Got here when they first opened, this place is hella cute great for taking photos with your favorite homegirl's homegirl, If you know you know haha. The place is Big party friendly, Good happy hour, great guacamole, the house made Malibu wing sauce is fire, a lil sweet and spicy. I'm here for the good service too. I love that it's family and locally owned. Get the ceviche.

I like to come here for drinks and some appetizers, the music ranges from old hip hop- R&B, Spanish, it's just an overall vibe. The bartenders are all so fun, and make talk with you. I just wish the nachos came with actual cheese, queso or nacho cheese not just mozzarella. But the Chile verde had good flavor just wasn't spicy!

We found this place by chance, and being one of the few places still serving food after 9pm. We were greeted immediately and were seated. The place itself was very clean, the atmosphere was nice, and the music wasn't too loud like other places. You didn't need to yell to hear each other talk. The staff and management were very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was wonderful. We started with the Sampler for appetizer, and a drink for the wife (cant remember the name). For entree she had the Broiled beef ribs and I had the Latin style pork chop. Both were very delicious. The sampler comes with a lot. The wings are very spicy, the tacos asada was very tasty, flautas were the best, not a fan of the taquito. As for the Entree, my pork chop was full of flavor with a kick. That sauce is . I highly recommend the Rosemary potatoes and grilled vegetables for sides. ESPECIALLY the grilled vegetables . We had the Cheesecake Chimi for desert (too bad no Mouse Cake that night). Surprisingly delicious, my wife is not a fan of cheese cake. But this she really liked. She topped it off with the Chloe (She liked that drink very much). Overall a great dinner. Looking forward to trying their other dishes. Highly recommend eating here. If you're out late looking for dinner or just a drink with friends, you have to try this place.

On The Rocks Kitchen and Lounge is a super cute spot that's definitely a hotspot for birthday celebrations. The drinks are crafted with lots of love, featuring freshly squeezed citrus that elevates them to a whole new level. We came here for my best friend's birthday, and they accommodated our large party of 17 people without a hitch. The food was delicious. I ordered fries that were fried to absolute perfection, with just the right amount of crisp--I could easily eat three bowls of them! The menu at On The Rocks Kitchen and Lounge is a delightful blend of Mexican cuisine and bar food. I had the ribeye, which was cooked to perfection--each bite was juicy and flavorful. My friend ordered the Chile Relleno, and it was a sight to behold, truly out of this world. It's a definite must-try! I'll be sure to share l pictures because it's just that impressive.

I highly recommend this place if you wanna go have dinner with your friends or family it's a very good atmosphere great food and drinks. They also have DJs during the week and weekends the service. There is very good. My food did not take long to come out and my drinks would come out quickly. They also have happy hour from 4 PM to 7 PM every day.

First time in on Friday night with a friend, and I will say the hostess and servers were great and very friendly. Food came out very fast as did the drinks. We both decided to try their pastas for entree and the guacamole for an appetizer. I ordered the poblano cream sauce with shrimp, and my friend ordered the Cajun that comes with both shrimp and chicken. The guacamole and chips were delicious! Seasoned well and very fresh. I thought the poblano cream sauce could definitely use more seasoning, and maybe use less noodles and thicken up the sauce a bit. There were far too many noodles and not enough sauce or flavor unfortunately. The Cajun was definitely better than the poblano and had more flavor, but still I felt like something was missing. We loved the vibes and decor, but might only come back to try more of their drinks.

Food was great. Service was good. Ambiance is mixed. It's dark and that's not a big deal but the menu is on black paper and hard to read the music is too loud to have a conversation. I know it's a club after 8 but we went well before 8 and it was loud food was amazing drinks were even better. But it's hard to give it a great restaurant review when the ambiance is very clubby. Wouldn't say this is family friendly either definitely not that vibe but overall great food - good date night if not looking for too much convo Also taking pictures of their food for a review hard it was dark and flash was very bright

Service was okay. Food was good. You're getting a decent portion for what you're paying. Ambiance is very chill. Dark on the inside but music was a bit too loud. It's kind of hard to hear someone seated across from you.

With only two other parties seated, it was blissfully quiet. This is a rare treat when you actually want to hear your colleagues speak. The Main Event: Enchiladas con Mole. I opted for the $14 Lunch Special, and the value to flavor ratio was off the charts. The Enchiladas con Mole were a revelation. They were deep, complex, and packed with a spicy punch. The Sidekick: The beans were just okay, but with mole that soulful, I was not complaining. The Refresher: The Cucumber and Lime Agua Fresca was the MVP. It was crisp, refreshing, and the perfect cooling counterpoint to the heat. I genuinely wish I had ordered a second one. The Vibe and Service: The decorations are absolutely darling and make the experience. While our server was perfectly nice, they were a bit of a disappearing act despite the empty room. I am definitely curious to come back for dinner though. They have a great setup for live music that looks promising. Know Before You Go: The Receipt Trap: Heads up! They added an automatic 18% gratuity to our check. I am not sure if it was because we were a party of seven, but I did not notice until after I had already added a tip.

Nobody plans to spend an evening in Bakersfield. You pass through it on the way to somewhere else…read more-- Mammoth, the Sequoias, the long flat grind up the 99 to Sacramento -- and if you stop at all, it's for gas or a bathroom or because your BMW's brakes have decided, somewhere around the Grapevine, that they'd rather not. Thank you, Weatherford BMW of Berkeley, for the near-death experience and, inadvertently, for one of the best nights out I've had in years. Stranded and waiting on repairs, we checked into The Padre, the only hotel in Bakersfield that feels like someone with a subscription to Dwell had a hand in it, and set out walking through a downtown that time has treated with more kindness than reputation suggests. There's a Woolworth's luncheonette still hanging on. There are old brick facades and wide sidewalks and the particular quiet of a Central Valley evening when the heat finally breaks. And then, on 18th Street, there is Tiki-Ko, and suddenly you are no longer in Bakersfield at all. You are, instead, inside someone's magnificent obsession. Tiki-Ko is a proper tiki bar -- not a tiki-themed cocktail lounge, not a place that bought some bamboo at a craft store and called it atmosphere, but a genuine, committed, floor-to-ceiling shrine to mid-century Polynesian fantasy. The carvings are real. The lighting is correct -- which is to say, barely there. The mugs are serious. There are pufferfish lamps and carved totems and the whole glorious taxonomy of tiki ephemera, accented here and there with a skate-culture edge that keeps it from feeling like a museum. It's reverent without being precious. The drinks are the real thing. Mai Tais built with actual orgeat. Zombies that earn the name. The bartenders make them with the kind of care and enthusiasm that tells you this isn't a gig -- it's a calling. They want you to be here. They want to talk about rum. They want you to try the Painkiller. In a city that most Angelenos regard as a punch line, somebody built a world-class cocktail bar and filled it with joy, and the regulars clearly know it. You will not plan a trip to Bakersfield. But if you find yourself there -- by mechanical failure, by accident, by the peculiar mercy of a bad brake job -- walk downtown. Find the tiki bar. Order a second round. Stay longer than you intended. Bakersfield has been underestimated, and Tiki-Ko is the proof.

I only had a drink upstairs at the original bar and I ordered my default go to when I visit new tiki bars and am unfamiliar with their menus and that was the painkiller. The service or person behind the bar was chill and super friendly. I came in on the earlier side of a Friday evening, so although people were trickling in, the place wasn't packed. Since I was only able to stay for a drink, I just wanted to walk down and check out 'The Sinking Ship' and was thoroughly impressed by the decor (well pretty much for both spaces). Definitely a place I'd love to grab drinks with friends or spend more time at.
