Review for the catering arm of Eats & Sweets, Blue Farm Catering: We had a wonderful experience working with Blue Farm Catering! After weeks of searching for a wedding caterer that could cook up good food without breaking the bank, we stumbled upon BFC. Because they were the only caterer within our budget and food preferences, they were the only caterer we scheduled a tasting with. They invited us to the farm for the tasting and seated us in a converted barn. As my fiancé and I were waiting for the food, I told him, "This food better be good because we have no other options." And to our great relief, the food wasn't just good, it was absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful, homemade, and clearly made with great skill and care. It only took a few bites for us to know we had found our caterer. We also like that they're a family-owned small business, that much of their food comes from their farm, and that they make everything from scratch. To reduce the complexity of the day, our stress, and the costs, we had them do all of our food for us. For our late morning wedding, BFC catered appetizers for the cocktail hour, a lunch buffet, and desserts, including the wedding cake. Jordan was our contact throughout the process, and she was a joy to work with. She responded promptly and thoroughly to all our queries. No question or concern was too small. When it came time to set the menu for our 180 guests, she worked with us to accommodate an extensive list of dietary restrictions with grace and flexibility. We are both indecisive, and everything sounded so good, we had a hard time making selections. Jordan used her catering expertise to help us build a menu that would have something for everyone. When it was time to decide on the wedding cake, which we had given zero thought to, Jordan provided us pictures of designs and popular cake flavor combinations. On the day of the wedding, there was plenty of food, and we received many compliments from our guests. Several of them said it was the best wedding food they had ever tasted (and we agree!). Because the church holding our reception doesn't allow outside caterers to use their kitchen, BFC just cooked everything in their food truck. We were running a bit behind schedule, but BFC rolled with it. The serving staff was professional, kind. There was one small issue, but once we alerted Jordan, she took care of it to our satisfaction. Did I mention they're LGBTQ friendly? You never know these days, but BFC had zero issues catering a wedding with an interracial pair of grooms. We HIGHLY recommend Blue Farm Catering. Fantastic service, amazing value, and the most delicious food! We hope to never plan a wedding again, but we will definitely use Blue Farm Catering for our future catering needs. read more

Food is super yummy and portions are large! The ice cream is so good and a must get after your meal! Service is usually pretty quick, but when they get a bit busy it can become very slow. It's worth the wait though! It gives old school diner vibes and it's great for a laid back meal! read more

So it was a random date night with a pretty lady we decided to come here as it was just what was good in a sweet eat kinda way! They had a decent mix of options but for me it was all about the French Dip as that just sounded yummy on a cold night and let me say it totally was as the sandwich had some flavorful meat yummy cheese and this bread that was just perfect by itself but when it came time to dip it was like a sponge it soaked up that yummy au jus to add just that much more flavor to something that was already scrumptious. Their fries here were also very yummy you can taste that they are fresh and they came to us super hot which was just perfect for what was totally good. Our service was also super awesome shout out to the young women that served us they were very polite professional and attentive to anything we needed and definitely provided some of the best service I've had in quite a while and this is coming from someone who's spent a long time in the service industry. Overall yummy food awesome service and just a chill family friendly atmosphere who knows if I'll get back here again but if I lived in the area I'd totally be a regular here! read more

We waited over an hour after ordering for food that never arrived. After waiting an hour (and asking what the status of our food was with no answer) we noticed tables that arrived 30-45 minutes after us were receiving their food. Our waitress came by and said it would be 5 more minutes. We told her we couldn't wait any longer and left. First time in my life and I've gone to a restaurant and did not receive food. We ordered corn dogs, a burger, and boneless wings - nothing complicated. There was no adult working the restaurant, it was staffed entirely by teenagers. read more

i've come here many times and gotten pick up from here and i will say it never disappoints i ordered the cream n crab soup which was very good with a good balance of crab meat. I also ordered old bay wings which were excellent with the homemade ranch they have here. the service couldn't be better there was a young man working the counter and tables alone and throughout every table and every time he visited tables he was polite respectful and helpful. The inside is always a nice vibe with the classic restaurant feel there was music on the speakers and the temperature inside was very comfortable for these hot summer days. i highly suggest visiting here when in pylesville maryland 10/10 read more

Eats and sweets is a fantastic way to pause your adventuring for a quick snack. My adventuring party, consisting of myself and two children, usually hits this place up when we need a short rest for some ice cream and fries because, as I've mentioned on numerous occasions, my youngest prefers food of the beige variety. We usually get our ice cream and then sit and wait for the fries. There is a wonderful selection of ice cream that all sound and look amazing. People assure me they are really good, but I'll never know because I only ever eat mint chocolate chip with rainbow sprinkles. Seriously. Like since the 80s. I can attest that the chocolate chip mint or mint chocolate chip (the specific name escapes me) is awesome and generously portioned. The fries arrive around the time we're finishing up the ice cream which is perfect. I can usually enjoy one or two reaches into the fry basket before my oldest rolls initiative by trying to put vinegar over all of the fries instead of his half. My youngest then goes full rage, and I have to take possession of the fry basket until staff can bring me something to put the vinegar in. Also, extra napkins. Highly recommend. read more

Very friendly people. First time here and ordered the French Dip. The meat and bread used were really good, but what elevated it was the au jus sauce. I ordered to-go and it was ready in about 20 minutes. I watched a lot of people come in and out and it seems like it is a local favorite. I didn't order dessert but I will next time because the items I saw going out to the dining room while I ordered looked so good, like old-timey ice cream treats. The food at Eats and Sweets is amazing! The cutest little diner smack in the middle of farm country. I had the Reuben (5 stars), full of flavor and delicious. Slow cooked overnight for the most amazing melt in your mouth corned beef. My husband had the French Dip, which was top notch as well. All the meat is locally bought, another plus for supporting local farmers. Don't forget to grab some icecream on the way out (Hersheys). We will definitely be back! read more

