Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Our TV didn't work and we didn't feel like having someone come up and deal with it. We chose room 402 because it was at the end and should be quiet. We received a lot of outside road noise and a nearby train which ran often and when the heater kicked on, it was like a motorcycle was in the room. We didn't stay for breakfast but it looked like a typical Hampton Inn breakfast.

As in, I was in a cab and had to tell him where to drop me. I didn't want to pay a lot for one night so I asked him to just drop me here. On the plus side, the staff was very nice and accommodating. The grounds were clean. The air conditioning worked better than in most upscale hotels with their new "green" a/c that turns off when you go to bed and doesn't go cool enough. This was a BIG plus for me. The room was mostly clean. There is a mini-fridge. On the down side, there was dirt on the sheets. They appeared clean and washed, but like something had been set on them and left grit behind. I had to shut the bathroom door because I could hear the neighboring room as clearly as if they were standing in my bathroom. But once I shut the door it was quiet. The toilet didn't flush very well - it took two flushes usually, and sometimes continued running until I shook the handle. The fire alarm is ripped out. Maybe it was replaced somewhere else, but it was just missing from it's original location. The phone kept cutting my calls off so I had to resort to my cell phone. Overall though, it wasn't a bad stay for a cheap hotel.

The frame under my bed was load, like a tin roof, but they are actively working on that issue. For me there was 2 issues. The price of the room was crazy, $230 for 1 night. I stay at BWs all over the country. This was twice the price of most, and much the same as the others. In my mind, there was nothing that justified the price being so high. This is the reason I give 4 stars. The 2nd major issue was the woman screaming at the top of her lungs, at 3am. She wasn't screaming for help, she was actively trying to wake up the entire hotel. Even with the sound proofing, she was off the rails. Thankfully the Sheriff came just as I was going to introduce her to the find out phase of messing around. This was not the hotels fault. It could have happened at any place. As a result of the chaos, the manager gave me a partial credit. I am grateful. But still it cost too much. If the price came down to what I normally pay for a BW, I'd stay here again.

We asked them about the bed bugs accusation in other reviews and they were honest and upfront. A guest had brought in bed bugs once and the room was immediately sealed off, exterminated and fixed. The owner (I'm assuming) was very helpful and accommodating to our needs (she even checked in on us). The breakfast is very simple (cereal and packaged muffins basically) but included in the cost. The lobby was clean and the women behind the desk were friendly. The cleanliness stopped there. Our room was absolutely disgusting. Huge stains and rips in the carpet, torn plastic shower curtain, no remote for the outdated TV, holes in the bathroom walls had been patched but were in desperate need of paint, the floor in the bathroom was so sticky I didn't take my shoes off, a dead bug was in the toilet, no iron or ironing board, I could go on and on. If we didn't only have an hour to get ready and leave for the wedding, I would have left immediately and demanded a refund. I will never stay at this hotel again and neither should you.
