Thank you so much. Carlton was great! He walked he through the whole way. Always made sure I was good to go. It has been a few months since I was able to get my hair done and had multiple colors. Gray, medium brown and a lot of dark brown. He colored everything except the dark brown (for obvious reasons) then he put a glaze on the rest and blew out the hair and topped it off with diamond oil and hot iron with tips on how to keep the color in your hair longer. This place is vaccinated and wear masks. If you take yours off to drink remember to put it back on otherwise one of the staff members might rudely jump on you to put it back on (the stylist opposing Carlton). Other than that, I enjoyed my time there. Thank you.

1. I have extremely long and thick hair, and have had horrible haircuts because the hairdressers try to rush it. but Shane took his time and did an amazing job. He was also super friendly and sociable. front desk customer service was fantastic. 2. I am only 21 and look pretty young, and past hairdressers haven't taken me seriously/ treated me like a child because of it. Shane treated me with lots of respect and listened to everything I wanted :) Overall a great experience, I would highly recommend Shane! i'm thinking of dying my hair black and if i do i'm def going to eclipse

Britton is the best stylist in not only Asheville but out of everyone I've ever been too and I've been all over the world. I've never had somebody give me my hair goals before like she has. She is an expert in balayage and even though I bleach my hair every 7 to 8 weeks it is still healthy thanks to her. She corrected a mistake made by Ananda salon that traumatized me to be honest. After going to two stylists there I was scared to let anyone else around the area touch my hair. Britton fixed my hair and got it to a place that was better than I could've ever imagined after just three sessions and I've never been to anybody else since. If I move I will literally drive all the way back here just to see her. Look no further for color correction and discover someone that you will stay with forever

We started the appointment with me explaining what I wanted, and the stylist said they wouldn't have time because I only signed up for a balayage and highlight and what I was describing would have been balayage and color and cut. I tried to be flexible because that wasn't the stylist's fault so I just asked what they had time to do. We settled on just doing the balayage, and a cut if the stylist had time. We start with the balayage and everything was fine. The only problematic thing here was that the stylist was pulling my hair so hard that my neck was nearly sideways--super uncomfortable but not enough to make me never return again. After the balayage, I guess the stylist felt okay on time, so they approached and asked if I wanted to do a semi permanent color, which could be similar to what originally wanted and needed the for. I said sure. We do the semi permanent color. The stylist was really rough--most of the appointment but especially--while washing my hair. I have a couple of ear piercings and usually stylists are fairly gently around them. This stylist was not at all. They kept hitting one specific one when they were washing my hair and towel drying. They also kept catching that one with the comb/hairbrush. For anyone who has piercings, you know how much that can hurt. My ear had a teeny bit of crusty blood from this after the appointment and it has been irritated for about four days now. Anyway--I go back to the chair after my hair was washed, and my hair was this gross coppery yellow--the type of color you go to the salon to fix...The stylist basically said that this wasn't the color they were going for and if I wanted it fixed I could come back in for a toner, but would have to pay again. The stylists proceeds to trim my hair with about 20 minutes left in the appointment--still had to dry my hair too. I didn't realize how awful it looked until I got back to my car and really got a chance to look through the color. There are clear streaks of this orangey yellow color at my roots. So not only is the color awful--but you can still see my roots plain as day and it's doesn't look intentional like in a balayage. Then, when I got home, I noticed how uneven the cut is. The left side of my hair is noticeably longer than the right side. I've seen positive reviews about this stylist before. I think this was an instance of trying to do too much with too little time. I wish the stylist had just stuck with our original plan of just doing the balayage since they didn't believe they had enough time to accomplish what I wanted when I walked in--instead of trying to do it all and it turning out horribly. Because I know nothing about hair so I have no way to estimate how long these services will take to determine if the stylist actually has time to do it. My biggest problems with this experience is the color and how rough the stylist was. I don't think I've ever hated my hair quite as much as I do right now.