This place is a great example of how great management can make a business shine. The cleanliness and attention to detail is so impressive. The menu is big and very accommodating. You can choose a sandwich selection or create pretty much any sandwich you want. Talk about having it your way. You can build a burger or a sandwich, and these have essentially all the condiments you need. I stopped in for lunch and got a grilled chicken on toasted wheat with lettuce, tomato, onion, hot peppers and mustard. The sandwich was as good as can be. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It was tender and flavorful. I also love how the onions were so thinly sliced. It makes a big difference. I also got the white chicken chili which was delightful. It has a touch of cream and a great combination of flavors. The servers were so enthusiastic and happy. And to make this place even better, there are a variety of delicious ice cream flavors for cones, bowls or shakes. I absolutely love this place! Awsome find after a hike at the Kilgore Falls! We were sitting next to the window and looking out the street. Such a country-like relaxing feeling. And it was a quiet late afternoon so the place was not packed but busy enough for staff to stay busy. The burgers are so tasty especially the Cowboy burger! That is a must when stopping by this place!!!!! I love how they fried the thin onion rings on top of that burger. The taste was crispy and sweet and full of flavors. Not sure if I was hungry that day so I could eat so much or simply the burger and the pizza were to good but I had 2 slices of pizza and a whole burger!!!! What's crazy is that even the fries were good! I was rolling out after that late lunch that day with a happy tummy. The flowers pot at the entrance was so cute! I have not eaten at this restaurant, but I was at a wedding recently where they catered. The chef made EVERYTHING (bread rolls, dressings, butters, sauces, etc) from scratch. So rarely do you remember the food from a wedding. But I will remember this. The chef seasoned the food perfectly. Al dente pasta and green beans is unheard of at a mass event such as a wedding, but not for this chef. Flawless pasta and the protein dishes were positive stellar. I wish I could eat at this restaurant every day for the rest of my life now. If you are looking for that superior quality where the food is prepared by someone who not only is a super-star chef, but also genuinely cares about you and your experience. I enjoy the food from this place. It's not fancy but the food and service are good. Whenever I'm in the area, I try to stop by for something to eat or a milkshake. I have been several times and love their turkey club sandwich, and their cheesesteak. Their boneless wings are pretty good as well. My wife got the French dip sub a few times and really likes it. Finally, they have really good homemade desserts (pies). I suggest this place is you want a small, out of the way diner like atmosphere that has great service and good food. read more

My friend and I stopped here after a day of hiking at Rocks State Park. It was perfect-- the girls in the front of the house were so nice and attentive. We asked if we could eat outside and they obliged. Both of us ordered boneless wings which are dredged and fried in house-- and the FRIES... ugh, they make their own, so definitely put them on your list if you swing by this little gem in Pylesville. I am going to be honest here like I usually am. I get more disappointed with this place as time goes by. I love most of the food but when we order chicken parmesan and one had about a 3" piece of chicken and a 2.5 by 2.5 piece of cheese the other serving had about a 5"piece of chicken and 2 pieces of cheese and the 3rd order was a huge piece the size of a whole filet breast with several pieces of cheese . No consistency in the servings by any means. The pasta was somewhat a closer portion. The meal came with garlic bread except the server forgot it and gave it to us as we were getting ready to leave, in a bag. A table behind us was their first time visit and they said they weren't coming back but they ate sandwiches because they weren't aware of the specials that we order and didn't know anything about it until they saw ours being served . You will have something wrong at every meal from the food not the way you order it,teenage server not bringing silverware or refreshing you glasses of beverage,or forgetting half or some part of your meal. The best thing is the food taste good. There has been 3 or 4 restaurants there in 6-7 years they need to step up their game or will just be another memory like the others before them. read more

Nearly every weekend we take out golden retriever hiking and swimming at nearby Eden Mill and afterwards we usually grab lunch in the area. We had no idea that this awesome little restaurant even existed until we purchased a coupon on DealHere.com and we have been coming every weekend since. Don't let the outside of the place fool you, this place serves up delicious, made from scratch food in a homey, diner atmosphere. So far we have tried the club sandwich, chicken salad, french dip, grilled cheese, chef salad, hot turkey sandwich, beef vegetable, cream of crab and tomato soup and highly recommend all of them (although hubby is partial to the french dip). The homemade chips that come with pretty much all of the lunch dishes are thinly sliced and crispy and quite frankly the best I have every had. The small chef salad was large enough for hubby and I to share and was loaded with the most delicious ham I have ever tasted (get the ranch, it rocks). The staff is very friendly and they have a couple of tables outside which works great for us since we pretty much always have our dog with us when in the area. Don't make the mistake thinking this is a generic, run of the mill place because that could be the farthest thing from the truth. Practically everything is homemade...their potato chips are out of this world, mozzarella bites with an amazing tomato/cream based sauce for dipping, and my new favorite.. hot turkey over mashed potatoes. When I have ordered it at other restaurants, the turkey is like bad lunch meat topped with yellow, artificial tasting gravy all topped upon white bread finished with a scoop of instant mashed potatoes. So, you can imagine my delight when my plate arrives with real turkey topped with the most amazing gravy, INCREDIBLE MASHED POTATOES, and 2 pieces of French bread toasted with a light seasoning. I'm in love. Crabby mac and cheese, burgers... especially the cowboy burger are off the charts delicious. And I can't forget to mention the salad dressings...yes, all made in house.
