Had lunch here, and luckily there wasn't a wait to be able to sit down and order. Our waitress---who was amazing throughout---gave us a bottle of water quickly after us sitting down. She also spoke great English, a nice plus for us tourists that don't speak great Norwegian. We got a trio of pizzas, including one of their specialties. While they weren't the best pizzas ever (referencing to the more classic, non-specialized piza), they did their job. They were alright, and the crust was really good. I really did enjoy eating each pizza because of the dough. The special pizza they feature on the menu the winner of best pizza in Norway in the past, is an interesting combination of flavors. After trying it, I'm curious what the competitors were. Its very rich and heavy, in taste and weight (both on the slice and in the stomach). Prices were reasonable, by Oslo standards. We ate here due to a schedule crunch and other places not being open yet, but enjoyed the experience. The wafting of rapid Italian in the kitchen gave a nice vibe, and lets you know that the staff making the food knows what it should be like for Italian cuisine. Note that my review is based on one pizza. Normally when I would work overtime, I would eat at Burger Joint or at Olivias. I decided to be adventurous today and tried the "3rd best pizza in Norway," the Pizza Perffetta Estate at Eataly. This pizza consist of parma ham, mascarpone cheese, truffel salsa, thin slices of squash and lime juice. I was a bit reluctant to order this pizza at first due to the lime, but I am always game to try out something new. It took about 30 min before I got my pizza. I was told the cook had burned my pizza and had to make a new pizza. Fair enough, mistakes do happen and this did not really effect my review. Finally I got my pizza. First glance it did not seem very impressive. I bit into the pizza and did not like it at all. Sure the crust was nice and crisp, but the lime absolutely ruined the pizza. The sourness ovehelmed the flavors of the other ingredients masking the cheese and truffel salsa. I also notice a bit of an odd smell from the parma ham that was not very appealing either. The squash was a bit pointless to have on the pizza and again it was due to the overwhelming lime flavor. I am not sure how this pizza was proclaimed as Norway's 3rd best pizza, but in my book it is the worst I have ever tried. For those who are in Aker Brygge, go to Olivias. The pizzas are far better there and the service is far superior. read more

I have nothing bad to say about this place after todays dinner. Me and my girlfriend ordered focaccia with dip as an appetizer, pizza and a parmesan sauce for the main course and an assortment of ice cream for dessert. Everything was fantastic! Would definetly recommend. read more

This place is pretty popular, and if you want to have a table without booking, you should go here on a weekday. I'd say that the food here is OK, not the "best in Oslo" as they claim. The pizzas is not worth the price tag in my opinion. The waiters are really nice though. They make sure you have everything you need. I don't know how they'd perform in a hectic environment, such as Fridays and Saturdays. If you want a good Italian restaurant nearby, I would rather recommend Olivia. read more

Celebrated my birthday at Eataly some weekends ago, and we were all intrigued by the fact that two of their pizzas have won the tittles Oslo's #1 and #3 best pizzas in 2014. We had a reservation at 8PM for 8, and arrived early just to make sure we got there on time. We know how crazy akerbrygge can get on a Friday night! There was a long line to get in, and no one manning the entrance so we hung around for nearly 15 minutes before cutting before the line to find a waitress and let them know that we had arrived. Luckily we were then seated right away and they took or drink order. I felt bad for the people in the line, but they didn't have a reservation and I was not about to miss ours just because no one was seating people. My party of 8 mostly decided on pizza but the few who got the pasta were pleased with the food. We had mixed feelings about the pizza. Our main point being that Oslo's best pizza was not worth the almost 300NOK. But over all everything tasted good. In general I feel like Eataly is a place that gets a lot of costumers during summer, especially when you can sit outside on the gorgeous patio. Although it was a hot night we were seated inside because they would not let my friend make the reservation for outside. This was a little bit upsetting, not because we were inside, it is cozy and the interior is nice, what was upsetting was that our table felt neglected. Twice we had to actually get up from our table and seek out a waiter because we ran out of water, drinks and waited on the bill for nearly 15 minutes. I do understand that they were full OUTSIDE, but that does not mean that inside costumers should be totally left out. If they have trouble handling the amount of people on a Friday night they might want to consider hiring more waiters, because they waiting is what ruined the experience on my part. 3 stars, not because it was bad, but because there is so many other places I rather go instead. read more

