Shopping in Rockaway, New Jersey…read more.. My friend didn't know about the ten percent off day. I told her about "Tuesday Club" because she NEEDS flip flops. She had to use my large pair because she doesn't have any!!! OMG! She knew that this Ross just opened up in the "outer mall". There are buildings like annexes... They are open-air shopping opportunities. It looked like a regular Ross to me - furniture, personal care items, pet supplies, clothing for men/women/children, accessories, luggage, jewelry, household goods, footwear, and more! Everything is at a discounted price - I really appreciate this! We didn't find any Clark's brand on this trip, but she did get a pair of Crocs flip flops... they have arch support and are washable! Yay! Mission accomplished!

(Mind you, this was about 5 minutes later) When I asked one of the employees about it, all she did was look at her watch with an attitude like it was closing time (it was 7:45, they close at 8) as if it was my fault the clothes were taken and then dismissed me. It was so rude and off putting that I didn't buy anything I was going to get and just left. I have a lot of friends that shop for going out outfits year-round and I will make sure they don't come to this store. And to add, some of their clothes had makeup and deodorant marks on them. GROSS. I showed up on time for my appointment and was greeted by a very aggressive sales associate who told me that they did not have any dresses in the color I needed in my size and that because it was the end of the season they could not order anything for me. Let me say, I am a misses size 16. So not sure if that was a play here but she proceeded to show me one or two awful dresses she might be able to get. She told me she would get dresses in January for the next season. When I asked if she would still be able to get them by my daughter's April wedding I was told it depended on the gown and she wouldn't know until then.Well, that's not reassuring!! I was pretty much turned away. Complete waste of time. It is fall/holiday season! You would think they would have a selection of gowns for the holiday season, especially in dark green.... But nope! I came in here with no budget as long as I found something I love. It's a shame they were so awful. I obviously will not be back! My husband was with me and was so horrified by how rude they behaved. Terrible service and limited selection I guess but I wasn't allowed to look at anything so I guess I have no way of knowing for sure!! Avoid at all costs!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I made an appointment to try on MOB dresses and had…read morethe WORST customer service experience! We arrived on time for our appointment. When we arrived the shop was completely empty except for us and the two women that worked there. I was greeted by a sales associate (I believe her name was Jo...but I honestly don't remember) who had a generally aggressive vibe but this is NJ so I let it roll. She asked what I was looking for and I explained that I was looking for a green gown for our daughter's April wedding. She immediately became irritated and huffily told me that she would show me around. She explained on the tour that they did not have any gowns that would 'fit' me in green (I am a misses 16/18) and that because it was the end of the season she could not order any of the dresses she had in a different size or color for either. She asked to see some images of gowns I had seen by a brand i liked she carries. I showed her several options. She pulled a VERY matronly gown out and said she could order this in my size and hem the sleeves off. I insisted that I did not like the dress and she wanted to argue about how it looked just like the image I showed her (it absolutely did not). She then pulled another dress out that was clearly NOT appropriate fora MOB and offered that. This was NOTHING like what I showed her. By this point I was beyond upset and frustrated because she kept restating that they didn't have much in my size....as if it reinforce I was fat. She said my only option would be to buy something off the rack or wait until she got new gowns in January. I asked if I waited until January if the gown would arrive in time for an April wedding. I was told she couldn't be sure until she knew which gown it was as not all gowns are kept in stock so there was no way to tell. This doesn't even make sense because all the gowns I showed her are fully stocked and orderable online. By this point I decided to leave as I was barely holding it together from giving her a piece of my mind. It's a shame because we went in with NO budget as long as I found something I loved. Considering they had an EMPTY store might have been a good idea to try and capture the $1,000+ sale. DO NOT shop here. They are rude, not size inclusive, and the selection is limited if they can not offer additional sizes and colors. Such a waste of an afternoon.

Thanks to the counter manager Maritza who went above and beyond to order an item that I needed but was out of stock. They provided samples in case the item doesn't arrive before the wedding. I witnessed an extremely inappropriate exchange between a friend and an employee at this location…read moretoday, May 15. My friend went to Loft to look for some new work clothes. What should have been a pleasant experience turned into something worse after she went to the fitting room. The woman "helping" her, an older woman with short blonde hair, decided that my friend had grabbed the wrong size. She then returned to the fitting rooms with a bigger size stating, "You got too small of a pants size. "I didn't want you to go into the fitting room and get discouraged", even though my friend had not disclosed her size to this employee, nor had the employee seen what she looked like in the pants. On top of that, why would she assume my friend is dissatisfied with her weight? Assuming she would "get discouraged" is completely ridiculous, as if she couldn't just be happy with the way she currently looks. Obviously, my friend was very upset. Not that it's anyone's business, but due to extenuating circumstances her weight has been fluctuating lately, and as women in this society, we are unfortunately all too aware and concerned about our appearance, and because of these factors it is already for her to go shopping in person as it is. This was extremely inappropriate for that employee to say, so much so that I cannot find the words to express how appalling I found this encounter. My friend, now feeling self-conscious due to this employee's careless and uncalled for remarks, decided she would say something to a separate employee to ensure this woman would not make any other young women uncomfortable in the same way. When she expressed patiently and calmly what happened to a different employee, all the employee had to say was "Oh yeah, she's very blunt" as if that makes it any better. The "explanation" was just a big old f*** you to my friend and this uncomfortable experience. I truly cannot believe I have to type this right now. Both employees offered no help to my friend and somehow, the second employee had the ability to make this trip to Loft even worse for her. Suffice to say, neither of us will ever be returning to this location and it remains to be seen if we will ever shop at Loft again. I suggest better training your staff in hopes that they don't continue to make insensitive remarks that will lead to a lack of business and ultimately the closing of this branch.

The mall is fairly big, with two floors, carrying a lot of familiar brand stores, and even ones that I'm sure some have never heard of. The interior has a modern look, which I'm sure had its renovation done a couple or several years back, but adds up looking clean and nice. It's in no condition of being a dead mall, despite there being a couple of closed stores, specifically anchor stores that don't exist anymore (pretty much all malls these days). The food court has a number to offer, with some of its usual eateries and a couple of ones that will blow your mind. Plenty of tables are provided to fit many people. For restaurants, there are Red Robin, The Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, Muldoon's Steakhouse & Pub, and Chipotle Mexican Grill. I wouldn't mind coming back to this mall, but won't be anytime soon due to how far I am.

We were so excited to see these machines as they had genuine limited gachapon straight from Japan! The price to play each machine ranges from 4 to 5 tokens and each token is $1. This is quite expensive but for the experience I'd say it's worth trying once or twice! If you're an anime fan, they had quite a bit of gachapon from popular animes like demon slayer, spy x family and dragon ball z. There is a machine that accepts cash or card which will give you the tokens to play. We also found a cool cotton candy maker vending machine near the food court but it was super expensive, I believe $10 or so for one and the machine itself didn't look very well kept. All in all, had a fun experience here!
