The two workers came out and got the entire job completed quickly and efficiently, leaving my yard clean and back like they found it!

They charged almost $2k for this incomplete job so I told them not to come back. I asked to speak the the owner, but he was too busy for MONTHS to ever return calls. Would have paid the bill immediately if he had ANY customer service skills or was apologetic about the lack of quality. He finally got in touch to demand that I pay my bill and refused to discuss the mess they made of the job. I told him I'd settle on $175 an outlet as market rate. He did not contest that price and asked when his check would arrive. I paid him. He is still hounding me. Bob Owens does NOT stand behind his quality of work and is perfectly fine leaving your home a wreck. As long as he gets his money.

As always, they were professional, polite, and able to get us on the schedule quickly. (One of the outlets that was not working is the one that provides electricity to our tankless water heater). We are first time homeowners and admittedly unfamiliar with all things electric (hence the call to an electrician when we could not determine why several outlets were not working). We had tried the breakers but did not know/think to look for a tripped GFI switch. In less than 10 minutes, Alcorn head located the trip to GFI and push the button. We were then sent an invoice for $150.00 To say we were shocked was an understatement we absolutely appreciate that time is money and have no problem paying for peoples time and professional services.... but in this instance to maintain $150 callout fee when the work required was simply to locate and reset a GFI switch left a very bad taste in our mouths. Even a reduced fee would have been more decent in our opinion. As I mentioned, this is not in any way a reflection on the quality of work and professionalism that Alcorn provides. They have done substantial jobs for us in the past and we have been nothing but pleased. Unfortunately this last encounter has left us searching for a new electrician for future jobs. Alcorn appears to have many positive reviews- all deserved. I am certain this won't impact their business, nor should it. We were just caught off guard by the charge and after asking others in the community their opinion- all were in agreement so we opted to share our experience.

They were great (i.e. they put up with all my questioning). One star was removed for not contacting me that they were ready to install my new box until they were parked outside my gate. Fortunately, I was home and available. Great work! I will be using them again to wire my barn. Highly recommended by me.

Our most recent experience completely broke our trust. During our winter maintenance visit, the first technician said our furnace had a cracked heat exchanger and needed to be replaced. Concerned, I asked for a second tech. He confirmed "cracks," said the inducer motor was failing, and recommended an $8,000 furnace replacement. When I asked about warranty coverage, he repeatedly insisted the equipment wasn't under warranty because it likely wasn't registered when we moved in seven years ago. He also pushed replacing our AC due to upcoming refrigerant changes (R‑410A), quoting $20-25K for both systems. Feeling unsure, I agreed to the furnace replacement and paid half upfront. Still uneasy, I checked the manufacturer's warranty myself. Within minutes, I confirmed the furnace was under warranty, 40 years on the heat exchanger and 10 years on the inducer motor. I called Classic to cancel and get a refund. It took two calls before a manager responded. He processed the cancellation but offered no apology or acknowledgment. To verify the furnace's condition, I brought in another reputable HVAC company. Their tech explained the supposed "crack" was actually a scratch, smooth not structural and the inducer motor noise was likely from slight imbalance. Neither issue required immediate replacement. He also noted their techs are paid hourly, not on commission. I can't say whether Classic's technicians work on commission, but I felt there was a strong incentive to upsell expensive replacements we didn't need (conflict of interest). I canceled our subscription with Classic and explained why, but no one followed up. I'm sharing this so others don't end up in the same situation. Always get a second opinion and check your equipment warranty, it can save you thousands.
