You know that saying that customer service continues after the purchase??? I've been taking my car here for years. Mike and Ethan in service are great, and tho it's expensive to take your car to the dealer, they accept coupons. One of the perks are free car washes. Usually not a problem, but tonight the wash wasn't turning on. I sat there for 10 min. Saw the detail guys different one 3 times look out at me and went back to talking. Really not difficult to figure out; I mean I'm not at a Starbucks drive thru! I called the dealership phone number talked to 2 sales people that sent me to an operator. Again, come on guys, it's Thursday night and there are no customers in your lot buying cars. You have time. Take the 30 second walk ALLLLL the way to service to get someone to turn the wash on. I had a pretty bad experience with Ed Napleton Acura and Kia. I was looking for a Mercedes-Benz GLS 550. CarGurus and their internet team indicated that they had two. When I arrived, the vehicle that I had expressed interest in was unavailable. I was told that it had been sold. I was later told that it needed to come down from Wisconsin. The reality was that it had obviously been sold or traded to a dealership in Wisconsin. My salesman Syed was new and tried to pressure me into looking at other cars that I wasn't interested in. After I left the dealership, he proceeded to call me multiple times per day for weeks. When I expressed to him on November 26th that I'd purchased a vehicle over the weekend, he abruptly hung up the phone on me. Crazy. I ended up buying a 2017 Porsche Cayenne S and a 2015 Mercedes-AMG GL63 from Napleton's Aston Martin and Maserati and Motor Werks, respectively. Happy ending: Napleton Acura to the rescue and save!!!!! 5:50 pm on a Rainy, Dark, high traffic night in Chicago. My low tire light came on. I pulled into the closest auto shop which ended up being Napleton Kia in Elmhurst. Entered the service dept to ask if there was anyone that could check my tire and add air so I would get home safely. The service rep (not mechanic) informed me that they would be closing in 10 minutes and was not going to help me. I just wanted my tires checked and add air if needed and yet he refused. I was reminded that they would be closing. Drove 50 ft away, entered the Napleton Acura dealership, spoke to a salesman in the lobby, advised him of what Kia had just said. He invited me to pull into the service center, personally came out to check my tire, filled it with air so that I could make it home. WONDERFUL SERVICE. To find out that they are sister companies was disappointing! Work ethic and professionalism couldn't be further apart. I did call to speak to a manager at the Kia dealership, nice enough guy, apologized for the treatment. It wasn't like I wanted my engine rebuilt, it was a tire air check. 10 minutes of customer service could have gone a long way. I did remind him that negative feedback travels faster than positive. So I had started my car buying search by I accidentally going thru my bank's TrueCar site. It sent my contact information to the local dealerships and Ed Napleton Acura was one of them. I wasn't quite ready for the phone call from the dealerships. Patricia O'Brien not only left me a message, but she emailed me. She never once called me again, which is fine by me because I really didn't want to talk to anyone on the phone. She was consistent with her emails, which I prefer. She was able to answer all my questions about the 2018 ILX I was looking for. She seemed absolutely pleasant via email. After emailing back and forth for about week or so, I made an appointment to come in and test drive. I told I wasn't ready to purchase until the end of the month, but I wanted to see the car and feel it. One week later, I go in for my test drive. I ask for Patricia and one of the gentlemen goes and gets her for me. While I was waiting for Patricia, Terick (spelling?) introduced himself and helped show me the ILX. Patricia came and introduced herself and she was what I thought, bubbly and pleasant. She told me she's only the internet sales and that Tony(Terick) would be helping me. I went on the test drive and loved the car. I knew it was the one, but I wasn't ready. Tony went through a rough estimate of pricing and I told him my budget, but I wasn't ready. Then in comes Connor. I thought "Great a pushy sales guy". Nope! He just asked if I was going to other dealers and if I was that he can beat what others will offer. He gave me his card and I was off to do other shopping. Fast forward to this past week of March 26th. Patricia had reached out just to touch base and informed me of the incentives they are having for the month end. One of them was an accessory I really wanted. Then Connor reached out via text and asked if there was anything he can answer or help with. We conversed via text and settled on what I really wanted. I asked if I could come in Friday, but I wasn't quite too sure if I was ready to put down and buy. Now Friday rolls around and I go back to the dealership. Connor and Kristen greet me and Connor provides me my quote. It was close to my asking price but it wasn't there. He took the quote and said don't worry I'll take care of the extra and adjusted it to my asking price. Next thing I knew I was signing papers and putting money down. Craziness. It all happened so fast. Kristen took me to see Gene, the finance guy, and he was hilarious. Dry sense of humor, but funny, nice and straight forward. Got my registration and everything done quickly. Then Kristen walked me to my brand new 2018 ILX and took the time to go over all of the features of my brand new car, well not all the features because there's too many. But she was so personable about going over the car with me. I thought I would have to go home and spend hours trying to figure out the car. Nope, Kristen really helped me out. She even gave me her cell number so I can call if I had anymore questions. So in the end, after a month of searching and working with everyone at Ed Napleton Acura, they made my first car buying process so easy and painless. I cannot say thank you enough to their team. They were not super pushy like I had just experienced