Frankie SAVED my hair!!! After a poor late night decision in CVS led me to dye my own hair black I looked in the mirror and immediately booked the first available appointment to undo as much of the damage as possible. Frankie sat with me and discussed my options and was very clear what my expectations shluld be. We decided on a shine wash and after an hour of her scrubbing my hair it was almost back to my natural color! (She said this was almost a miracle though, so if you're in a similar situation keep your expectations realistic) and after this she cut my hair, looking at my photos and asking me questions so that I got EXACTLY what I wanted! I couldn't have asked for a more attentive hairdresser!

So grateful to have found Wesley after years of not getting the cut I want. He is a master of layers. 10/10 recommend.

I contacted Eclipse salon last year to help with my December 2017 wedding just outside of Asheville, in Swannanoa. Lindsey was always quick to respond and help me get everything scheduled. Wes was so great! I had a trial and it really felt like talking with a friend and like I got to know this person who was going to be part of my day and a big part of my look! He came to the wedding site and did hair for me, my mom, and my bridesmaid. We each had a different look and all three were WONDERFUL! Cannot recommend them enough. I love Eclipse Salon. From the minute you walk in and are greeted it is a fantastic experience. The staff is friendly and professional, offering you a beverage (they have a wonderful selection of tea) and a comfortable place to sit. The Salon is decorated in local art that changes monthly...always interesting. Eclipse sells Bumble & Bumble hair care line, I love their products! I have been seeing Casi at the salon for over a year...I love the way she cuts my hair! I'd recommend her to anyone, male or female. Ive been going to eclipse for three years. I like my cutter but I'm looking for another place. They recently installed the most horrific lighting you've ever seen. You really need sunglasses, but since you're getting a haircut that's not practical. It's astonishing they thought these harsh lights were an improvement. They also run out of hot water occasionally. read more

Wesley has a magic touch that transforms my dull gray hair into natural glossy blonde, shearing years off my appearance. That he's also funny and charming makes for a wonderful experience. My favorite thing about this place is that you can book online. No, really book online, not send them your information and they call you and tell you whats available, but literally see whats available and pick which appointment you want!! Its great!!! I love that!!!! I got a womans hair cut by Wesley. He did a wonderful job. Love the way he cut my hair, love the neck/scalp massage. Everyone in the salon was super nice and friendly from the moment I walked in. I will definietly be going back and would recommend this salon to anyone. I guess the only downfall is.... downtown parking. eh. read more

I drive from Columbia SC just to get my hair done here, then I turn around and come home. I see Sarah Jane and she is as good as they come. Love her, love their products, coming here is an experience. All of the stylists are outgoing and social, the receptionist is helpful and treats you like a guest in her home. I always leave here feeling amazing with a perfect blowout and exactly what I asked for. read more

Eclipse Salon came highly rated from multiple friends around Asheville. After visiting countless high end salons and ending up unhappy, I decided to listen to my friends and try Eclipse out. I was specifically told to see Casi. She rocked out a really great haircut and took a lot of time not only making sure the cut was the way I wanted it but also utilized her expertise and listened to me. Super happy to say the least. Feel so good with my new haircut and have been getting lots of compliments! Casi and the staff create a really warm and friendly vibe. Highly recommend! read more

Love, love, love Carlton! My hair was in terrible shape and Carlton transformed it in less than 30 minutes. After a disastrous color and cut previously I looked like a big hot mess. And we all know when your hair isn't right, nothing is right. I am no longer walking around with a wig on thanks to Carlton at eclipse hair salon. Just really really great. I recently moved to Asheville from Chicago. Always a little nerve-wracking to find a new hair stylist, but thanks to Yelp, I tried Eclipse. Booked online (so nice) and made appointment with Casi. Possibly the best haircut I've ever had. She listened to what I liked and didn't like about my style at the time. She did what I wanted but even better than I could have imagined. I'm just so pleased. The price was great for such a quality cut. The salon is really nice and the staff were all friendly and professional. Great location downtown. I'm so glad I found Casi and Eclipse. read more

