When I noted the debit, I immediately phoned Kohl's and spoke to their representative who handles fraud. She appeared to be helpful and informed me that the purchase was made for rain boots somewhere in New York. A check of our account does show an order made by someone at the Commack, New York store (991) for rain boots. I was told that it normally takes sixty days to research, however, this appeared to be a clear case of fraud, and we would receive the money back in a short time. It did not happen. I contacted Kohl's several times, to no avail. I then did a little research early May 2024 and found the email addresses for the CEO and one of the other corporate officers. I emailed them and got immediate attention. We finally got a refund over three months after our money was taken. We were told that a mistake was made by a Kohl's employee and they had lost our complaint. It is clear that had I not contacted the CEO, we probably would not have gotten our money returned. There was no apology from Kohl's...no small form of compensation for their error...only a short letter stating our money was refunded. As a result, we no longer use a Kohl's credit card and will refrain from shopping with them in the future.
