I have been going this salon because the gal who does my hair is lovely and talented. However I was shocked to find they can not put tips on a credit cards. I spoke to the manager and she said they have an old purchasing system and will not be updating. How much does "Square" cost, its very inexpensive sends a receipt to your email and handles the tips. I was told , just go to the Harris Teeter, clearly they tell a lot of folks that, then you get the full 8x10 sheet of paper as receipt! Yikes! Way overpriced for services which were mediocre at best. 95 brown base color,160 balayage which didn't turn out very light at all, 30 keratin conditioner and 65 cut. My stylist was very personable and i quite enjoyed my time but the end result was not what i had expected and a bit spendy. read more

Christy does great work on my curly hair. I've visited several other local salons in the search for a new stylist and I like her cut the best (and it's the most reasonably priced!). I've been going to Eclips for about 4 months now to maintain my gel nails, and seeing Jay in their spa. After some bad experiences trying to find someone who knows how to work with gel nails, Jay has been awesome! Besides the fact that my nails always look fantastic, he's never late or overbooked, and he's really nice too. If there was a way to give more than five stars, I'd give the extra ones to Jay. Took my daughter here for a trim and blow dry and I'm not impressed! The cut looks okay but the blow out is awful. My daughter has long thick wavy hair, but it's good hair and blow dries straight with a little effort. Her hair was left frizzy, which unfortunately doesn't do the cut any justice. It takes me 30 minutes to do a decent job blow drying my daughter's hair... She rushed through it in under 10. The stylist also had ZERO personality; She didn't interact or engage with my daughter at all. You should be kid friendly if you are working with kids. I would expect a little more effort for what they charge. Good concept but definitely not worth the cost! Don't charge salon prices if you are not going to provide salon quality! read more

I have been going to Mallory at Eclips now for a few years. Every time I go, I am more impressed with her talent and love spending time chatting with her. I moved about an hour away from Ashburn recently and decided to try a new salon that was closer to my new house...that was a mistake. The new salon completely destroyed the color of my hair and after they tried many times to fix it, I was so stressed out with what should have been blonde highlights but turned into multi-color (grey, pink, orange...) highlights and immediately made an appointment with Mallory. She completely saved my hair and was so flexible with her schedule to make sure I left Eclips so much happier than I arrived. I can not recommend Mallory enough!! read more

Overpriced at $70 for a 5mins trim I could do without. Two stars only because the lady who did my hair was nice and helpful with trying to get highlights. I didn't mind the cost of highlight and toner which they ran by me before charging but root touch and 5mins trim should not cost $120+. I paid $322 of which $120 was surely an overpayment. I went to Eclips for years, then went to another salon for about 2 years. I have since come back to Eclips because the other salon they just didn't seem to be a knowledgeable or skilled with color. I've always gotten good hair color (highlights, lowlights, toner, etc.) from Eclips. And the people have been friendly. The only downside is that they are definitely pricey. In order to keep costs down I think I might go to them for color and get my hair cuts elsewhere because my hair is not difficult to cut and paying something like $69 for a haircut is just too much for me. read more

After recently moving here from out of state I was hesitant to try a new salon. My previous salon was also a "teaching/continuing education" salon so I thought I'd give this place a shot with an "experienced" stylist. I showed her a picture of a hair style I wanted and the lady completely butchered my hair. It wasn't even close to what I asked for. I used to go to Eclips for regular hair appointments -- so this is nothing against the salon as its actually a great salon.. BUT had an appointment to have my bangs trimmed with Brittney. Bad idea...I showed her a picture of what I wanted... my bangs were about down to my chin -- she cut them straight across, up to about mid-cheek. Im not even sure she looked at the picture I showed her --my bangs really just needed to be angled. Now they're too long too wear straight down but too short to tuck back. Plus, she didnt really taper them at all so when I pull them to the side..its just a bunch of thick bangs. She also cut way back into my hair..more than what are my bangs -- so I sorta have this side mullet. Again, highly recommend the salon, but Id steer clear of this particular stylist -- at least for bangs! read more

This place is okay but it is very annoying that they only take cash tips it's 2017 not 1990 it's easier on the patrons and the employees if you are able to add a tip to a card they literally only take cash or checks just very behind the times especially for a salon read more

It's a great place to get a real haircut. Free wifi while you wait, along with teas/coffee/bottled water. The stylist I've used (Paige) has always been helpful, professional, and friendly. She also is great at cutting hair the way you want it cut; no more "factory cuts" for me. They also feature a pretty varied selection of specialty shampoos and hair care products. Terrible. Was charged $22 for a 5 min, 4 yr old bang trim, no shampoo, no style, no blow dry. I feel ripped off and will never go back.

Had an emergency corrective color and Denise fixed it and gave me a great blow out! My hair looks great and I will be going back!

I've taken my kids there twice and I've been there twice. The experience has always just been OK. Its a bit overpriced for what you get. The blonde woman behind the desk is always very pleasant, but my hairdresser Debbie was a complete B****. She was condescending, rude, and had zero social stills. Bottom line is that there are better salons out there. read more

I had a prenatal massage done and it was absolute heaven. Everyone was so friendly and professional. I was even treated to lemonade after my massage. I didn't have a long wait after I checked in. Eclips is a fine salon, and I've had some very good services there, but the reason I go there is my superior stylist, Susan. I've been happy with Susan for 14 years now, had many styles and color mixes, and I've allways felt I looked good! Susan is very smart, and intuitive. If you are looking for a stylist you can trust, I can certainly recommend her. A good stylist is a worthwhile luxury. read more

I really appreciate her taking the time to talk to me, listen to my concerns, and truly understand the situation. She is addressing it with the stylist and hopefully she will learn to err on the side of conservative before picking up the scissors.
