And I wasn't wrong! The tour lasted about 90 minutes (and it leaves promptly FYI) and takes you along the shoreline of Amelia Island - past the shrimping boats and past a Civil War era fort - before heading towards Cumberland Island National Seashore. This is where the true fun of the tour was for me. I had no idea really the history of the island and found it fascinating how the Carnegies and Rockefellers and more of the country's elite used this random Georgia seashore as their private escape. The history of both Cumberland and Amelia Islands is incredibly fascinating and the guides for both the Florida and Georgia sides respectively were well informed and personable. Plus - you'll very likely see a ton of great wildlife throughout including dolphins and wild horses and pigs. It's a great way to spend an afternoon in the area and a fabulous introduction to Cumberland Island National Seashore/Park.

The tour was about an hour and was very informative. We asked lots of questions and met people from different departments along the way. Highly recommend booking a free tour and checking this out. I filled out the reservation form online and was told there were no spots available during our time in Florida. I couldn't take no for an answer. I emailed back explaining how much my son wants to be a Robotics Engineer and that we would wait as long as we needed to snag a spot. We got an email back the next day that two spots opened up!!! She gave us a set of headphones and a speaker we could wear around our necks, so we could hear her narration clearly over the traffic. Our two hour tour was chock full of sights and sites! Toni was fun, knowledgeable and engaging. We had plenty of opportunities to comments, ask questions, and even get out of the vehicle to take photos or admire certain locations. We cannot WAIT to take another tour (or three!) Highly recommend - this is a fun date for couples, families, or friends!

There were 16 of us and only 10 or so "pedals"; however, once we learned that there really wasn't a point in pedaling we quickly turned our pedal tavern into a karaoke & bar on the water. Our time was from 6:30-8:30pm, it wasn't too hot and we were able to see the sunset. We all brought our own coolers and cups; however, the boat had their own cups, as well. We also brought a garbage bag, but there was a bucket in the back and a trash can up front near the Captain. Prior to the event, I would just double check where you are set to meet. Originally we were supposed to meet at Met Park and then visit River City Brewing Company during our half-way point, but the day prior our launch location had changed. So we ended up taking off at Friendship Fountain (next to River City Brewing Company) and then this also served as our half-way point - which we took some pre & mid-way shots :) I am glad that I did it and loved the people that joined in on the fun, we would definitely do it again (if we could fill it up) even if only to enjoy a two hour boat cruise on the river. On the walk you learn some history about the areas visited and/or even something new. I have personally been on the tour few times and they are the same, but different. The tour used to start at The Landing, but since that has been torn down, the tours now start at Hemming Park. Both tours included a walk through the tunnels under the city, through historical buildings, a view of a silent movie filmed in Jacksonville, the Jackson monument, history talk and a tour of the secret bank vault. However, where the differences are is on one tour we visited the Florida Theater and the 42nd floor of the Bank of America building.......it had amazing killer views of the city! On the other tour we visited the library and to my surprise there is a lot of history in there that you wouldn't know if you didn't take the tour. We also toured Hemming Park and the general area (yes, there is history there). Depending on what is going on in the city and/or buildings, your tour may be different than when we went. The tours are informative and well worth it. Notes: There is not a designated area for parking, however, you can park at the library, use street parking or any other public parking area. There are restrooms located inside the Library and later at the tourist office as well.

It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!