Having been waiting at the nearby Beach Club for any kind of attention from the staff for over 30 mins we went to this place. Keep in mind that it is not the hight of the tourist season, nor is the weather such filling the Aker Brygge restaurants with beer thirsty norwegians. We did experience luck when entering this place with immediate attention. We were even escorted to one of the best tables and handed the menu. It was a tasteful looking selection of conventional italian antipasti, salads, pastas, pizzas etc. Our choice were the pasta Bolognese and a couple of pizzas. But at that point everything went down hill... The female staff passed us several times during our half hour wait, us nodding and raising our hand, they smiling and saying "hi" while passing us with other tables food, drinks or even dishes. To finally get the staffs attention that we wanted to order drinks and food, we actually had to ring up their head waiter through the restaurants main telephone number. Even at that point it took another 5 minutes before service finally arrived. We did experience a more attentive staff from that point on, but the food did not match the expectations from the ambience and menu. To sum up, the pasta was very good, the pizza bland and soft, anything like a real italian pizza. Kind of sad since the place looks kind of nice... but its just another tourist trap. Definitely no repeat visit from me. read more

We were curios as to what "the best pizza in Oslo" would taste like. And so, the journey begins... Well, I must say, the pizza is definite high class looking, with truffles, grana padano and the works. It's definitely very different than the traditional pizza. It is very good, but call me old fashioned. I prefer the tomato based sauce with mozzarella. We ordered a pasta dish as well, and that is equally as good. Service was exceptional. This restaurant is located nicely on a Promenade and has a great garden, terrace that invites you to sit outside and just look at the people passing by. What about the menu?Apparently this place won best pizza competitions! I ordered some foccacia with dips to start with and spicy salami pizza as main. Pizza was very good, crispy and thin, however there was a lot of oil..which was not so great. All in all a good place to sit in the summer. read more

What a wonderful restaurant! It's by no means a quaint little place, but for being in one of the most touristy areas of Oslo I was pleasantly surprised! The service was outstanding, and out waiter was super attentive:) we had the beef sausage with potato salad, prosciutto pizza and the picante pizza. Cozy place of beautiful location by the water and yet not too cold during wind. The champion pizza is considerably expensive so we had a 3rd prize and a Eataly. This place was so delicious! Everything was fantastic and the wine was well paired. My sister and I found this place our first day in Oslo and loved it!! I went there for lunch with my cousin at a time which wasn't too busy. Despite this, as they were understaffed, we actually had to wait for a while before we could order. However, the waitress was extremely nice and polite and explained the situation, couldn't blame her of course as this is purely a management issue. We didn't try their ' voted best or 3rd best pizza in Norway or in the world or whatever ' so can't comment on this. We each ordered pasta dishes. The garganelli pollo e pesto chosen by my cousin was apparently very good but my pasta primavera was very disappointing, not bad, but the farfalle were well overcooked. More than appreciable location, open terrace next to the water at Aker Brygge, your experience of the food will vary according to you choice of your dish. Don't go for the Salsiccia Eataly, nothing special about two salty and greasy sausages and few potatoes. Instead go for the tagliatelle with beef and button mushroom. It's nothing like Eataly in New York City, and that's a good thing if you like the best pizza in Norway (it's true) or Italian food served with a smile, sitting on a patio on a canal and surrounded by plants and vegetables growing in pots. It's a place for everyone, kids and grown-ups alike and no one leaves hungry. Great pizza, good pasta and very good cappuccinos. Wines and beers to choose from, all quite reasonably priced. We've been here 3 times now and never have the service and food been anything but excellent. The waiters are very friendly and cater everything to your liking. The food arrives very quickly and the genuine Italian dishes are incredibly tasty and in perfectly sized portions. When it comes to the price you definitely get what you pay for. Standard Oslo prices that are neither very cheap nor too expensive. Definitely a lot of bang for your buck here. The restaurant itself is very cozy with dimmed lighting, appealing furniture and an Italian radio station playing at a comfortably low volume that adds to the genuine Italian feel. Definitely give this place a try if you're looking for a genuine Italian experience with extremely delicious food in a cozy and relaxed locale. read more
