We agree with the top rating reviews - excellent, honest, and timely service. Mitch was knowledgeable and response time was terrific. Cannot say enough about the professionalism shown by all. We had 3 other companies out who didn't help a bit, but still charged for telling us the wrong thing (get the part) and that we had to order it and when it arrived, then they would come and install it for $400. Turns out that was NOT the problem - Mitch quickly diagnosed it as a wiring problem and it was fixed in under 30 minutes. Note: no new part was needed! Convenient and great service! read more

Called at 2:30PM - Doormaster Micah came 30 minutes later and finished the repair in about an hour. It doesn't get any better than this :) Micah was very thorough with his work and took the time to answer all my questions and even show me some tips. I really appreciate businesses that operate so efficiently. I now know why they have been around since the 1930s. Great service. Will definitely use again when my garage door bonks on me again. Thank you! read more

We have been using them for over 10 years. Comes on time and do excellent install jobs, however, parts are getting pricey compared to 2-3 years ago. read more

Amazing! I called them to schedule a repair. First they asked what was wrong and then told me that it was a simple problem that could be solved over the phone and they didn't want me to have to pay for service call since it was an easy fix. Spent 15 min on phone with me getting it sorted. For Free. This company has integrity and decency and expertise. Much gratitude. read more

Came for an estimate right away and worked with me to arrange an install date. Installation was excellent and I love my new garage door!

I contacted this place inquiring if they carry an item made and used by my LiftMaster garage door opener. They promptly replied to my inquiry and honestly told me the best and fastest way of obtaining the sought item by myself on line. Wonderful experience! I deeply appreciate their honesty and it's extremely rare it still exists. I firmly believe how you carry yourself personally reflects how you operate your business practices. Thanks so much, Econo Door Masters! read more

On time, under budget and quality workmanship! What more could you want? Excellent job!

Called them to check out our garage to see what's wrong with it. Guy came and said battery needs changing in our remote, programmed the car to the garage door, and within less than 20 mins he was done. Very quick if you need someone to come out. Charged me $127.00 for the initial call that took 20 mins. read more

Called them for a quick/easy repair on my garage door. They scheduled a visit from estimator next business day. He was on time, and friendly enough, but never called back with my estimate. It's been over a week, when I called to ask about it they said they had no paperwork from him and he'd call me back. Still waiting. I suspect the job isn't big enough to warrant their attention, but I'm without a functioning door until I get it fixed, and would've appreciated some consideration. Will update when I find a better company to recommend. read more

These guys were great. They were able to come out and replace my malfunctioning garage door motor the same day I called. They were quick, and efficient, and did an excellent job installing. Very refreshing not to wait weeks for parts these days! The maintenance guy even greased my old springs and did maintenance on the door itself. Very happy with the price, quality of work, and affordability. Have used them in the past and would definitely use again! read more

This morning our garage door torsion spring broke on a very heavy wooden roll up door. Needed it fixed quickly. Called Econo Doormasters at 11:52 am, they had someone at the house working on it by 12:24. Entire fix done just after 1 pm - slightly over 1 hour from my call for service, and the door works better than it did before, quieter! Incredibly fast, friendly, fixed the problem and wore a mask without my asking. read more

Had these guys install a new opener 13 years ago. Not one problem since. The main spring finally broke, leaving my car stuck in the garage. Called and Micah answered. He apologized for not being able to come out that day. Gave me a two-hour window for the following day and called when he was on his way. He managed to get my door open so I could move my car. 1/2 hour later, the job was done. Amazing service and reasonable prices. read more

