I'm rating this hotel based on what it is, a cheap hotel. For a cheap hotel it was pretty fair. I…read moreneeded a hotel on an emergency basis, with no time to do any research. As in, I was in a cab and had to tell him where to drop me. I didn't want to pay a lot for one night so I asked him to just drop me here. On the plus side, the staff was very nice and accommodating. The grounds were clean. The air conditioning worked better than in most upscale hotels with their new "green" a/c that turns off when you go to bed and doesn't go cool enough. This was a BIG plus for me. The room was mostly clean. There is a mini-fridge. On the down side, there was dirt on the sheets. They appeared clean and washed, but like something had been set on them and left grit behind. I had to shut the bathroom door because I could hear the neighboring room as clearly as if they were standing in my bathroom. But once I shut the door it was quiet. The toilet didn't flush very well - it took two flushes usually, and sometimes continued running until I shook the handle. The fire alarm is ripped out. Maybe it was replaced somewhere else, but it was just missing from it's original location. The phone kept cutting my calls off so I had to resort to my cell phone. Overall though, it wasn't a bad stay for a cheap hotel.

First of all, this was my 1st stay in Okeechobee when I moved here in 2019! The place is quite,…read morethe staff is great(especially "Lulu") and room rates are reasonable! Then why the low review you ask?? Let me explain... In the last year or more, I have encountered a bizarre situation in which this Days Inn refuses to allow me access to the better quality rooms at the main facility because I have a "service dog!" I have been informed by the check in staff(not Lulu) that all pets including service pets are required to stay in an adjacent building other than the main building per the owners instructions! Now folks, I book my lodging by CLC(Corporate Lodging) and I get a decent discount when I book a room. Getting a discount does not mean we travelers get the "worse" rooms available! The so called "pet headquarters" as one guest explained it is a 3 floor building with many issues both inside and out. The rooms are mostly the same disgusting smell of staled cigars or weed, stained carpeting and poor furnishings and nothing near like the rooms at the main building which are 10 times better! Why would you want to come here and pay a nice rate but be forced to stay at the dog pound when you bring your pets/service pet?? This to me is borderline discrimination at the most and unethical as well! This morning I brought this matter up with the morning clerk upon "deaf ears!" Choice words with a funny expression told me instantly that she didn't care one bit what I said and that irritated me but I kept my cool! She certainly lacked customer service experience/skills nor did she want to provide a positive response! In fact, her response was quote..." I will go ahead and check you out and you don't have to come back!" Travelers...if you have no pets/service pets, by all means come here and enjoy yourselves! You will get the main building with excellent rooms, a breakfast and a nice outdoor pool to soak in the rays! I'm not sure if the "Pier II" lounge is open because of the COVID 19 but I have been there prior to the Covid-19 and it was a really nice place to relax and have a few suds! I hope the management reconsiders their errors and make changes and definitely upgrade the "dog pound" building cause it needs serious renovations! If you are traveling with pets, I highly recommend that you stay at the Best Western in the town of Okeechobee. For an average of $15-$20 more, you'll get a great room, a friendly & professionally maintainEd area and no headaches! You can always come by and ask for the classic Lulu...she always has a smile and a warm heart for everyone! Tell her Pops & Savannah sent ya! Time to check out...for good! Hello Best Western....

Everything you don't want To quote Bette Davis: "What a…read moredump!!!" The evening and morning desk clerks were really nice. That was the only positive... Filthy room. Dirty bedspreads, stained carpet, 1 of 3 bathroom lights worked (the other 2 were full of dead bugs), really dusty light fixtures, broken hairdryer. Room stank of either cheap men's cologne or cheap cleaning products. From the look of the place I don't think cleaning products are being used here. Can't rate the tv - didn't watch. Was afraid to try the coffee/breakfast so can't rate that either. Place needs to be gutted and rebuilt, or condemned.

This place isn't closed! It may have been down for renovations though!…read more This place is cute and worth the money. The room was clean and the bed waa comfortable. We asked them about the bed bugs accusation in other reviews and they were honest and upfront. A guest had brought in bed bugs once and the room was immediately sealed off, exterminated and fixed. They were very adamant about fixing the problem. It was obvious that this one incident has probably cost them a lot of business (which is sad because we enjoyed our stay). The owner (I'm assuming) was very helpful and accommodating to our needs (she even checked in on us). The breakfast is very simple (cereal and packaged muffins basically) but included in the cost. If you're looking for a nice place to lay your head for a more than reasonable price...then this is perfect!

The lobby was clean and the women behind the desk were friendly. The cleanliness stopped there. Our room was absolutely disgusting. Huge stains and rips in the carpet, torn plastic shower curtain, no remote for the outdated TV, holes in the bathroom walls had been patched but were in desperate need of paint, the floor in the bathroom was so sticky I didn't take my shoes off, a dead bug was in the toilet, no iron or ironing board, I could go on and on. If we didn't only have an hour to get ready and leave for the wedding, I would have left immediately and demanded a refund. I will never stay at this hotel again and neither should you. Spend the extra $40 and stay at the Hampton Inn. Then you won't have to sleep fully clothed in fear of catching bed bugs.

There were some snafus in the beginning but we always found the staff amenable. We love having our meetings there as the Conference Center is quite large with 3 small meeting rooms in the back. The restrooms there are spacious and there's a great water filter for filling water bottles, too. We keep coming back also because the rooms are comfortable. Okay, it's not the Waldorf Astoria, but we're not paying luxury prices, either! And, some of our folks like to boat and/or fish and they can launch right here. And, did I mention the great Bar at the Boat House? It is right on the water with not only great drinks but amazing views of the the huge birds that make their homes near by. It's a great deal and we feel at home there.

Secondly, please if you have stayed there check your credit card receipts as to a $250 dollar charge for "smoking"... They will charge you in hope of you not noticing....