I came in here with a balayage that was way over due for some upkeep. I'm so used to having my hair totally fried whenever I come out of a session of highlighting, however Carlton totally nailed it and left me super soft and healthy with a new balayage and cut. All the while being extremely personable and friendly :) It blends beautifully with my natural roots and looks exactly like what I wanted in the photo I showed to him. I will definitely be back whenever my roots get too grown out again. Many thanks to Carlton and the entire Eclipse salon! Carlton is amazing! I was getting tired of all the summer heat and just asked him to cut my hair short! He cut off at least 6 inches, and it looks amazing!!! Completely restyled and he's a great stylist to have to chat with while he's working magic on your hair! Definitely recommend! read more

Went to eclipse on a whim as my regular stylist was out of town for a month. I called and was able to get a same day apt with Wesley. I have lived in Asheville for almost two years and have been searching for the right stylist since I have been here. Although normally I never would do something drastic with a new-to-me stylist, I have been bored with my hair for so long I decided to go for it, get bangs and get my hair super layered. He did great! He is the most detail focused stylist I have ever met. He seems to really love his craft and has a lot of focus. He was amusing to talk to, but also didn't force a conversation. He didn't rush the cut, it took almost 2 hours. He also didn't try to sell me on the products (b&b), which I really appreciate. Also the styling after the cut was great. Not over the top, very natural feeling. This salon is definitely on the expensive side, but I'll be going back there next cut. read more

Jen Amann is an amazing talent! I received a VERY bad haircut from another salon. First thing she did was calm me down with her confident reassurance that she could fix it. She explained my hair type and what can and can not be done with it. She was upset for and with me about what was done to my poor head - thank you! :-) I can now walk with my head held high, knowing I have a cute and professional cut. No wonder Carlton has such great reviews. Every time I go to him, he gives me a perfect color and cut and exactly what I asked for. His personality is easy going so it is always a comfortable experience (even for someone I like me with social anxiety disorder). Yes, his scalp massage during the conditioning makes you melt. In my opinion, he is the best in Asheville and I've lived here 15 years and visited lots of the most successful salons in town. read more

Carlton did an amazing job of interpreting my confusing instructions of 'a short version of Albert Einstein.' He not only nailed it, but gave this old scalp a real treatment all while being completely captivating in conversation. Will definitely return. Plus, the local artwork was a real treat. read more

I've been going to Carlton for haircuts for about a year now. He's got a great eye for facial bone structure and what cuts & angles look right for your face. I know from years of experience that not everyone can cut short hair well, but I feel very happy with the results I've gotten from Carlton. Definitely recommended! Also -- terrific location, right in the heart of downtown and very close to a parking garage. read more

A terrific find! We moved to North Carolina from Houston and, knowing no one, relied on internet searching to find a salon. Our first visit to Eclipse did not disappoint. It surpassed the reviews we had read. The staff is friendly and considerate. Wesley was better than the hairdresser we had been going to for years in houston. He took his time assessing what we wanted and executed our wishes perfectly. He is Very accomplished with both color and cut. We will definitely go back. Prices are reasonable too. The only drawback was the difficulty parking. Just use the municipal lot, and don't bother looking for a meter. read more

I guess I'm a vain person. I love new makeup, I love buying clothes, I love indulging in shoes. But nothing makes me feel sassier than a fresh hairdo. Sara Jane at Eclipse salon always makes me feel like an amazing, sassy goddess. She is a careful listener, but she also has the amazing ability to understand my hair, and understand my needs and limitations ( I don't, and never will own a hairdryer or flatiron, and I just can't style my hair myself. EVER. I'm a "wash and go" girl, for sure. ). She always delivers with an easy, flawless hairstyle that works for me, my hair, and my life. I leave knowing I will look just as perfect a week from then, with my lack of attention and appliances, as I do fresh out of the salon. I trust her with my tresses, and that says a lot! So if you're lookin for a little more sass in your ensemble, you should go check her out! Because, let's be honest, no outfit is complete without a perfect hairdo. read more

I left a message and the receptionist called me back in a timely manner.She scheduled me with Casey. Casey had just returned from a hair symposium in NYC and she had learned amazing hair cutting techniques! Meet the Business Owner: Jen A.

