His communication throughout the project was excellent, and I cannot speak highly enough of him. The end result was stunning, and his attention to detail was very apparent. We appreciated that it was no inconvenience to him to visit an additional store and pick out the perfect color Schluter trim when he couldn't find a good enough match in the first store. We will definitely be using Derek for all of our tiling installation needs in future, and we will highly recommend him to everyone we know.

Finished phase 1 the next day. Then when he said phase 2 was done, he missed a portion of the caulk and needed to come back a fourth day. Three of those days I changed my work schedule for his schedule. I had to finish the caulking job myself because he said his quote didn't include some basic areas of mold. Once I bought the clear caulk, I finished the job myself in about 30 minutes. Pretty basic for a professional but he didn't seem super interested in making sure I was satisfied.

Although their bids were similar, we weren't happy with the prep work we had to do or what they wanted to charge for it. We are in our late 70's. We visited Flooring Creations, talked to both Gus Sr. and Gus Jr. We got a bid that included everything we needed done and was financially reasonable. We were on a limited time schedule and they were great about working within that time frame. The installers they referred us to were on time, neat, and did a great job. When you find a family owned local company that makes you feel like your job is important, works with you, and does a good job you go back. I would totally recommend SD Flooring Creations.

He was super friendly and I could tell he knew what he was talking about. He has a lot of flooring experience and that was very easy to tell. It was easy to make my apt., and he even met me at the flooring store to pick out a color (which other contractors didn't do and was hard to schedule an apt with). He was prompt to the job and sent me pictures of the process. I stopped by every day and could see how quickly and hard they were working. I am beyond happy with my new floors! Sean always texted me back promptly... I was never left wondering if he'd reply or "ghost" the job. He is even responsive AFTER the job has been done! I HIGHLY recommend!

Stay far away from this guy. He's not even a 1 star. Not only is confrontational and completely…read moredelusional, but there's no reason why he should still have his GC license. His work is dangerous and sloppy. See just a few photos of some very bad electrical work he PERSONALLY did on my remodel project in Del Mar. He had an incredibly difficult time getting anyone to show up on the job to work, and when they did show up, they were extremely slow and unskilled. He constantly was asking me for up-front payments ahead of our agreed upon draw schedules. When I attempted to have a professional conversation with him, he resorted to yelling, screaming and walking off the job. I was able to get him off the job inside the first week of him working, luckily avoiding major issues on the resale of my property. After offering a fair departure payment to him (which he declined) he made a feeble attempt to collect from me after the fact. He's actually worse than what someone would think of when they hear about a bad contractor.
