We contacted Smithereen because we had an animal in our attic. They came out quickly and inspected our attic and found that a squirrel decided to setup camp. They have been great to deal with and affordable to inspect and setup traps and catch the squirrel. They caught one and will make sure here are no more before taking the traps away. Had Bernie come out on two separate occasions to help with a wasp issue we were having around the peaks of our house. This late in the year, it was getting annoying to have them out with us in the warmer weather. Bernie even checked the inside and all around my attic to help me look for a nest inside. We didn't find one, and when he came back out the second time, he advised to just "try to hold out another week if you can, it'll get colder and you won't have to deal with them anymore". Not often you get "free advice" and not an up sell of services. I will definitely be using Smithereen in the spring to treat and prep for wasp season. Firstly, let me give kudos to Mr. Phil Scott. The serviceman has been extremely helpful and understanding. Mr. Scott eased my concerns and recognized I was extremely petrified of the mice in my house. Now to Smithereens as a company, Smithereens needs to evaluate how they treat and/or proceed with follow up visits. Until October 24, 2019, I have been extremely stressed by mice invading my house. Unable to sleep, cook or just live in house. I am ready to leave house until all mice are gone. In my opinion the first month requires more than one visit, especially when new deification is seen and the mice are boldly running in front of you or could be heard. Smithereens is charging $600 for a year's treatment which is a lot of money, only for 4 visits per year. The part that really concerns me is the initial contact person and/or sales rep. Iggy did not explain clearly what I was receiving for a years service. Iggy should have explained that the technician would come to my house only four times except if I saw evidence of rodents. If there's is evidence, Smithereens should take into account the customers as some customers are extremely stressed, upset, anxious and downright fearful to the point of making themselves sick. Evan, one of the two Technicians assigned, called ahead and was very professional in gathering even more detail and confirming my location. Then, Evan and Alex both arrived, on-time as we had discussed, met with me before completing the inspecting of the yard and also did a walkthrough of my property to confirm no burrows nor dens of critters. Submitted a request for service online on a Saturday and received a call Monday morning. The person I spoke to seemed very knowledgeable. However, I was told they do not serve my area. I visited the website prior to submitting my request and I reside in the green area on the map. I was really disappointed. I desperately needed their services and saw many great reviews. I decided to call them directly and realized it was a different location that called me. The new person I spoke to was able to get someone to come out later in the day. read more
