo. Take Away for the UK'ers. All cards accepted. Dining in involves dedicated service via wait staff and the owners. Good to see a local institution remain family owned and operated.

    Eddies inside

Great food always on point missed the Banana pudding cake though got whole catfish and 4 stuffed shrimp

Fried chicken and rice, 1/2 dozen shrimp w/fries, 3 stuffed shrimps with toasted hamburger bun

Was not happy with the food to say that it comes from a long line of family and friends that branches off to open their own business!! I got chicken w/fries, 1/2dozen of shrimps, 3 stuffed shrimps, and I asked for toast, they gave me toasted hamburger buns!

Eddies is the truth! Huge portions cooked to order and the original stuffed shrimp recipe

Food is decent, but it's hard for me to pay those prices and still wait an hour after pickup time. If you d got the time it's well worth it.

Lots of mainly fried fish options, with a few grilled available as well. Fried Catfish! Wonderful proper crisp but light crust on a best ever thick filet light steamed with great flaky large filets. Shrimp really good and sides and gumbo are just right. Parking looked full but plenty of table space still available inside. They are known for very prompt service and food, so they apologized when it was going to take 10 minutes as they had just turned in orders for 2 parties of a dozen. Prices are quite reasonable, getting homemade quality for just about a dollar over commercial chains, with plenty of food on the plate. Unsweet tea was just brewed and better taste than you would expect... Worth the extra short drive around town to get there, and quite fine staff as well. Try it, you'll like it.

Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. It took over an hour for us to receive our food. We ordered shrimp and grits and two shrimp and fish platters. During the wait, I asked our server twice what was taking so long. Both times, I was told that they had a large party on the patio. While I understand that large parties can put additional pressure on a kitchen, that really shouldn't come at the expense of other customers who were seated and ordered before or around the same time. If the restaurant isn't able to accommodate a large party while maintaining reasonable service for other guests, there should be better planning and communication. What made it even more frustrating was watching other tables around us receive their food before we did. When I questioned the delay, the response was essentially that "some food takes longer than others." I understand that certain dishes may take more time to prepare, but waiting over an hour without any proactive communication or explanation was disappointing. This was my first visit, and unfortunately, the experience left a poor impression. I really wanted to enjoy the restaurant and give it a fair chance, but based on the service we received, I highly doubt we'll be returning. I hope management takes this feedback seriously because customers shouldn't have to repeatedly ask about their food after waiting that long.

The nice host, a little frazzled but still in a good humor, said he had a table but was waiting for it to be bussed. Cool. We stood and watched the crowd for a few minutes while the handy staff cleaned up and caught up. Side note: The busser found a phone left on the table and promptly brought it up to the host station. Kudos! This place is always spot on for ambience. I know "lunch on Friday" isn't the glamorous category, but when you walk in and happy people are eating and having a fairly typical end of the week good time- and yes there were a few beers and glasses of wine around on the tables-you know you're in the right place. I had the lunch special fried oysters with fries, and my co-conspirator had the hamburger. I should have had the hamburger. The patty is huge and the bread is getting a lot of help from this being a standout Poboy shop. It's amazing and perfect as a hamburger bun. But the tomatoes! It must be August in the South, because they are fantastic. TWO half inch slices along with the standard iceberg and condi's. See the pics, although they don't do these lush things justice. I'm not a fan of the fries style here, but that's just me and my preference. I ate them and will again. But I'm not yet over the tomatoes. We love this place! Go here immediately (if you can find a parking spot. Tip: you will, just be patient).

The manager's demeanor toward me was cold, dismissive, and unwelcoming from the very beginning. Rather than feeling like a valued guest, I felt as though I had already been judged before any interaction even took place. Throughout my visit, several staff members were rude, unprofessional, and made me feel uncomfortable. Their attitude and treatment left me feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. Based on the way I was treated compared with others around me, I left with the strong impression that race may have played a role in how I was treated. Whether intentional or not, the experience made me feel singled out and discriminated against. No customer should ever leave a restaurant feeling humiliated or questioning whether they were treated unfairly because of the color of their skin. Restaurants should be places where everyone is welcomed with dignity, respect, and professionalism. I chose your establishment expecting excellent food and courteous service. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, deeply disappointed, and disturbed by the overall experience. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever encountered. I respectfully request that ownership investigate this incident thoroughly, review the conduct of the manager and staff on duty, and take appropriate action to ensure no other customer experiences what I did. I hope you will take this complaint seriously. Businesses succeed by earning the trust of every customer, regardless of race or background. My experience fell far short of that standard.

The happy hour specials had to be asked about, however the bartender/server was very attentive and responsive. I ordered the Mango Cart beer along with the sampler of charbroiled oysters. The bartender also brought out some bread. I had high hopes for the oysters, and although you get a variety, they left me feeling somewhat disappointed. The Rockefeller had way too much spinach, the charbroiled was dry and had too much bread crumbs, the crab stuffed was okay and to my surprise the Diablo was my favorite. I also got some bread pudding which came out pipping hot. It tasted okay although it was too much for one person. Overall I gave the meal 4 stars The next day I came back with friends and we sat in the dining area. This was disastrous. The server let us know she was going to come back and help us after she got the LARGE group next to us taken care of but would put our order in first. Then she forgot about us. Actually told us she had already put their order in and proceeded to take our order. Then she had to come back and confirm (which was wrong) as she didn't write anything down. We started off with an order of crab stuffed mushrooms. Although the stuffing was tasty, as a whole it wasn't something I'd order again. I ordered the 1/2 & 1/2 - 1/2 poboy and gumbo. Food was just okay. The sandwich was dry, the gumbo was mostly rice. My friend, who we were celebrating, was disappointed with her food. When it came to the table she saw fries and asked was there an option and the server said yes, and she proceeded to ask her what she would have liked instead. However the fish was dry, the shrimp was overcooked and the veggies (that she replaced for the fries) was the highlight of her meal. Unfortunately we also both got sick which we assumed was from the mushrooms as it's the only thing we both had. So this visit gets 2 stars.
