Review for the catering arm of Eats & Sweets, Blue Farm Catering:…read more We had a wonderful experience working with Blue Farm Catering! After weeks of searching for a wedding caterer that could cook up good food without breaking the bank, we stumbled upon BFC. Because they were the only caterer within our budget and food preferences, they were the only caterer we scheduled a tasting with. They invited us to the farm for the tasting and seated us in a converted barn. As my fiancé and I were waiting for the food, I told him, "This food better be good because we have no other options." And to our great relief, the food wasn't just good, it was absolutely delicious! Fresh, flavorful, homemade, and clearly made with great skill and care. It only took a few bites for us to know we had found our caterer. We also like that they're a family-owned small business, that much of their food comes from their farm, and that they make everything from scratch. To reduce the complexity of the day, our stress, and the costs, we had them do all of our food for us. For our late morning wedding, BFC catered appetizers for the cocktail hour, a lunch buffet, and desserts, including the wedding cake. Jordan was our contact throughout the process, and she was a joy to work with. She responded promptly and thoroughly to all our queries. No question or concern was too small. When it came time to set the menu for our 180 guests, she worked with us to accommodate an extensive list of dietary restrictions with grace and flexibility. We are both indecisive, and everything sounded so good, we had a hard time making selections. Jordan used her catering expertise to help us build a menu that would have something for everyone. When it was time to decide on the wedding cake, which we had given zero thought to, Jordan provided us pictures of designs and popular cake flavor combinations. On the day of the wedding, there was plenty of food, and we received many compliments from our guests. Several of them said it was the best wedding food they had ever tasted (and we agree!). Because the church holding our reception doesn't allow outside caterers to use their kitchen, BFC just cooked everything in their food truck. We were running a bit behind schedule, but BFC rolled with it. The serving staff was professional, kind. There was one small issue, but once we alerted Jordan, she took care of it to our satisfaction. Did I mention they're LGBTQ friendly? You never know these days, but BFC had zero issues catering a wedding with an interracial pair of grooms. We HIGHLY recommend Blue Farm Catering. Fantastic service, amazing value, and the most delicious food! We hope to never plan a wedding again, but we will definitely use Blue Farm Catering for our future catering needs.

Then I found Turkey Hill Ice cream Experience only 30min away from Lancaster, and decided to visit. We bought the double scoop experience (comes with ice cream test lab) and obviously that was the highlight of the place! The test lab is about 45min experience and the whole thing with self-guided tour takes about 1hr 30min to 2 hours depending how crowded it is. The visit was fun and of course my 5-year-old daughter had a great time eating tons of ice cream!

Admission prices are reasonable, and who doesnt love unlimited samples of iced tea, and lemonade, icecream on a hot day. Vistors have a choice between one scoop, two scoop, or three scoop attraction. I choose one scoop; hilights of my visit- learning history of Turkey Hill, process of icecream being made, creating a virtual icecream flavor, watching the production , live from interactive camera in one of the exhibits. Be sure to take the few moments, to watch the introduction video. My favorite ice cream sample flavors were Graham Slam & Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake. An attraction must, well visiting Lancaster, PA. My recommendation would be too sell a few more flavors that you offer , with unlimited tastings. My favorite was orange icedtea.

I walked in and my eyes were wowed by the numerous choices and flavors on the menu. I really wanted an ice cream sandwich with real cookies but I decided on a waffle cone with banana pudding ice cream. The banana pudding had actual nilla wafers in it and man! I think it was ungodly how quickly i finished it. I can definitely understand why it's on the tour. They have a nice outside patio seating but we opted to eat in the car because of the heat. Will definitely be back!

I ordered a special ice cream shake concoction they were offering. The wait took WAAY too long. People who ordered their treats after me got their ice cream first. What also made the wait long was they put down the wrong name and they were calling some random person for my order! Finally when I (yes just me) figured it out, my treat was mush. Also - they didn't have all the ingredients for my treat! (If you don't have all the ingredients to make a special dessert, take it off your menu!) So they took liberties and add crap I didn't want. It tasted terrible. No apologies and no replacing my ice cream because they screwed up my name and it was now just ice cream soup with random bits of replaced toppings. I had two bites and then I spit it out. Not eating there again. Thank goodness there was a random taco truck at the same time. I was starving after riding my bike and the taco truck made up for the disastrous dessert I ordered. Good tacos, great service and killer, refreshing citrus pdrinks. That place gets 5 starts, not the creamery.

To begin, the service at this place is exceptional. Typically they have a set of ice cream flavors that they serve for a day. However today I asked if they had a flavor that they weren't serving for that day. I'm just visiting from another state and just thought it wasn't on the menu. (100% my bad) However even though they didn't offer it, they were able to get it for me from their back freezer. This process of preparing it for me took time since it wasn't pre-prepared. But this goes to show you that this place priorities customers over comfort. Additionally, their ice cream is exceptional. It is all homemade and the flavor and texture of the ice cream is perfect. Would come again. If you are visiting Gettysburg this place is 100% worth coming to

We passed another ice cream shop to try this one after a tour guide mentioned it was among the best in the country according to a recent news article. While my two-scoop cone definitely hit the spot on a warm August afternoon, my daughter pointed out that the article's author might not have sampled some of the fantastic dairy stores and ice cream shops we have back home in the Midwest. I'd have to agree--I've had better in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Still, this is a charming stop with tasty treats and a fun vibe--worth a visit if you're in the area!