Our neighbors asked us about our new garage door ; here's the RFP response 1 - Did you shop around? What brands did you look at? We only shopped around for providers/installers at 2 places (we were under a serious time constraint). 2 - What made you decide to get the one you did? (It looks very nice.) We didn't look at any specific brands of doors. We went on the door recommendation of the estimator. 3 - What's the name of the company you used for installation, etc.? We have had problems with our door off and on for a few years. The folks at Econo-Doormasters in San Carlos helped us before, so we called them first. Artistic Doors was also suggested to us, so Justin checked with them, too. The Econo folks were available sooner (and on a Saturday) and had a slightly better price. 4 - The Grand Pooba Question: How much did it all cost (door, installation, etc.)? $1659 including the door, the vents, the motor/opener, all hardware, hauling away the old door and installation. 5 - How long did it take to get it done? The first available apt was 8 days and it took about 5 hours for it to be done. The Artistic Door people were even further out in their scheduling and we couldn't wait. 6. Oh, yes: Are you happy with it? LOVE IT! read more

What can I say? I moved into my home on 26th Avenue in October, 2004. Luckily, the existing electric garage door had endured for a very long time. Econo-Doormasters (Jeff) was always available for the upkeep over time. In February, 2022, things started to happen: "major "creaking", major sagging, and constant "tweeking" to keep it functional. Jeff was very kind, and said the "tweeking" could continue. I asked him about replacement, and he said it would be my decision, but it was a good idea. So, I did it! Ordered in February, 2002, and installed April, 2022 (Jeff said it would be a "while" due to back orders. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful the new door is. It allows a lot of light into the garage (had been very dark), and actually beautifies the home a great deal! I highly recommend Econo-Doormasters. They are efficient, personable, and always available for whatever garage door needs you may have read more

The logic board on my garage door stopped working. I called Econo-Doormasters and I am very happy with their service. They were straight with me on my options to fix it; prompt in acquiring the replacement part and in scheduling an appointment to fix it. I should also give a special shout-out to Glen who came to fix the part. He was courteous and took the time to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. Also gave me some great tips on maintenance. The next time I have a problem with my garage door, I would go back to econo-doormasters in a heartbeat. read more

Spring on my garage door broke so was trapped at home. I thought it was the opener and made an appointment to have it replaced 3 days later (next available appointment). When I discovered it was the spring I called to see if there was anyway someone could come earlier. By luck a tech finished early and was willing to take my job. Professional job, fast, cleaned up and took time to explain features. I have been using them for years. I am cheap but do not bother to shop because I want to support local businesses and I am always totally satisfied with their work. I highly recommend them as your first choice. read more

The garage door we used to have was also a non window, heavy, old, broken wooden door. We would only open it probably about 3 times a year because it was a pain to close it back up and properly lock it. A man all the way from discovery bay/antioch area came down to see if he could install a door but he didnt have the right one in stock. We decided to go with econo-doormasters. They came in, took the old one away. They did their install in one day. It has a row of windows across the top too. Once they were finished all we needed was to apply a coat of primer and a coat of paint and thats it. I now am able to open it with great ease and so far this year we have opened it about 3 times a month. read more

We came across Jeff of Econ-Doormasters via the EichlerNetwork website after reading his interview about Eichler garage doors. With Jeff's help, we custom designed the replacement of our dual garage doors for our mid-century modern home. Jeff came to our home for a free consultation and advised us what we could and couldn't do to keep the original asthetic, but with roll-up functionality. We provided Jeff the same horizontal tongue and groove cedar as our recently rebuilt front fence, from which Jeff had the custom garage doors faced. We asked Jeff to line up the garage door horizontal grooves with the grooves of the fence. Also, we wanted the garage door split roll-up sections to be hidden, keeping a flush look when closed. At install, Jeff's crew lined up the grooves perfectly and you can't tell where the doors are split for rollup! Fabulous job Jeff and Econo-Doormasters! read more

Econo-Doormasters installed a 1/3 HP garage door opener for us 20 years ago, and it finally failed as a consequence of an unrelated electrical failure. We got the electrical issue resolved by an electrician who offered that if I bought an opener at Home Depot, he's install it for $300 to $400. He said the whole thing would be about $700. I called Econo-Doormasters to look things over. Micah, the tech, was very prompt and polite, and attempted to replace a capacitor and repair the old opener. But it did not work and he recommended not replacing the motor for a opener that old. Since the switch was also unreliable, I opted for a new door. Econo-Doormasters offered to replace the entire thing with a new 1/2HP motor, new switch and wiring, new sensors, and new remote for just $359, parts and labor! So they took a credit card for a deposit, and after the unit arrived, they installed it promptly and perfectly. Micah even re-programmed the remote in my car! I very highly recommend Micah and Econo-Doormasters. read more