Jen, stylist and owner of Eclipse Salon, began cutting hair in high school. With little experience and a drive for design, she was the go-to girl for a cut, style and even funky color, whether she knew what she was doing or not. As an adult, Jen studied cosmetology in Greensboro, NC. Over the years, she has attended countless Bumble & bumble training events in NYC, has participated in intensive Davines color training, and studied with Hair Police in Minneapolis. Jen has many unique specialties as a stylist. She is an expert in dread perms and dread extensions. A master of color, Jen truly understands the chemistry behind dye and the processes involved. An appointment with Jen goes beyond artistry - it's a conversation between friends, giving her the ability to understand who you are, and resulting in a unique style catered specifically to you. I can't find a website for them, but it looks like Google hosts a page for them. I went to this page, found my stylist, who does not accept messages OR new clients. I don't understand why I was linked with her on Yelp. I hate my long hair. This is incredibly frustrating. I can't contact ANY salons--it's like they are playing games with me, trying to make me insane.

At the time, I was living in Stecoah Valley (Graham County) and it would take me an hour and a half to get to the salon, but because I have a long history of subpar haircuts, I felt it would be worth the time and effort. I was the first appointment of her day on a Saturday morning, and I knew that I wanted to be punctual for her, because I understand how it can impact a stylist's entire days schedule when they have tardy clients. I foolishly expected the same courtesy and respect for time to be extended to me. When I was roughly 30 minutes away from the Salon I received a phone call from reception asking if they could push my appointment out by half an hour. I let them know that I had other plans that day that I might end up being late for if I could not leave the salon at the same time. Long story short, they kept my appointment as it was and Madison walked through the door at my original appointment time. My haircut was technically sound, but the bangs were way too short, which is commonly what usually happens to me. My husband called them "toddler length" because they were the length that we used to give our daughter's bangs so that we could go longer between trimming. During the haircut I asked for a price for highlights and was taken aback by what I was quoted and realized that even though I had short hair and only average density, Madison's prices were what I would expect for hair that is more labor intensive (longer, thicker, denser). For reference, if I were to book 3 hours with Madison under the current all inclusive pricing, it would cost me less than the price range that she quoted me. I have NEVER heard of such exorbitant prices before and I was coming from a California economy. Overall, I've had better haircuts and several more worse ones, but based on the experience that I had here I wasn't going to be going back. The salon seems to have a high end vibe, but they did not deliver a high end experience at all.

I'm THRILLED to have found Wesley at Eclipse salon. For years, I've been a VERY high-maintenance platinum blonde with a short, intricate haircut. About a year ago, I decided to transition back to a more natural look. Wesley was up front when explaining that this could be a timely (and potentially awkward) transition, so I put my trust in his opinion and work. Now, about a year later, I LOVE my hair, color AND cut, and Wesley facilitated the change in such a way that I never felt awkward or unattractive - even when my hair was growing out and going through major in-between stages. I got my dreadlocks put in here last week, and I couldn't be happier. The owner was the person who put them in, and not only was she very knowledgeable about dreadlock maintenance and care, she was pleasant and fun to be around! That's important, because putting in dreadlocks takes a long, long time (8-12 hours). The price (for the level of service I was getting) was very, very reasonable. All in all, it was a great experience, and I would recommend this salon to anyone and everyone! I have been a happy, satisfied client at Eclipse for 10 years. Jen, the owner, has consistently created some of the best hair I have had in my life. She simultaneously has listened to my requests while offering guidance based on my hair structure and texture. I recently went from dark brown hair to a vibrant red and it is perfect. Frankie listens to what I want, makes suggestions when I ask for it, and ultimately gives a great haircut every time. I've been going to her for several years and couldn't conceive of going to anyone else. She's personable, has a knowledge of both contemporary and traditional hairstyles, and very good at what she does.
