I had the mixed grill and loved it. The food was tasty and arrived quickly. The staff were friendly and efficient. We left completely stuffed! We went on a Saturday night and it was mobbed, but they still managed to squeeze us in. Two things worth mentioning. There is no alcohol and you pay at the till at the end rather than them bringing you the bill. Neither are a big deal and when the food is so good you don't nind about either of these things!

Pillows and throws on love seats that line the walls. Patterned rugs on the floors. Very quaint and adorable. There are a few menu items that you can order by themselves (like a normal restaurant), but the main event at this place are the Mediterranean "Tapas". They call them "mezah". The menu is only in Norwegian, but from what I understood, you can choose any combination of Mezah, each costing 40 nok, or have the chef choose 6 for you, and they will cost 160 nok for vegetarian or 180 nok for meat and vegetarian (so you save quite a bit). This combo comes with pita and feeds one (hungry) person. My boyfriend and I decided to each order one, so we got quite the variation of Mezah's to try. Some were very good, others not so much. The Bulgur, Tsatsiki, Kyllingvinger (chicken wings) and Kjøtboller (meatballs) were our favorites. We did not like the Baba Ganosh or the Squash, but maybe that's just our aversion to "weird vegetables" as we like to call them haha. Everything else was good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes to try new things, is hungry, and is in the mood for Mediterranean/ Turkish/ middle eastern food. Cafe Serenas is perfect If you want something not too expensive (for norwegian standards) and also has good service and good food. In the summer you can even sit outside which is a big plus. I haven't tasted their pizza yet, but I think their quite proud of their grill, and I would deffently recommend it.
