We were able to put our big ole truck next to the rig easily. It was super quiet and everyone was friendly. The owners are very kind and caring. They seem like they enjoy what they are doing. The only reason I gave this park a four instead of a four five is there are no laundry facilities or bath house. Although we didn't need either, it's good to know in advance so you can be prepared. It takes about 15 minutes to get into town. Not many good restaurants nearby but we decided to cook. We also perused the flea market. Okeechobee is a truly unique place where everyone says hello, holds the door open and is friendly.

Every site is paved with manicured landscaping. Plants in between sites provide privacy. 50 amps FHU, big rig friendly. Boat ramp conveniently located inside the resort, great for RVers who are here for fishing There's boat/trailer storage area in the end of the park, for renters to store the toys. There are gators in the lake, so you don't want to swim in the lake! Wifi, outdoor pool, pet friendly, gated. Although not many amenities, but there is a big tiki by canal equipped with outdoor seating, great for chilling and hanging out with friends. Big dog park for our fur baby to run freely. Dog bags are provided through out the park, very thoughtful. However there's no trash by the dog park or anywhere near by to throw away. Can only go to big dumpster. We love this park! It's a great location for weekend getaway for us. We are thinking of coming here once a month!

This is the visitor's center at the St. Lucie Lock and Dam operated by the US Army Corps of…read moreEngineers. Admission is free and it is open 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday through Saturday. I stumbled on the visitors center while waiting for the lock to close so I could cross over to the nature trail. This ended up being a great way to pass the time. At the Visitor's center I learned that US Army Corps of Engineers is the number one provider of outdoor based recreation in the United States. They manage over 450 projects on 12 million acres of public land. Inside the center I had the pleasure of meeting Clem who volunteers. Displays explain the history of the lock and dam and the health of the waterway. There are historical photos and artifacts, interactive displays, and a table of stickers and books for kids. The visitor center offers free field trips for area school children. They also have a lovely back patio that overlooks the lock and where you can bring a lunch. If you visit the lock make sure you stop by this informative and welcoming center.

There are three distances: 18 miles, 50k (31 miles), and 50 miles. The course runs along sections of the Lake to Ocean trail following the orange blazes on single track trails that are typically wet this time of year. However, a sever drought which precipitated the Everglades fires left most of the trails on dry conditions. The race is basically a charity that donates money for musical instruments in a school in Argentina. The race is well supported with excellent aid stations. It's a very good race if you are trying to prepare for Keys 100 or the Lake 2 Ocean race in May and June respectively, as temperatures are usually hot for this race. The single track trail meanders through wonderful everglades area and is home to many wild animals including snake and alligator. All year round there is recreational hunting and fishing. There is a youth camp but you'll have to have children to overnight. Otherwise, camping is permitted in many locations as well. If you love trail races and don't mind getting dirty this is a great one.

Parking lot was immaculately clean and coincidentally so were the bathrooms. My humble opinion., which is the whole purpose of this app, this is one of the best rest areas if you are taking 95. I was able to get adequate rest stretch out my legs for a bit procure some snacks for the road and get in some shut eye. It was a safe environment and stopping here was a smart choice.

I prefer the food court style rest area of the turnpike but these work too in a pinch. When you enter the rest stop, cars go to the front and trucks to the back. This rest stop is located northbound in Martin County at mile marker 106 in Palm City. It is typical of the kind you find on I-95. You have clean bathrooms, covered picnic tables, and vending machines. People who need to walk their dogs can do so in a designated area. I do enjoy paying a visit to the vending machines. They now take debit cards instead of just coins and the prices for items are still reasonable. You can get a variety of candy bars, cookies, chips, ice cream, and pop as well as a hot cup of coffee. This rest stop has plenty of clean bathrooms which is a big plus. Near the rest areas is the usual bulletin boards featuring a map and missing kids. While I-95 rest stops are basic they get the job done so you can get back on the road quickly and on to better places.

These nice people kept $240 bucks, wouldn't even half it with me or slip me the taxes I paid. I told them I would be a returning customer since we picked up the railroad contract here, apparently that 200 ment more than the thousands in the long run. What I call can't see past their noses. The fire ring and landscaping was very appealing. In the morning, we checked out the campground and found a really pretty gym that had great views of the lake. This is a Fishermens dream vacation with a dock on most lots. Overall, the campground is clean, quiet and the staff are friendly. If in the area, I would stop there again.