at a different dealership. Connor really worked with me to get to my budget price and it was a great experience. Honestly, if it wasn't for Patricia who sensed that conversing over the phone was not my style and stayed persistent, not pushy, through email, I would have not continued with this dealership. She was the one who drew me in and I thank her for her kindness and assistance. Now I am a happy proud owner of a 2018 ILX with the Tech Plus package. TLDR - They're liars and didn't even do the work they promised As a former Napleton4Life customer, I received a letter offering a free oil change, tire rotation, brake check, etc. Had no problems scheduling the appointment or dropping the car off. Was told by the service advisor that it should take an hour and a half and I could use the free shuttle to get to a nearby meeting. To return, call the dealership and ask for him. Seems simple enough... My 1-hour meeting concludes, I call the dealership and was put into the service area's voicemail where I alert the staff that I'm ready and the number to reach me at. I wait 10min with no callback and since I had to make it to another meeting, I decided to take an Uber at my cost to get back to the dealership. Once I arrived, I was told that I need to change a couple of fluids and that it should take 20mins. I agree and unfortunately, it doesn't get better. To put a bow on this horrendous experience, it took over an hour for this 20min fluid change to happen. So if you're keeping track at home, I dropped my car at 730 am and was finally able to pick it up at 11:55 am. 4+ hours to do a tire rotation, oil change, change 2 fluids and do a brake check. To top it off, I get into my car and my tires weren't properly inflated so they made up the PSI on the report that they provide. Photo is from my their parking lot after I was given my car back with improperly inflated tires, no car wash (they said I declined it in the paperwork but was never asked), etc. I emailed the GM and filled out an Acura survey, where I was promised to receive a call. We showed up to purchase a car listed for $24,995 and the very first thing the salesman tells us is that there is an additional $3K fee that was NOT listed on their website nor mentioned when we spoke on the phone. Supposedly this is due to the vehicle being owned/sold through a 3rd party, despite the Carfax stating it was purchased at an auction. About $75 and at other ACURA PARTS DEPARTMENT you can get it for 30... I called all Acura's in Illinois and this place is full of dog*** I still haven't gotten my refund after I told them I wanted it the following day when I called other Acura stores. They even said they had a manager do the refund but still nothing....... Not only did they scam me I don't even have the vent I paid for after almost a month. Down and dirty- if you are prepared for a long day of negotiating, these guys will play ball, and you can leave happy and with a fair deal. If negotiations are not for you, do not come here, you will get screwed. We do our research and were attracted to a 2017 MDX about $2000 less than other comparable listings in the area. Score, right? Stated it was certified used which would allow us to have the 0.9% 36 month or 1.49 % 60 month financing . Great. We had read the reviews that these guys were notorious bait-and-switchers so hesitated to even come, but we aren't afraid to walk away so we thought we'd go check it out. We work with Abe, a likeable sales rep, and we like the car so want to see some numbers. They tacked on an additional $7900 (yes, you read that correctly) in fees. First, to have it come "certified" they wanted an additional $3595. Any other dealer i have ever been to has that certification built into the online list price. Then, $1200 out of state processing fee because we are from Indiana. What?!?! We've bought multiple cars from out of state and have never seen this. So, we negotiate the $7900 in fees down to $3095 and from our research it's still a good deal for us so we want to proceed. If we didn't need to absolutely buy a car that day, I would've walked out based on principle alone, but we were pretty stuck. Next, the financing show begins. We meet with a first guy who does a very generic explanation of the warranty Options to us which we turn down all of them. Then, Sam the main financing guy, explains those all over, again, but the price of each is padded into the loan payment so you never see the true price of what you're buying only the per month price which seems negligible, until you run that out over your financed 5 year term and realize you just added over $3500 to the cost of your car. We declined. Then, I calculated on my own phone the math of our new monthly payment which should have been $13 less than what he came up with. Sam had explained that this was protection (vin etching and 1 year window shield protection) that had already been accounted for in the certification fee and it was just separately itemized due to regulatory compliance issues. I did some simple math and it revealed to me that was not the case and that it was an add on that over 5 years with interest would have cost me $799. A quick talk with his manager had that removed. He gave us some premium protein bars from his own stash to appease our hunger as we were famished by this point. That was very kind. We were there from 11am-315pm. As we left, we noticed there were no floor mats, and it appeared that the gas gauge had less gas in it then when we test drove it leading us to believe they had siphoned gas from the tank as a part of the "detailing process " they offered. Abe quickly grabbed some floor mats from another vehicle to make us happy. Handed us his business card with a cell phone, and encouraged us to call if we had any issues. Bottom line - Sam and Abe were nice guys, just running their ends of the business the way that Napleton Acura taught them to do. I have no ill will. If you come here, be wary because they will try to squeeze profit out of your deal at every turn. Even when you think negotiations are over, they're not: Come well rested, on a full stomach, no kids , and be prepared to walk if they play hardball. read more

