Updating this review after trying again. Meatballs were good, pizza is best when hot immediately out of the oven, eggplant parm was OK, could have more eggplant, pasta, bland no olive oil, and dried jarlick. Solid 3. read more

PICK UP REVIEW Like other reviews have said, the inside of the place is very pub-like which makes it cozy to sit in. We didn't eat there but did notice the vibe. We weren't sure if the flat crust was the "bar style" or their regular style pizza but we ordered the large and it came with that very thin crust that you see in other people's photos. I looked at their menu again and it said the bar size was a 10" so I'm assuming the pizza style is just their style. NO GUILT PIZZA: This isn't your traditional New York slice so if that's what you're looking for I'd say try another spot. Their pizza is different in that it's a very flat thin crust kind of like water crackers you eat with cheese. Then it's got a thin layer of sauce and average amount of cheese. I did find myself putting a decent amount of garlic powder and oregano on it for more flavor and I don't usually add garlic order to my pizzas. I do wish there was a tad more sauce too. It states on the menu that all their products use part skim mozzarella and ricotta so there weren't any issues with overly oily pizza. Actually, according to the menu the 10" bar pizza is only 270 calories. We didn't stay but we had no issues with the service when we called for pickup and no issues actually picking up. Personally growing up in the standard NY Slice, this want quite my...slice of pie *wince* so 3.5/5 is my rating for this spot, 3 for the pie, 4 for the ambiance/service...But if you're looking for something lighter without the guilt I'd call this a good alternative. read more

Meh. The pizza was extremely chewy. Not what I was expecting. The whole wheat crust was better. read more

Never disappointed. Eddie's is my first and last stop when visiting Lon Gyland. After 50+ years of searching across 3 continents and 17 US states, Eddie's remains my favorite pizza. Quick table service, reasonably priced. Same menu for as long as I can remember. Low lighting, classic paneling. The only thing missing is Hugo (sic) sitting in the front room, corner table, folding boxes. Nostalgic. Crispy. Reliable. Forever my favorite spot for pizza either in-house or take out. read more

Eddie's Pizza - The magic that has been Eddie's signature for over 50 years. Eddie's pizza is Best of the Best. - Pizza Near Me - New Hyde Park, New York

Love the Eddie's Special pizza. Absolutely delicious. I've always found the staff there helpful and very friendly.

We went to pick up family at the airport late evening and they requested pizza. We decided to try something new and picked up an order here. If you're like me who doesn't like crust, this is a very good choice! It is thin crust pizza which was tasty and crispy. The eggplant parmigiana was good as well. Our order was ready at the requested time. It is CASH only. We would order from them again. read more

This place is a slice of nostalgia for me. The inside is very much a bar, which is why they serve (and specialize) in bar pie. Service has always been decent, nothing to complain about, but nothing stand-out either. The pizza is thin and crispy. It eats light, even with toppings. My favorite topping is probably their meatball, which they thinly slice. It goes great with their sauce. Don't get me wrong though, a regular cheese pie is great too. It's also only 270 calories. You can't really beat that. There's some debate over whether it's been open since the 30's or 40's. No matter how you look at it, it's been around for a long time and a long time for a reason, a very solid bar pie. read more

It feels like a dive bar upon walking in and then you turn the corner and see that it opens up to a slightly larger dining room with the feel of an old Irish pub. Service is good, efficient and attentive. The food was good. They are known for their famous "bar pie" which is basically just a super thin crust pizza. We tried the Bianca and the original with onions, mushrooms and meatballs. Both were very good, although I think the Bianca took the cake. Upon further reflection, the contrast of the Irish pub-esque ambiance and the pizza menu was very interesting and it worked. It's really just a relaxed divey atmosphere that knows what it is. Not trying to be overly fancy or pretentious. I dont know that I get all the hype with The NY Times and picture from Billy Joel's visit on the walls but it was good and I would go back. read more

Been to Eddie's a million times. We love it. We've sat at the bar, we've sat in a booth, we've sat in the dining are with a large crowd. The service is always great and we love the food. The bar pies are always delicious, the stuffed rigatoni with vodka sauce is so darn good as well. Zucchini sticks, California fries, garlic bread, salad, Egg sandwich, chicken parm, all great. We usually stick to our usual there but we've branched out a bit. Lorraine and Pam behind the bar are our fave. We love sitting at the bar, having a few drinks and food. It's cash only so stop at the ATM before you arrive. read more

