Today's specials 1/2/23

The name of this small town diner is "The Eaton Place" (get it?) and I'm definitely a fan. It's bright, bustling and loud and the food is comfy and delicious. Breakfast all day, plus steaks, fish, burgers and daily specials that usually jnclude things like meatloaf, porkchops, turkey. Two soups of the day plus a couple menu standards. The soups are usually a very good choice. And oh those pancakes. At least a half dozen fresh baked pie options every day too. The staff work like crazy, no one is idle at any time, and they are somehow all cheerful and smiling. Early risers will be in heaven since they open at 6 AM. The earliest I've ever been was 7:45 and by the time I finished eating I could see the crowd starting to build. It is always packed and super busy, and unless you want the counter be prepared to wait rather uncomfortably for a table. Personally I like the counter. The restaurant holds a lot of customers, so you should also be prepared for a possible extensive wait for your food. I've glimpsed the kitchen and they are also working at breakneck pace in there. It's just there are so many mouths to feed, and there's no similar non-chain "eating place" for 20 miles around. If you show up after noon, keeping in mind they close at 2 PM, they may have run out of any given pie, soup, or special. That's the tradeoff when everything is fresh made in the morning. Set your alarm and give them a try for great home cooking and bottomless coffee.

I stopped in here with my BFF on the way to Indy. We both got the sunrise special and I was super yummy. The coffee was drinkable, not bad, not amazing but good. The service was spot an and very helpful. The bathroom was clean. I also got a slice of rhubarb pie to go. Best rhubarb I have had in years. I would come back here just for the pie alone. I will be back, heck I would go out of my way to come here again. Great food and great service.

We love this little restaurant! Hubby and I usually get pork and dressing with a vegetable and coleslaw and it's always delicious. We usually order homemade pie to go. The breakfasts are wonderful. It's a small place that's a bit shabby but who cares? The only thing bad about it is that they close at 2:30 so go early.

Ohmygosh what a rare gem of a restaurant!! A perfect mom and pop diner that offers pie fresh baked every morning! My BFF and I stopped in for breakfast. He ordered a fresh baked slice of rhubarb pie for later. I ordered the sunrise special and it was amazing! An omelette covered with hash browns, sausage gravy and cheese! I ate every bite! The wait staff was extremely friendly, helpful and kind!! Every time I come through Eaton, I will make sure to stop for a delicious meal!!!

The Eaton Place Restaurant is the locals hideout in Eaton, OH and for good reason. Good food, outstanding service, and reasonable prices are what make a trip to Eaton Place Restaurant worth the drive. As usual, I am on the road for work. You can only eat breakfast at the hotel so many times before a change of scenery is necessary. This is my 6 week in a row at the hotel so a change of scenery is absolutely necessary! I picked Eaton Place Restaurant to have my morning breakfast at this morning. The restaurant is just north of downtown right off of U.S. 127. The building is unassuming with plenty of parking. I walked in and was greeted by the friendliest staff around! I plopped myself down at a booth, grabbed a menu, and looked it over. My server came by with silverware and a glass of water. I asked her what she thought of the Sunrise Special and she immediately said that was a customer favorite and probably the most popular dish they served. With that kind glowing recommendation, I just had to order it plus a nice, hot cup of coffee. The Sunrise Speical for the uninitiated is a cheese omelette covered with hash browns, sausage gravy, and topped with cheddar cheese. It also comes with toast of your choice. I chose sourdough. My breakfast was brought out quickly and was hot! It isn't often I have to blow on my food to cool it down before I take a bite! The Sunrise Special is a nice twist between an omelette and a breakfast bowl. The omelette was cooked very well. The hash browns were crispy. The gravy was good if a bit on the bland side. The addition of Frank's Red Hot sauce was a nice addition and livened things up a bit! The staff at Eaton Place Restaurant are exceptional! They are nice, friendly, and happy you are there. They made my day! Eaton Place Restaurant is a local hangout and this morning was no different. It was fun listening to the stories and happenings. lol So, if you ever find yourself in the Eaton, OH area and are looking for a good place to grab breakfast, Eaton Place Restaurant is a great choice.

The Eaton Place is a staple in Eaton. It's the breakfast and lunch hangout to many. Love the Sunrise Breakfast. Pies are very good, too.

They did say that the salad bar was unlimited. What little or was. Yet, they required you to get a second small plate rather than just give you one large plate to get your food. Places like this should be shut down. Save your money go to mcdonald's at least there. They have eggs in a salad. When my wife informed them that we would not be back to have dinner here ever again. None of the food stood out to me, or made me want to go back. There's no wow factor. French fries are crinkle cut and bland so make sure you add seasoning. Mushroom burger was just a flavorless mushroom burger. It was ok. But not worth the 40 minute drive.

My husband and i stopped in last week for breakfast. There were approx 4 tables seated and two new tables of two that came in behind us. Honestly the entire place felt dirty and sloppy. We sat for 15 minutes while the only waitress in the restaurant took care of all the tables including the two that came in after us because she apparently knew them. Both tables got their drinks and orders input to the cook before we were even approached. (We were never approached) We left. With one cook who did nothing to help the waitress and one waitress who honestly looked tired and sloppy and could not be bothered acknowledging us or get us water and coffee , we just didn't feel like the breakfast would measure up to our former visits. We went to Bob Evans instead.

We sat in a cozy booth and our server was prompt and courteous. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, served with provolone, arugula, bacon, and Southwest ranch dressing, with a side of well seasoned fries. It was quite good with a decent piece of chicken. My husband had the turkey club wrap, with the same contents, but chose onion rings as his side. They were fresh and tasty. A quick and satisfying lunch. Bonus: one parking spot designated for veterans. Thank you.