Richard was extremely professional, courteous, pleasant and helped me resolved an issue with my garage door opener, as well as create a spare. It was not a big job for them, but he took the time to demonstrate and explain how to set up the new remote up at home. It is so special to receive this kind of personal and attentive service these days. I will certainly use them again, as it was a pleasure to do work with them. read more

Great service had a problem with garage door opener called in to see if there was something I could do. Tried a few things no luck. They had two technicians at my house in less than an hour. This place is trust worthy. I called this week and asked someone to come out and fix my old garage door which hadn't been working for a while. The guy called me back in 10 minutes, had a service person out in 30 minutes of my calling. Diagnosis was right on. Needed a new cable on one side. They also tested my super old motor from the 70's and it's still working but the outlet where the motor was plugged into was dead which is why I thought the motor was dead. So, now I have a perfectly working automatic garage door again. They charged me $99 for service & rest for parts. Total for me was $121. I was expecting a much worse bill. Great for me. The garage door is pretty old. So when this one craps out, I would definitely call Econodoormasters again to replace the garage door. I would highly recommend these people. read more

The lights on our garage door were out and changing the light bulbs didn't do the trick. We didn't like what we heard from the first contractor that we called - $$ for just diagnosis; probably be the electrical board but we would be better off changing the entire unit because ordering parts take time; etc. etc. Econo-Doormasters was different. They did not give us that kind of preamble and instead simply set a time to come out and look. Micah came on time, was very responsive and thorough, and gave me good advice to maintain the garage door. Of course, he fixed our lights as well (and it wasn't the board after all). I would definitely give ED a call if I have any other garage door problems. They are good. read more

I called Econo yesterday for a repair of my 30 year old garage door in San Mateo. Frankly, I was expecting the very worst since I know squat about garage doors other than mine which was stuck half way down the opening and askew by literally 18 inches to one side (several wheels off track and not a safe condition). I was prepared to have to spend thousands of dollars on a door replacement. I called Econo and chatted with Jeff, who said he would get someone out right away. His tech (his brother no less) showed up in under an hour and to make a long story short, the entire job was done for $99.00. If his bro (sorry forgot his name) had said "oh my god, you have a 30 year old door. It must be replaced, I would have had to deal with that. The fact that he was so meticulous in his analysis and his fix (retension of springs and adjustments of old tracks) made me feel comfortable and the fact that he said "all it needs is xyz" and he presented me a $99 bill was simply a great feeling. Honesty goes a long way. I would highly recommend this honest firm. They came out fast, no hassles and did not sell parts I did not need. The tech was more knowledgeable about the history and workings of garage doors than any man on the face of the earth. Impressive. read more

Our left side spring broke on our garage door on Friday the 13th (wouldnt you know it!) and because it is a heavy wood 2 car garage door, I could not lift it open. We had to get the kids to school so we were desparate to get this fixed ASAP. Even though it took from 8am to 8:15 for someone to answer the phone, once they did answer, they were very responsive. Richard answered the phone, told me how to lift the garage door and promised to have a technician out within 20 minutes. Sure enough they were out here in 18 minutes! Richard was great as was Juvio the technician. I would highly recommend them! -David read more

Econo-Doormasters is simply the best! The tech (Glen) is extremely personable, knowledgeable, carries parts in his truck and fixed the garage door problem quickly and effectively. The repair cost was very reasonable and will definitely call on them again for any future issues! read more

they installed a new Delton garage door and a new LiftMaster 8355 opener. The quality of door is excellent. However, the opener gave a lot of bounces on the center track connected to the opener when opening and closing the door. I complained to Richard and he sent couple guys over to inspect. Finally they replaced the opener with the LiftMaster 8550, a battery drive and backup opener. The bounces and vibrations on the rail were gone and it is working very smooth and much quieter. The company is very responsive and Richard is very friendly. Highly recommend it. read more