Not worth it... AMBIANCE: 2 out of 5 We entered by the bar and the smell wasn't the greatest! We sat in the dining room area and it looks like it needs a facelift but it was clean so no complaints there! SERVICE: 2 out of 5 She bailed before cashing us out. The clam pie took too long so she definitely showed she did not want to be there. FOOD: 3 out of 5 -Onion rings: Too greasy -Cheese Bar Pie: Tasty Pizza without the guilt -Pepperoni Bar Pie: The pepperoni is not high quality and the cup/scoop pepperoni is better so they should switch! -Clam Casino Bar Pie: Fresh clams definitely! I've been going to Eddies for almost 40 years. They always had a unique take on thin crust pizza. The place has an old school, throwback era vibe to it. Some of the waitresses have also been there a looooong time. The service is fantastic and they're always witty, sarcastic and very friendly. There are lots of types of pizzas out these days with plenty of options available just about anywhere you go in the tri state area (NY, NJ and CT). This place has its own, one of a kind thin crust pizza. It almost tastes like a matza cracker. You can put as many toppings on the "bar pie" as you'd like, but my favorites are the plain cheese and sausage & onions. I believe they offer whole wheat crust as well as gluten free. There's a bar area that has its local regulars, but if you sit down for a drink, they will always make you feel welcomed. They also have a good amount of appetizers on the menu and you'll be sure to satisfy all members of the family, kids and adults alike. If you live anywhere in the area and have never tried Eddies, I strongly suggest you do so. I hope they're around for at least another 40 years! read more

This review is for their food truck catering. (Next time in NY, I'll have to check out their brick and mortar location) I was very much impressed with their pizza and service. I hired them to cater a HS graduation party. Admittedly I did not have high expectations for the pizza but was more so going for the iconic, NY vibe with a a food truck combined with pizza. I was so impressed with the quality of the pizza. Moreover, my guests were what you might consider a "tough crowd" when it comes to pizza, and everyone loved it!! The staff was so accommodating to all of our requests. I would highly recommend hiring them for a fun event. read more

Nothing but wow. We sat at the bar and had two bar pies. One with hot cherry peppers chopped up and we added the marinara chunky sauce instead of the thin sauce. Huge secret. we had a side of ziti with the vodka sauce knocked it out of the park. This place has been here for way too long and I can't believe I never visited. Absolutely recommended. This place can be missed if you are walking by, but you should definitely stop in for a bar pie! The food was made fresh and came out a lot differently than I had expected but I was pleasantly surprised! The bar pies were thin and crispy and cooked extremely well. When I arrived I was greeted by a gentleman at the bar and he was very nice and told me to grab a seat where I felt comfortable. Overall, the place had great food and very nice people. Definitely a great place but they are cash only. So make sure you know that before you get there order and have to go to an atm to get cash like I did! read more

Eddie's Pizza - Meatball and extra cheese bar pie - Pizza Near Me - New Hyde Park, New York

That good old super thin pizza definitely hits the spot so go here, and have a couple beers too!

This place has gone downhill so much, just nuke the place at this point. Once you get past the roach spray smell when you walk in, and your eyes adjust to the darkness by the bar, don't bother ordering food. The chicken wings remind me of bad frozen ones I grew up with. The thin pizza (love thin pizza) tastes like globs of bad cheese on a cracker. Never again. read more

Been going to Eddie's since I was little and the bar pie is still the most unique thin crust pizza around. While thin and crispy, the dough still possess a nice chew. The cheese is filled to the edges and the toppings are plenty. While a bit pricey ($10.95 base for a bar pie - small), it's worth it! The mozzarella sticks (an order comes with 4) are ginormous and have the best cheese pull when fresh. The zucchini sticks are also a family favorite. Paired with their horseradish ranch, they become one of the best apps/snacks. My dad was always a fan of their scungili, which is definitely an old school, classic, dish that like zucchini sticks, are now hard to find. If you're looking for a no fuss/casual vibe with sort of retro feel, Eddie's is where you want to be! Tip: It's cash only so prepare your pockets! read more

Next time you are hungry, scrape together $8.65, bring it down to hillside avenue, and get yourself a paper-thin pizza at Eddie's. It's like delicious marinara and mozzarella, baked well on matzoh. So thin, so crispy, so crunchy and delicious. The one drawback to this old gem of a restaurant is that it's never very clean. The occasional bug on the table or wall is rarely tolerable; but the food is just that good here. And if you're still hungry after the pizza, or before while you're waiting, get yourself some delicious chicken wings as well. read more

Eddie's used to be a mainstay in my rotation of restaurants, and I went back for the first time in a decade a few weeks ago. Sadly, it seems like Eddie's has lost some of its touch. As an appetizer, we had the sweet potato gnocchi, which was the best part of our meal - the cinnamon provided a great touch, even if the marinara for dipping was a strange choice. The mozzarella sticks, though, which I remember being amazing, were borderline inedible. The breading tastes burnt, the cheese tasted plasticy, and they were a big disappointment. The bar pies we had were serviceable - the crust was well done but the pizza just didn't hold up to what I've had elsewhere. All in all, an average middle-of-the-road place. read more

The pizza was the usual spectacular treat. The restaurant was clean and no longer had the famous "smell". We were very pleased. The pasta with sauce was disappointing. There was a big piece of "something" looked like fat, gross. We told the waitress and she looked closely telling us it was spaghetti stuck together. NAH-we didn't believe it. Anyway, it was dropped after that. No I apologies, no adjustment on the bill. We paid said thank you and left. read more

Ate there today around 12PM just after opening. We were one of two families in there. Food was great- bar pies were delicious. However, the restaurant had a terrible smell, the waiter was miserable and bathrooms had water in the soap dispenser.
