Since most people get on yelp to complain I decided to leave a review with my experience. I had Marcus come out to my home today. While I have been a customer with Ecoshield for more than 8 years and am pretty happy with their service, Marcus did an EXCEPTIONAL JOB today. I did not answer my door so he had no idea I was home and I saw on my cameras how thorough he was. Actually I was very impressed. I waited until he was done with the service and went out to the car to let him know he did a fantastic job and I appreciated it. Everyone should take pride in their work like Marcus does. This company is completely unethical. I was told this would be a one time charge to remove ants but they secretly signed me up for a quarterly recurring plan. They also lied about their guarantee and refused to give me my money back. When I called to cancel they kept transferring me and giving me the run around. After over an hour on the phone they said I could cancel but there would be a $200 cancelation fee for something I never agreed to. I refused to pay the fee and then they said it was too late in the day to cancel (4pm) and hung up on me. I had to call my bank to cancel my card and file a chargeback. They are also facing a class action lawsuit because of their deceptive sales tactics and blatant violation of contract law, which should give you an idea of what a scam they are. I highly suggest anyone dealing with their scam does the same thing I did, especially considering the FTC 3 day cool down rule which lets you cancel within 3 days of any home solicitation sale. When I brought this up to them the sales person tried to get off the phone and transfer me. Save yourself the headache and avoid Eco Shield like the plague. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with Ecoshield. I was told a full attic inspection had been completed and that my home had major mouse activity. That turned out to be untrue. One of my attics was nailed shut and inaccessible. There is no way it was inspected. The other attic had minimal signs of activity, and the technicians confirmed there were no mice or nests. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the technicians tried to "fix" things by adding insulation to the unsealed attic, which felt like a bait‑and‑switch tactic. This entire situation has made it very hard to trust the company or the services I was sold. On top of that, I was also sold a contract for garage door seals--only to be told later that the service couldn't be performed because Ecoshield didn't carry the seals for my type of door. The technician even mentioned that this service should never have been sold to me in the first place and this contract was canceled. Between the inaccurate inspection claims and selling a service that couldn't be delivered, I feel misled and frustrated. I requested a pricing adjustment to reflect the actual conditions, but the overall experience has left me questioning the integrity of the inspection and sales process. read more

I had good service for a while, then they did an exclusion service with snap traps in the basement. I was told I could call and schedule a follow up to remove the dead mice, then after I paid for expensive exclusion service they refused to do so. By the time I found another company to remove them, flesh and fur was stuck to my floor in the spots the mice were. These photos reflect the sort of pest "solutions" you can expect from this terrible company. He didn't have them on hand, and said he would be right back in 3 minutes to provide one to me. Went outside after a few minutes and found him snooping around my back yard. Personal are very polite, but the products they use are worthless. I called because I had ants in my kitchen. They came out on Aug 15 to spray kitchen and basement. The ants are worse than when I first called them. I am being told I have to wait 2 weeks to let their product work....for the ants to carry product back to the nest, blah, blah, blah. Tomorrow is 2 weeks. They are going to "squeeze" me in for an appointment. But the won't happen until Sept 9th. I ask the person I talked to if he would like a growing infestation of ants in their kitchen. This person told me they don't use the most effective spray at 1st application because the ants will get use to this spray. So they start out with the least effective spray. So I have been living with this problem since Aug 15th. I will not pay them until the problem.is resolved. In addition, I will not be using them for the life of my 2 year contract. They offer a $200 discount that so conveniently needs to be paid should you choose to cancel your services after their 3 day grace period. Called customer service, they were no help. This sales person offered to solve this problem knowing it is a violation I was not aware of. Lots of things are problematic in life... Do not utilize this company. Their salespeople will "give you a discount" because they are servicing your neighbors. It is not a neighborhood discount, it is a subscription discount and if you try to cancel your subscription, they will charge you $400. Also, because they schedule the service on the same day, even if you cancel in the first 3 days, they will still charge you the $400 fee. DISHONEST company, DISHONEST and pushy sales people.
