When I returned for the cash, he suddenly mentioned a 20% "search fee" that had never been disclosed. I politely asked to see where this policy was written, and he became defensive and aggressive. Instead of explaining, he told me I could take $240 or leave. When I questioned it further, he tore up the check and told me to get out and never come back. I was shocked. This aggressive behavior was unprofessional and completely unnecessary. I would not recommend doing business here.

We came here to rent some. I believe it cost $10 per chair for the day (but it may have been $10 for 2 chairs). It was a short walk from here to Kapa'a Beach Park which was nice. When we were done, we just dropped off the chairs and were on our way. This was the perfect place for us to rent some beach chairs. They have lots of other beach stuff too.

Briggs also rents bikes if you are on vacation and want to ride down the bike path. Briggs also services and does maintenance on our bikes when needed. He just replaced the chain and cables on my beach cruiser.

He offered a lot of advice about where to go on our bikes (local hidden gems) and we were so taken back by his willingness to help out a couple newcomers to his side of the island. Usually, in these kinds of places, the locals hide these things from us "mainlanders" but not for us. I am not saying he will give up these spots for you but if you treat him with respect and kindness, he will do whatever he can to make sure you and your crew have an amazing time WHILE using his bikes. On the other hand, if you are snotty and mean, I could see him sending you on a 10 miles uphill bike ride . For us, when we are in Kauai, we will ONLY use Pedego for our bike rentals. I feel like I gained a friend and felt like I had known him for a very long time and if that is not hospitality, I don't know what is. His process is solid, he isn't trying to be the next Trek- he and his family are just trying to live the life we all wish we could. Sean thank you so much for everything. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and had no trouble finding parking. The shop is tucked in a convenient shopping plaza with plenty of restaurants and shops - perfect for grabbing a bite or browsing after a bike ride. What really made this experience great was the service we got from the owner, Robert. Pricing was very reasonable for a 2-hour rental, and helmets were included, even though they were required anyway. The ride itself was beautiful--lots of scenic views, and we easily had enough battery to cover several miles. The bikes had great speed and throttle and were really easy to use. The bikes were very good with great throttle and speed. We had an amazing time and enjoyed our bike ride through Kauai and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the island. In fact, we initially tried to rent from Pedego Electric Bikes Poipu. We called ahead, and they confirmed they were open, but when we arrived, the doors were unlocked and no one was inside the office. We waited for 10 minutes and no staff ever showed up, so we left. Thankfully, Kauai E-Bikes welcomed us right away and we were taken care of immediately. Very fast and efficient paperwork processing and then we were off enjoying our ride. The owner said don't worry if we're weren't back in exactly 2 hours. They were so generous but we came back 15 minutes earlier than expected.

After seeing the very favorable reviews on renting from Holoholo, we decided to try them out on our…read morerecent Kauai vacation. We were excited to take a family ride up the bike trail, which we've done many times before with other providers. I'll jump to the reason for this zero star review. Service - the young man at the checkin desk was of zero help in adjusting seats, handle bars (both rusted shut) or adjusting our 8 year old's helmet. Selection - the absolute worst inventory of bikes I've witnessed on our multiple trips to Kauai. Every one was full of rust and looked like they were retrieved from the landfill. The Keiki bike's chain came off twice going up the hill and one of the adult bikes chain came off - both bikes had to be replaced (took almost an hour to receive the replacements). Value - prices were similar to other shops, but we've never experienced this many problems with any bike rentals on Kauai. My son-in-law requested a refund and after a heated discussion by phone where he was verbally berated by the owner (he also severely berated his employee) he granted him a partial refund. BUT not before the owner called him a scammer and said he would not have replaced the bikes (both broken down with no chain) had he known he would request a refund! WOW! Just a word of advice to any potential renters - go check out the place and its inventory BEFORE renting from Holoholo. We love Kauai and use local vendors whenever possible but WE WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS PLACE!!
