From his immediate response for a quote to the moment these gentlemen walked out the door, there isn't a thing I would change about our experience with Eco-Junk. We had an upright grand piano which was irreparable, and these gentlemen disassembled and removed it quickly and professionally. They are on time, polite, and meticulous in their work. Because the piano was over a century old, there were LOTS of ornate parts, making it bulky and difficult to maneuver, but I watched in awe as Steve communicated to his partner in getting it through the room, down the steps, out to the curb, and into the truck. I got a confirmed estimate and set up a 9:00 am schedule with Steve, the owner which he confirmed by email "that I was in" for the date that we set up...Today, 9:00am they are not there, I call the owner at 9:15 he did not answer, another call 9:30 no answer... Each time I called before he always answered the phone so I know he was just blowing me off... He left us hanging, sitting and waiting for him without even the courtesy of a phone call... Totally blew us off and left us in a really bad situation... This company deserves minus two stars... I trusted the past Yelp reviews and he just left us hanging Eco-Junk is a horrible company and unless you have an alternate plan beware putting your trust in this company... Suffice it to say that: Initial appointment to meet for an estimate was postponed to the next day just one hour before the meeting; Timeframe quoted to do the job (clean out items in an attic and a basement) was extremely under-estimated (quoted 4-6 hours in one day but took 14 hours over 2 days); Price for the job was under-estimated and additional cost added before job was done. Total price was still reasonable; Two strangers showed up with no identification or supplies (stupid of me to even let them in!). However they were respectful, worked very hard and did a great job even though they came with no supplies but a truck. I supplied the brooms, dustpans, trash bags. Learn from my mistake...make sure you get something in writing from this company. read more

Back in April, I called Eco Junk to help me move/ take away some things out of my childhood home after my Mother's passing. Steven and his helpers were simply amazing! So professional, reasonably priced, and more than anything careful with my family heirlooms. I was so impressed that I reached out to him again to help me with some landscaping and mulch. My wife and I hired Eco-Junk to load a 26ft moving truck in preparation for a cross-country move. I had a mixed experience with Eco-Junk but the bottom line is that the positives outweigh the negatives by just a bit. Pros: Steven was responsive and easy to talk to on the phone. He clearly communicated the pricing scheme which was fair and transparent. We did have trouble connecting a couple of times via phone, but that was almost definitely a technology issue. He was friendly, professional, and a good conversationalist. I called to confirm our loading appointment the night before and I'm glad I did because somehow the text with the details of our move never got through, but Steven was still able to send out two guys at the agreed upon time and make it work. The guys who showed up to do the move were polite and on time. They took four hours to load the moving truck during some pretty warm weather which seemed fair to me considering the circumstances. The price of the final loading was exactly as Steven had quoted me and seemed a fair price. On arrival to our final destination most of our belongings were in good condition with a couple of exceptions (see below). I was glad I hired movers to help with this hard work. Negatives: Though very nice the two guys loading our stuff weren't very professional in a lot of ways. They arrived in an unmarked car wearing street clothes, and one of the loaders spent the whole morning with his shirt off. Not a deal breaker, and it was hot, but after hiring a similar company to unload at our destination who came in a branded car with simple uniforms, this felt out of place. They didn't bring any tools to disassemble the furniture, even though I was told by Steven that they would. Luckily, I had my own tool bag they could use, but after using my tools they left them laying around randomly on the floor, and I had to pick them up to keep from from getting lost or damaged during the process. The didn't seem to know how to use the appliance dolly that I rented with the moving truck. They repeatedly went down the small step from our front door backwards, not using the small wheeled-conveyer on the back of the dolly which is expressly meant to help move up and down stairs/steps. On two different occasions they dropped boxes hard as they tried to pick them up ("Ooops, it slipped"). They moved at least two pieces of fine wood furniture straight against the metal dolly with no protection against the wood and the steel even though I provided furniture blankets. Finally, there were two items that they packed in such a way that resulted in damage--one box clearly marked "Fragile" with a ceramic sculpture in it which was crushed, and one bookshelf that was placed against the back of another bookshelf with no protection resulting in damage from the protruding screws. All of this together made the loading day pretty stressful for me, which I'll admit was a combination of my own anxiety and the occasionally dicey methods of our loaders. I wish Steven and his company all the best and the name "Eco-Junk" is charming. With a bit more careful training and professional practice the experience of employing this company would be a bit less stressful. Be well! read more

I had a problem moving just one particular item, so wasn't sure Eco-Junk would be willing to take it on. It was a very heavy cast iron fireplace insert. Anyway, to keep things short, the entire process went extremely well. I was given a call prior to their arrival, so I knew to expect them. Unlike some movers I've had here for other things, though, these guys were friendly and polite. They took care getting the insert out and placing it in its new location. The price was fair and reasonable and not an issue. If I need something moved again, I'll plan on calling them first. read more

I had called and set up an appointment with Eco-Junk to meet me at 3 pm at my house for an estimate, I cancelled my outing with my children on Saturday thinking this guy from Eco-junk will show up. At 3.35 pm there was no news from him, I called him to ask if he was still coming, he had no clue who I was, I told him I spoke with you yesterday and you texted me saying you will come today , this man had no idea about anything, he tells me that all his text where erased, then he asks me to send him my address again which I did, after that he goes blank again never calls or shows up. I called Eco-Junk to get a clean out for the company I work for. Initially we had a day and time set. I had called back to change the date as it would have cost my company another months rent. He told me he could do it and gave me a 12:00 arrival time. At 12:30 I text him and he told me he was running late and he would call me soon. I waited until at 2:00 I text him again, he told me that the job he was at was way more involved than he expected and he would be there around 6:00. I waited until 6:30 and text him back he than informed me that he would not be able to make it there. At that point I ask if he would be able to make the original appointment the following day and gave me a time frame of "3:00, 100%." I asked if he could call me a half hour before arrival so I could meet him there to let him in. Wasted 8 hrs. time and a half the first day along with a months rent. A no call no show the second! They got 1 star because he text me back. read more

They did very well. Floors were done with a scratch resistant coating, all surfaces were cleaned ( only marks left on the baseboards are where they're scratched from our dog and in need of painting) carpets were shampooed, and bathrooms look really good. I hired this company because of the previously glowing review on Yelp. Unfortunately aside from the initial quick response, the experience has turned out to be costly in both wasted time and money. The move had been scheduled when an hour before their anticipated arrival, I received a call stating that their truck had broken down. Steven gracefully apologized and promised to be there the following morning. The next day came and they were late. They were driving a U Haul truck -- not even a company truck! (Which i had been told there were 3 of) Anyway, Elliott, the foreman on the job, came to the door and introduced himself. He was polite and courteous. The other three workers followed him in and I could see that they weren't professional movers. By the time they moved the two truck loads, I had two broken floor tiles, one of them had hurt his finger moving a cabinet and there was blood on a bunch of things, including my mattresses! The dining room table was scratched - as was most of the other furniture. Don't get me wrong, the guys were nice. They just weren't movers and had no business trying to get this done. (One of them kept carrying on that he was hungry and hadn't eaten since the night before -- you were going to move someone to a new location, wouldn't you have eaten breakfast at least?!?) They were ill-prepared: They asked me for blankets to wrap a glass top, etc... C'mon, aren't you guys supposed to be ready for these types of things?!? End result: it got done. It wasn't pretty, it was far from perfect, it surely wasn't professional... But most of the big items were moved. Now I just have to clean, fix, paint and repair the damaged stuff. read more

My furniture was going into 2nd and 3rd Floor of my new home and they handled it very carefully. Also, they were very nice people to work with during what is always a very stressful day.
