Armando was responsive and professional. He gave us a quote to patch a square hole (approx 2' x 2') in some interior drywall. After mudding it in, he matched the texture on the wall and primed and painted it to match the rest of the room. He also offered to take care of priming our metal front door and then painting it and the frame as well as installing a new lock set, a project my husband was going to do but Armando had suggestions on how to do it better so it would last longer. I received a quote from Mr. Hernandez for painting my home interior. The quote was 12 K more than the other quote I received and my house is only 2200 ft.² so it was on the high side. whe I told him this he offered to go down about $8000. Painting in the Santa Barbara County area is very expensive so just beware that there may be wiggle room in the quote. Update on review. We are THRILLED with Armando's work. It had been years (try 20+) since we had our living room/dining room/hallway painted and things were really falling apart. Armando communicated so well with us. He not only gave a reasonable estimate, but when first walking around the house, he pointed out areas in the walls and ceilings that needed more than just paint, and he explained how he would fix it. We got several estimates and no one else made us feel confident the way Armando did. He was thorough and didn't cut corners. He's very clearly a perfectionist, and it shows in his work. He cares about the work he does. It's quality, and he wants you to be happy with it too. He spent time on details I would have never thought of, and ensured our house will look great for years to come. He made sure to do the extra prep work to protect our furniture and wooden floors, and vacuumed everything afterwords any time he sanded. I should also mention that he did all of this while my dad was working from home in the office, and always made sure to create pathways and make things easy on us during the week he was here. He patched up cracks in the walls, thoroughly. Did a beautiful job painting, recommended glossier paint for the fireplace mantel and on the wooden molding trim. He truly transformed the interior of our home and made it feel welcoming and brand new again. And while the work is what matters to most, the most important thing to me is Armando was SO kind. I purchased a lovely hilltop home in Solvang but it was 30 years old and in need of some repainting and minor repairs. The skylights had leaked during last winters heavy storms and there was drywall in need of repair as well. In addition, termites and woodpeckers had damaged some exterior beams so quite a bit of varying work. I did some checking online for a company that could handle these various repairs fully expecting I would need to find several contractors to do the work. Since it was a nicer home I wanted things done to a high level. After some searching I found a company Hernandez Quality Painting that listed that they did painting indoor and out, drywall repair and wood repairs with an emphasis on quality. They are licensed and it all sounded good plus the reviews were very favorable so I contacted the owner Armando by phone. He was very nice, professional and responsive and came out within a couple of days to assess the work and gave me a quote within another couple of days. He stressed they do quality work and do the job right by explaining the process he recommended for the repairs. Everything was clear upfront so there were no surprises. I expected a very high quote but when he sent it to me I felt it was very fair for the job. Armando was also very particular about the paint and getting the perfect match with existing colors. He sourced low VOC paints and came over several times to color match paint until he got it spot on, I was very impressed! His crew, while not completely fluent in english, was very talented and took great care to do the job to a high degree all while protecting floors walls, plants and sidewalks from paint drips, dust, or any other remnant issues from the repairs. Armando's brother Carlos did two areas of drywall repair and he started by putting protective paper and plastic tents around the affected areas to protect floors and prevent dust from spreading to the rest of the house. Again I was impressed! Carlos did the job right by layering the plaster to cure it correctly and getting it perfectly smoothed to match existing walls. He also matched the cream white paint perfectly so you could not tell any repair had been done. He also fixed a buckle in the drywall above the fireplace near the high vaulted ceiling junction. Again, perfectly done to the point you could never tell work was done. He painted the length of the chimney to the ceiling to make sure the color matched due to slight fireplace caused discoloration. Amazing! Armando kept me informed of the work schedule and progress and was responsive to any questions I had. I spent a little time getting to know him and found him to be a hard working and caring family man who took pride in his company and it's stellar reputation. His crew reflected these same values and were great to work with. As time went on I added more jobs to his workload to paint the interior of my garage, a rusty iron gate and to repaint all exterior doors including garage doors plus he repaired and refinished the front door threshold. He fixed the woodpecker damaged exterior wood and rebuilt the end of a termite damaged exterior beam. When he finished all the work the house looked amazing and like new again! I HIGHLY recommend and would use his services again in an instant. read more

We recently had our home's exterior painted by Hernandez Quality Painting and the whole process from initial quote to completion was a pleasant, easy experience. Armando and his team are professional, efficient, great to work with, and respectful of the homeowner and the property. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. Now this area was painted by another paint contractor three years ago but was peeling and blistering when I contacted Armando.