The service department is smaller than other Acura dealers I've been to. They usually only have 1 or 2 service advisors. The service advisors are also the cashiers which can slow the process. They never finish the work at the promised time. The last time I went, the men's room didn't have any soap which is disgusting. The coffee machine was broken. I usually go to McGrath in Westmont which has a nicer waiting area, better coffee bar and McGrath Acura is obsessed with delivering exceptional customer service. read more

Let's talk about a real experience. If I could give a negative of 1000 stars I would. Firstly, always remember the price that they show is not accurate. They tried to tell me that Acura charges a $2995 pre certified inspection which is INACCURATE. The saleswoman named Lavern literally walked out and told her manager "F&&ck You!!" During our negotiation. If you tell them you are pre approved THEY DO NOT CARE THEY WILL STILL RUN YOUR CREDIT OVER 5+ times. Please read the FINE PRINT!!!! Read the fine Print!!!!!! I called multiple dealers to verify the pre certified inspection cost. Secondly the sales Manager had multiple sheets where he manually input inaccurate numbers. I was already approved for an amount and they denied me stating that I HAD TO PUT MONEY DOWN?!?! Violation of 15 USC 1605(a) and 15 USC 1662(2). I am an Area Manager for Verizon and our company listed this dealer as a partner, yet it felt like an enemy. Laverne literally pulled off with the vehicle I chose!!! What?! Like drove it to another location. The financial advisor Russian guy literally Satan himself in flesh. Tried to pressure me into signing documents with another lender after I repeatedly stated to him that I wanted to go with the provider I was pre approved for!! 3-5 times until I keep reading the fine print and noticed he was still doing what I asked him not to. I searched for 2020 Acura MDX which seems to be a glut of inventory in a tri-state area and average discount off MSRP - including factory incentive - is @ 17-18% and a couple dealer offering close to 21%. Having laid the backdrop, I noticed that avg. saving for Napleton was 18-19%. I dumfounded when they sent me the pricing at 17% off MSRP then added $5,000 of dealer added crap no other dealer adds bring the discount to 10%. Don't buy at Napleton Acura. read more

This used to be a great dealer. It's not now. People say that the car business is shady and it is because of people like those who run this dealer now. I had a price for a used car and they then they tried to slide in a $900 processing fee and a $2800 inspection fee to the car. There was no explanation why these were legitimate. No respectable dealer charges these. The only reason they would do that is to take advantage of suckers. Every non-shady dealer prices their cars as the price of the car + tax, title and license. Seriously, these guys are scam artist. I went in with my wife to buy a used car, they must think I'm stupid since I normally wear a suite for work, but today I was in flip flops and shorts. I work for a bank that does indirect lending for car dealers. The price was about $30,000 let's say, after taxes license and title fees they came back with $39,000 I said really, why, they had an extended warranty in the deal on a car that already has 3 years left. That's called payment packing. I bought the same car elsewhere with 3k less miles for the same selling price for about $33k out the door. They should not judge people and try to rob them. This auto dealership are a bunch of crooks! They advertise a nice price but have no intention of honoring that price without buying things you don't want. This is called BAIT and SWITCH, and it is illegal. After test driving a used Acura, I was prepared to pay their advertised price but the rep came back with thousands of dollars added on - $2900 for the "Napleton Experience", $1500 to certify the car which is advertised as certified, $1200 doc fees, etc. Our sales rep stated these were mandatory fees, which meant the car price was no longer competitive and they wasted our afternoon. There are many Acura dealers in Chicagoland and none of them lie about their prices, except for Ed Napleton. Stay away!!!! read more

My wife and I purchased a 2020 RDX tec with 3500 miles on it. The car is supposedly certified, at least that is what we paid for, after getting the car washed and looking in the sun there are scratches on the outside of most of the door glass, when operating the power tailgate there is some popping noise as well. these cars are supposed to be problem free, and inspected . We contacted Matt and Rich, sales managers who said there is nothing they can do about it, bring the car in and they will look at it. My wife brought the car in and completely wasted her time, said they would sell her another car with another 5000. They offered to fix the glass for 1300.00. I am 54 years old, have bought many cars over the years and have never been more disappointed in a deal on a car. We even bought the 7 yr extended from these guys. I will end up having the work done at another dealer, I cannot believe the treatment we've received. The "Napleton Experience" was horrible, there are plenty of Acura dealers in the Chicago area, I wish I had picked another. I would leave NO stars if possible read more

I won't make this long since we already wasted so much time at this dealership. Before going in I called regarding a Certified RDX that was featured for $34k. We already knew what we wanted so went straight to the numbers. This all of a sudden went up almost $7k because of the "Napleton Experience" the certification warranty that was separate and some other b.s. add on. They guy then said, you're better off buying a new RDX which of course was $47K. We were done. We know how this crap works. We went to other Acura dealers and there was no b.s. add ons!
