Can you say wow!!! Now, THIS is a salon that stand by their word! After being turned away from one salon, I decided to give Eclipse Salon a call to see if they took walk ins which was true, but because it was towards the end of the day, I decided to opt for a next day appointment. From the moment I noticed the address, I could feel the energy from the outside. As I entered the salon, I was greeted professionally, and asked if I could be assisted. Thank you so much. Carlton was great! He walked he through the whole way. Always made sure I was good to go. It has been a few months since I was able to get my hair done and had multiple colors. Gray, medium brown and a lot of dark brown. He colored everything except the dark brown (for obvious reasons) then he put a glaze on the rest and blew out the hair and topped it off with diamond oil and hot iron with tips on how to keep the color in your hair longer. This place is vaccinated and wear masks. If you take yours off to drink remember to put it back on otherwise one of the staff members might rudely jump on you to put it back on (the stylist opposing Carlton). Britton has cut and colored my hair twice now, and I do believe she is the best hairstylist I have ever tried -- from Seattle to Atlanta to London to Asheville. These are her incredible talents: 1) She begins by asking her client exactly what he/she wants and pulls up some photos on her phone to verify the client's wishes. Then she proceeds to achieve that client's dream. 2) Her cutting is beyond excellent. Britton is the best stylist in not only Asheville but out of everyone I've ever been too and I've been all over the world. I've never had somebody give me my hair goals before like she has. She is an expert in balayage and even though I bleach my hair every 7 to 8 weeks it is still healthy thanks to her. She corrected a mistake made by Ananda salon that traumatized me to be honest. We started the appointment with me explaining what I wanted, and the stylist said they wouldn't have time because I only signed up for a balayage and highlight and what I was describing would have been balayage and color and cut. I tried to be flexible because that wasn't the stylist's fault so I just asked what they had time to do. We settled on just doing the balayage, and a cut if the stylist had time. We start with the balayage and everything was fine. The only problematic thing here was that the stylist was pulling my hair so hard that my neck was nearly sideways--super uncomfortable but not enough to make me never return again. After the balayage, I guess the stylist felt okay on time, so they approached and asked if I wanted to do a semi permanent color, which could be similar to what originally wanted and needed the for. I said sure. We do the semi permanent color. The stylist was really rough--most of the appointment but especially--while washing my hair. I have a couple of ear piercings and usually stylists are fairly gently around them. This stylist was not at all. They kept hitting one specific one when they were washing my hair and towel drying. They also kept catching that one with the comb/hairbrush. For anyone who has piercings, you know how much that can hurt. My ear had a teeny bit of crusty blood from this after the appointment and it has been irritated for about four days now. Anyway--I go back to the chair after my hair was washed, and my hair was this gross coppery yellow--the type of color you go to the salon to fix...The stylist basically said that this wasn't the color they were going for and if I wanted it fixed I could come back in for a toner, but would have to pay again. The stylists proceeds to trim my hair with about 20 minutes left in the appointment--still had to dry my hair too. I didn't realize how awful it looked until I got back to my car and really got a chance to look through the color. There are clear streaks of this orangey yellow color at my roots. So not only is the color awful--but you can still see my roots plain as day and it's doesn't look intentional like in a balayage. Then, when I got home, I noticed how uneven the cut is. The left side of my hair is noticeably longer than the right side. I've seen positive reviews about this stylist before. I think this was an instance of trying to do too much with too little time. I wish the stylist had just stuck with our original plan of just doing the balayage since they didn't believe they had enough time to accomplish what I wanted when I walked in--instead of trying to do it all and it turning out horribly. Because I know nothing about hair so I have no way to estimate how long these services will take to determine if the stylist actually has time to do it. My biggest problems with this experience is the color and how rough the stylist was. I don't think I've ever hated my hair quite as much as I do right now. read more

After a poor late night decision in CVS led me to dye my own hair black I looked in the mirror and immediately booked the first available appointment to undo as much of the damage as possible. Technically proficient but disappointing customer service. After dropping hundreds of dollars for a major bleach/ dye/ cut I left feeling lousy - the stylist spent the better part of 4 hours ignoring me, prioritized cleaning brushes over getting dye off my face and the topper was hearing her complain to a coworker after closing about annoying customers expecting stylists to care about customer's life story. I know the service industry is hard but meet me half way here. I barely talked to you and even then I felt like I had to apologize for existing. I took my 12 year old daughter to eclipse salon for the first time this past Sunday. Carlton looked at the picture my daughter had for the short cut she was wanting. A huge change for my daughter who walked in with waist length hair. Carlton looked at the picture and confirmed that it was a great cut and that she'll look great with it. 40 minutes later, my daughter returned to me with tears in her eyes and with a cut that looked nothing like the picture. When I told the receptionist that obviously Carlton wasn't done with my daughter's hair, we were told that he had another client and wouldn't be able to cut her hair anymore. Carlton then came to the front to speak with us. Told us that he had already cut her hair 3 times since she had been in his chair and that he was done with her.
