This is a warning to anyone who comes across this company. Christian and his dad Jose worked on our building. Christian admits to taking $40,000 dollars we paid him and using it for either other projects or personal use. We were told he failed to pay subcontractors, and gave one of them a bad check. One of the subs kept threatening to put a lien on our property unless we covered Eco's bill. He left our building unfinished when he refused to continue to work without renegotiating the contract price and also caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage when the building was not protected from rain. He was supposed to have insurance to cover damage, it appears this was not the case. We believe he also took additional money but that will be addressed in an upcoming lawsuit. We have put a claim into his bond and have been advised that there are 3 pending claims against the bond. We have filed a claim with the cslb and expect their license to be eventually revoked due to all of the alleged illegal activity. The cslb appears to have already issued some sort of warning to his company for another job. Please make sure you research this company before hiring them. Some tips - check the cslb, call his bond company, verify insurance and do not pay anything in advance. At last check his license was noonger valid. We are looking in to criminal charges due to the intentional fraud. read more

Unprofessional and poor customer service. I paid for specific work that was not completed, and I was charged more than what the results reflected. After walking off the job, they refused to provide a refund for the unfinished scope. I'm now forced to take additional steps just to recover what I paid. Christian Escobar and his father Jose from Eco Builders should not be trusted. We had a contract with their company to do a home renovation but his crew was very inexperienced and made multiple mistakes (my sons entire bathroom tiling had to be broken 2 times and we had to bring another tile guy to finish). Chris kept on changing the terms and asking for more money every week without completing the job. He kept blaming me that I was not making payment which was false (if you look at his reply to another reviewer it will be clear that he uses this lie so he is not held accountable). Once I stopped the payments he just abandoned the job and disappeared after making promises to finish. We also had a project manager Haida sheikh/Yousuf that misrepresented herself and the 2 of them defrauded us of a lot of money and time! I would urge everyone to NOT hire them as their contractor license 1033460 has also expired. read more

I had Eco Builders complete two bathroom remodels back to back in the Summer of 2024. Overall, it was good work, that has lasted, and at a fair price. The good: Christian and his crew a nice to work with. All of his guys that worked in the house were courteous and clean as they worked. The work is good, I paid attention every step of the way and the work was done thoroughly, and when not correct, Christian made it right quickly. The price was fair, bathrooms aren't cheap, but for the scope of the work I think we paid the right price. The bad: I was quoted 7-8 weeks for two bathrooms. It actually took about 13 weeks for both bathrooms to be completed. That's a long time to have a team of people working in your house. There were a few mistakes that I caught that I felt shouldn't have been made in the first place. Shower supplies were installed too low, the pattern in the floor tile was crooked on first install, and a few other little things that had to be remedied. I will say the additional work orders got out of hand, part of that is my fault for not being absolutely sure of what I wanted until we were in progress, and at other times I felt I was being taken for a ride. Overall, it's been almost 8 months since Eco Builders finished my bathroom remodels, I'm very glad that we did the work and I'm happy that I chose Christian and his team. I was referred to Eco Builders by my partner who has used them several times in the past. We had a major leak in our roof during the heavy rains a few weeks back. We called Eco and they came the next day and fixed the roof the same day. We knew that they had done a good job because we had another storm two days later and the roof was perfect.
