The group from "All in 1" did not delay bringing in other folks to help. When the job was completed they cleaned up the entire area and stacked to old material neatly outside for bulk pickup. Costwise: "All in 1" was within the range of other companies but is on the high side for the DFW market, but we felt we got our dollar's worth for the task and would use them again.

Then, later that same evening, I accidentally broke the cartridge while trying to install a new shower handle. We suddenly couldn't turn the water back on to the entire house. What I loved about Ace is that I worked with a great customer service/project manager (Connie) who helped set up the job for success. We had a few brief planning calls and the Ace staff was available and communicated throughout the jobs. I had two separate visits. The first crew was adequate but the second handyman, Brian, really did an outstanding job from start to finish and handled the more complex jobs that I had lined up. He also corrected some of the previous mistakes to make sure it all was in working order before wrapping up. Everything was transparent and I received detailed invoices and cost estimates. The work has really made a difference in how I feel about safety at home and it's nice that so many things are no longer broken! Ace Handyman will definitely be my go-to next time!

Broken Promises, Unfinished Work, and Threats of a Lien…read more I thought my experience with Ace Hardware Handyman Services couldn't get any worse, but I was wrong. After posting my original review, I received a call from Ace Hardware Handyman Services. The representative was very apologetic and assured me that this was not how they conducted business. He offered to send someone out to finish the job at no additional cost. In good faith, I offered to pay the original quoted price once the job was completed. However, because the handyman chose not to use the CertainTeed vinyl siding corners, claiming they would develop holes during a hailstorm, additional J-channels were needed. I had to special-order the extra materials, delaying completion. Before I could even call to schedule the remaining work, Amy called demanding another $2,250. I explained that I disputed the charges and believed I owed nothing beyond the agreement we had made. She transferred me to Gary, who apparently knew nothing about the promise to finish the job at no additional cost. He refused to verify what I was telling him and stated that no one would return to finish the work until I paid the outstanding balance. He then threatened to place a lien on my house if I did not pay. The original job was estimated at 16 labor hours, yet after two days the siding was largely unfinished, and I was already more than $1,100 over the original quote. I cancelled the third scheduled day because the amount of work completed did not justify the escalating labor charges. After all of this, Ace Hardware Handyman Services has once again agreed to finish the job without charging me anything more, and this time I made sure to get the agreement in writing. As the saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." I will post another follow-up review once this small shed project is finally completed. It should never have taken this much time, money, and frustration to get a relatively simple siding job done. This has been one of the worst contractor experiences I have ever had. For now, I cannot recommend Ace Hardware Handyman Services. Whether they follow through on their latest written commitment remains to be seen.
