    Food

Food is a 2 star for almost always being cold-especially their chicken nuggets. They often slop whatever you get together and should put at least a little more effort into it. I will say I do enjoy their strawberry milkshakes when they put enough strawberry flavor into it.. and I do enjoy their strawberry smoothie-but I think both are pricey for what they are. Service is a 1 star for not being consistent and sometimes being rude.. for example the screen says to grab a table tent and someone will bring it to you (on the inside touch order screen), but then they leave the food to sit at the counter getting cold while I'm at the table as indicated to do on the screen while nobody brings it to me and instead shouts out numbers-which you can't hear unless you stay at the counter. **Other times I've been here and they've brought the food to me. So I guess it depends if you get someone doing their job or someone wanting to just be lazy and not do their job. Play Place is 4 star because it's decent-but could definitely be bigger! There are no other indoor play places in Eaton that I know of so there's not many other options unless you go out of town. Rewards program is a 4 star because points do add up to get free items in a decent amount of time- and deals/coupons on the rewards app usually are decent as well. However, with food being mediocre to poor it's not too big of a reward. My daughter does like the Happy Meals and the Play place though-so that's why I continue to go! I like to see her happy and her friend likes to meet us there when it's cold outside for a place to play. They need to continue with the good Happy Meal toys though.. and not switch to biodegradable paper toys. I don't know what's going on-but the last few months have been repeat toys from prior months-and not the advertised toy! I brought it up to a girl at the window one day when I got my daughter a Happy Meal and asked her if she could get a different one since she already had that one... she actually had the audacity to tell me ina very rude/condescending tone they were not a store and she didn't even know if she was allowed to do that. I literally just got the toy and it was still in the packaging.. the only other toy was another toy from a prior month that my daughter also had. Ridiculous.. I asked to speak to her Manager regarding her tone- the manager didn't seem to really care how her worker talked to me. Meanwhile the worker is just laughing in the background. Unprofessional place.. not the cleanest.. food is mediocre.. but they have an indoor play place and Happy Meals-which is the only reason for a 2 star and not a 1 star.

I don't love McDonald's but it's consistent across the country. You know what you're getting before you enter any location, correct? This store needs to start fresh. They have a newer building and a lazy group of employees. It looked as though the place had not been cleaned all day. There were fries and sandwich ingredients on the floor. Yes, it was between 4 and 7 p.m. but that's no excuse for that kind of a mess. The front counter needed to be cleaned, as well, and even as the person was waiting on orders to be finished, he was not cleaning. The manager seemed to be doing work the employees should have been doing, saying nothing about the problems in the store, all around her. The alarms for the fryers or whatever else would continue for minutes, which is probably why my fries looked overcooked and soggy. They ran out of shredded lettuce, so they put what little they had on my Filet O' Fish and gave it to me. The back-up person had to ask for a tray since one wasn't provided as soon as the counter person took my order, although I'll give him a point for giving me a cup for my drink. (Oh, and when I went to refill my cup, there was a huge spill on the floor in front of the tea dispenser.) The food was not good, and the service was some of the worst I've seen. I guess the only reason to go there is if you want free WiFi, which is why the only other person not in the playground was sitting with her computer, I'm guessing. They should fire the managers first and re-train most of the crew. The building is too nice to bulldoze.

Standard McDonald's food. At standard fast food speed. Standard customer service. A nice sized play place. A private party room with TV. Bring your food to your table. Moderately clean.

I do not recommend this place, at all. The food was underwhelming. The server was overwhelmed,…read moreaudibly asking for help, and no one seemed to care. My food was either ordered wrong or came out wrong, which I didn't complain about. My husband and I swapped eggs, since they were on the wrong plates, and we didn't complain. My hashbrowns were barely cooked on one side and thrown upside down on the plate to hide the remaining raw potato product. My husband was eventually able to get the busy servers attention. She took my hashbrowns and put my rubber, over easy eggs and cold, slightly reheated, cooked 2 days ago bacon back on the table. After waiting for my re"cooked" hashbrowns, everything else was beyond cold and like rubber. I asked the server to take everything off but the pancakes, since that was the only thing I would be eating. I still ended up paying over $10 for shitty pancakes that were missing the only ingredient I asked for. I brought them home, doctored them up, and ate 1. They were dry as hell by then. After waiting another 10 minutes for a check, we paid out and left. We spent $40 and I ate one bite of bacon and a pancake (eventually). My husband ate 2 cold, over hard eggs and 2 pieces of bacon. $40 for what I could made at home...The service and experience definitely did not justify the price. To make things sit even worse, on the way out there were 5-6 older employees standing around trying to figure out some menial thing. Obviously the server was swamped and asking for help, but no one offered. If someone would have helped her, it probably would have improved the experience for a lot of customers.

Decided to give them another try today. Since there are no strawberry pancakes, I asked them to…read moremake it right by giving me the blueberry pancakes. I was told NO CAN DO. I'm done with this location!

Anyway I am not that thrilled with it. Yes, it's very big with much more inventory than the little old store. And it's very clean, at least for now. They have a Starbucks counter (no seating), sushi if that's your thing, and the Murray's Cheese which the better Kroger stores carry. (That's my thing.) I observed 4 mobility shopping carts for those who require them. I further observed notably higher prices on items I normally buy at the Beckett Ridge (West Chester) location- and that would be considered a more affluent area! I also saw a refrigerated smoked meat item that was past its expiration date; and the store has only been open six days. The greatest disappointment is this BIG "supermarket" has no deli counter for cold cuts sliced to order! All they have is "grab and go" packages of pre-sliced ham, bologna, etc. of their own store brand. No thanks. I want it sliced fresh, I want to choose the thickness of the cut, the weight I want, and sometimes (gasp!) I might want a taste before making the commitment to buy a pound! And the final insult is these pre-sliced store brand deli meats that have been sitting around who knows how long, handled by who knows, are quite pricey. I will stop here for the store brand soda which I like and maybe a few other targeted items, but I'd say Walmart's grocery across the street does not have anything to worry about from the coming of this new store.

For years, Eaton had the IGA on Aukerman Street. Suddenly, in late 1986/early 1987, they were…read morereplaced by Marsh. IGA (Independent Grocers Association?) has some fairly inexpensive canned goods, but Marsh is mostly the opposite, and it's rather local, coming from Yorktown, Indiana. Kroger is a bigger chain than Marsh, having stores in several states, and even running convenience stores in other states under different brands. They're not really cheap, either. This location is somewhat small but seems neat and clean and the employees are friendly. They still have a reasonable selection, they just have to stock more often than other stores, I'm sure. I found my Turkey Hill individual iced tea bottles right next to the bigger bottles in the dairy section, and they were priced the same as the bigger stores. Kroger may not be inexpensive, but if you hit the sales, clip the coupons, and get the Kroger rewards card, you'll be fine.