Our garage door recently broke a spring and it needed to be fixed. I called Econo-Doormasters on a Sunday and first thing Monday, they returned my call and came over. All the work was done in 45 minutes and they managed to make it work better than it ever was. Very reasonably priced and very good service. Next time I need my garage door fixed, they'll be the first ones I call. Highly recommended. read more

Came home on Thursday evening to find that the garage door wouldn't open, and upon further inspection it looked like a spring broke. Called early the next morning and spoke to Jeff. He let me know his recommendation for the fix and quoted what was a very fair price. I asked about when the work could be done expecting Monday or later and he said that someone may be able to make it same day or Saturday! He called back a few hours to let me know that someone could come out the same afternoon. I wasn't going to be home so I asked if it would be ok to just leave the side door open and he said it was no problem. Got home a few hours later to a perfectly working garage door. Not only was it fixed, but the rails were cleaned up and the garage was running smoother than it was before. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back if I need anything to do with my garage door! read more

Ask for Richard who is knowledgeable, trustworthy, and patient with all my issues in the past 10 years. Located at Belmont on El Camino, I called him after a half hour of frustration with Genie Company who wanted to send out a technician for $100 just to program my remote. Richard helped me in 5 minutes. When my tiny purse remote broke at the one year mark, Richard replaced at no extra charge. I need info reprogramming very old door keypad and he found the instructions and sent them immediately. Great customer service and trustworthy. read more

Five stars for Econo-Doormasters! I knew for a while that my garage door needed service but kept putting it off. The other day the bottom roller came out of it's track so I had to get it fixed right away. I called Econo-Doormasters and Todd came to see me in less than 2 hours! He gave the door the onceover, tightened all the nuts, changed the bad roller and also another one ( he said it was worn out), lubricated everything and gave it a thumbs-up. The service charge was very reasonable, $117 including parts and the door works like a charm. I can barely hear it when it's opening or closing! Thank you, Econo-Doormasters, you are the best! I would never call anyone else! read more

Exceptionally outstanding! I'd do business with them all day, everyday. If only all companies were this solid, professional, and knowledgable. My first encounter with Econo-Doormasters was back in ~2014, when they installed two garage door openers for me. It was a "custom" install for a home with doors that opened sideways. They were highly recommended and trusted by our community, and they exceeded my expectations (solid work, neatly installed, etc.). Fast forward ~6 years later.. I was trying to program a Liftmaster 374UT remote. Nice remote, but has its own quirks/wonkiness when programming (see Amazon reviews, etc.). Try Google you say? How about YouTube? Liftmaster support (worst of them all, BTW)? Tried them all with no success. I was about to return it, but wanted to give it one last shot (after having already spent way too much time). I was at my wits' end, and decided to call Econo-Doormasters as a last ditch effort. A gentlemen answered the phone (unfortunately, I didn't catch his name), and I started to explain my situation. Without trying to verify that I was a previous customer and probably realizing that I wasn't going to buy anything, he immediately started to help me troubleshoot. He kindly gave some instructions and advice on how to proceed, and a recommendation for an alternative remote that may be easier to program. Long story short, I got off the phone and within the next 5 minutes, I was all set. Helping me program a remote may sound trivial, but it was a major PITA and their willingness to help without any hesitation goes a long way in my book. Thank you Econo-Doormasters! read more

Wish there were more stars to give... Because in my opinion they're a 10! I am so happy with the way my install went! Flawlessly ;o) Jeff was amazing from the beginning to the end... He took time to show me what was available in the type door I was looking for... He was informative & knowledgeable... It truly was one of the most efficient experiences I've had so far in my redo... I absolutely love the my new door... I highly recommend Econo-Doormasters... Thanks Jeff! read more
