They're never opened. Their hours are different everywhere and they're never open. Did they close for good?

Favorite flavors are Death by Chocolate, Coffee Cookie Crunch and Cappuccino Explosion. It difficult to choose between the three since a double scoop is as much as I can handle before my sinuses explode from exceeding my lactose threshold. This snack spot's popularity is well deserved and the line inside can get pretty long and move slowly. Once you give your order to the kind person behind the counter- please don't hang out in front of the ice cream display and block its view. The happy horde of your friends and family are not transparent. The last few times I've been here, there were older couples who were quietly trying but failing to peek in between lolly gaggers to consider selections and order. While staff work hard to finish orders expediently, customer crowd control would benefit if they were more upfront and stated an organized process "I'll get that started for you. Please wait for your order at the pickup area to your left, and we will call your name when it's ready".

We were thrilled to find a mini golf course in the area and let's face it, there are not that many in the Hudson Valley to be found. The course was set up wonderfully, and challenging for the most part, adding the fun. Some of the course runs parallel to a pond, which can be a hassle if the ball gets in there, so be careful. Something that drew my attention was each hole wasn't numbered, except for one of them which was number 11. Who knows, maybe I missed it. Even though that's an eye-catcher, it's very easy following hole to hole. Also, while golfing in the daytime, there aren't many trees close by, which will bring the sweat game on. Bringing some sunscreen is a big plus. I wouldn't mind making this stop again someday, because there is a lot to do here.

Step inside and you're greeted by the warm smile of proprietor Bill Colgan, whose boyhood memories of the Skipper Dipper on Long Island inspired this delightful adventure. He's recreated that nostalgic charm here -- with a twist! Craving a classic? The Orange Freeze and Root Beer Float will send you straight back to summer afternoons gone by. Want something modern? Don't miss flavors from Gifford's Ice Cream, like the rich, espresso-swirled Campfire S'mores, or the wildly indulgent Sea Salt Caramel Cookie Crunch -- the kind of flavors you can't stop thinking about. And if you're celebrating -- or just feel like going BIG -- order the Everything But the Garage Sink: a jaw-dropping creation with 20 scoops of ice cream, piled high with toppings. It's perfect for birthdays, school advisory groups, or a spontaneous family feast. This isn't just a dessert stop -- it's a place where memories are made. Whether you're a local or passing through the Northwest Corner, Grassland Dessert Cafe is a must-visit. Grab a cone, say hi to Bill, and feel the joy of community, one sweet bite at a time.m

We came here for a refreshing treat on a cool Sunday evening, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Luckily, the weather kept the crowds manageable -- busy, but nowhere near the chaos of a hot summer afternoon. Nestled in the mountains of Warwick, NY, this creamery has such a charming, peaceful vibe. I first discovered it a few years ago after taking my nephew apple picking nearby, so I was excited to finally make my way back. The scenic drive alone is worth it. On this visit, they were serving customers inside only, but during peak summer days they also open the walk-up windows, which seems like a smart system for handling bigger crowds. Inside, the L-shaped counter setup helps keep the line moving efficiently even when there are multiple groups waiting. One thing I truly appreciated as someone with a gluten allergy was how clearly they labeled the gluten-free flavors on the menu. It made ordering stress-free and saved me from having to ask a million questions. Honestly, I wish every ice cream shop did this. Another huge bonus: they allow two flavors in a small size! I ordered the Great White Way and Calf Trax with rainbow sprinkles, and both flavors were absolutely delicious. After grabbing your ice cream, there are picnic tables outside overlooking breathtaking mountain views. It's the kind of place where you could easily sit for hours, relax, and just take in the scenery while enjoying your cone. The staff was friendly, parking was plentiful (always appreciated), and the overall experience was exactly what I hoped for. Bellvale Farms Creamery continues to live up to the hype, and I already can't wait to go back.

I had never been here before, so I went in completely blind, but the second I got out of the car, I understood why people come here. First of all: parking on BOTH sides of the street. Say less. Nothing ruins a cute little ice cream trip faster than circling for parking while your will to live slowly leaves your body. Then there's the smell. The scent wafting through the air should honestly be studied because it had me floating toward the building like a cartoon character following a pie cooling on a windowsill. I'm not saying the aroma dragged me in against my will...but I'm also not *not* saying that. Inside, the shop is set up in an "L" shape, and they have the flavors posted both outside AND inside, which I deeply appreciated because nobody needs the chaos of 14 people trying to read one tiny menu while pretending they're ready to order. They let you sample flavors before committing, which is dangerous for someone like me because suddenly I become an ice cream sommelier. I ended up getting Bellvale Bog and Calf Trax and let me tell you: absolutely worth it. 10/10. No notes. And somehow it gets even better once you walk back outside because there are picnic tables with a view that is genuinely stunning. Like, annoyingly picturesque. The kind of view that makes you stop mid-bite and rethink your life choices. For a completely spontaneous stop, this ended up being one of the highlights of the day. I will absolutely be back, and this time intentionally.
