I honestly feel like this place is a hidden gem in Deptford. I came here on a Saturday, a little later than we had planned, but just in time to snag the last of the white chocolate almond croissants with cardamom. Seriously, that single item was worth the entire trip, but add to that the chili and goat cheese danish and you're at a whole other level. I think after this visit I'll have to make a weekly pilgrimage to this lovely bakery. Everyone was so sweet and kind and enjoyed what they were doing. That's the kind of atmosphere you want to soak up with a cup of coffee and something baked fresh out of the oven.

Is a nightmare parking outside on the weekends as people come from far and wide, but it's definitely worth the bother.

The bakery has plenty of seating both outside and in. The smell of fresh bread fills your nose as you enter and there's a warmness to the staff and the people within. We didn't eat in today but we will definitely be back. Instead we grabbed a chocolate cookie and a salted caramel brownie and we went on our way. 5pm came round and it was cookie time! The cookie was packed full of chocolate chips and tasted wonderful. It was very crumbly but I liked this about it. I can only imagine it warm and gooey - NOM. Next, the brownie. Moist and melt in the mouth, it was truly delightful BUT I couldn't really taste the salted caramel, it just wasn't strong enough over the chocolate. Still a great brownie. As, I said, I'll be back for lunch. Those pizzas are calling my name.

Came to pick up the cake on the agreed date and was informed that no cake has been prepared. I love crumbling buttery croissants and epees of baguette.. This bakery is more of what I would classify as 'English' with various meaty items stuffed in a flaky, yet heavy dough. Besides these Cornish pastry type items, there are a few sweets that look a bit too sugary for my tastes and some soups. I gotta admit, though, you can probably fill up when you tank of food calories is low for less than four pounds. The place is also local and independent which tends to shed favorable light upon a place in my eyes. I probably wouldn't want to eat lunch here, as I prefer things a bit less meaty and heavy (at least when it comes to food), but if you like them British-type pastries, you might fall in love.
