After my boyfriend's FIFTH (yes you read that right) blue cheeseburger, I think it's safe to say that these guys know what they're doing. Eat on Monday came to our Company Party and took care of everything - plates, trash, etc. Every burger was delicious (shut up, I tried them all), but I think my favorite was the UFC. The chicken was so perfectly cooked. Yum. Everyone was enjoying these and at mini size, able to enjoy more than one! These guys were quick to respond to any emails I had, they were inexpensive, and brought more than enough food. I will definitely be finding them around town again. The chicken sandwich here really is good - for a food truck. I'm normally not a fan of food trucks since it's not only expensive, but the portions are smaller. This truck came by my workplace so I got it for free. I got two sandwiches and was rather happy. It was definitely good, though I don't know if I'd be comfortable paying for it - or standing in a long line just to get it in the first place. read more

I told a co-worker from North Carolina that I've never had an authentic NC pulled-pork sandwich. We found Eat on Monday with simple search and .... Wow! ... so glad we hunted down the truck. The combination of taste and texture was absolutely amazing. My co-worker told me that discriminating aficionados from the East of NC prefer a vinegar sauce and the mustard base in the North. This sandwich had a fusion of both and her eyes lit up after the first bite. It wasn't a "traditional" NC pulled-pork she said, but we both agreed it was excellent. Grab extra napkins - it's juicy. Good service, hefty portions. My only nitpick is it would be great if they set up some folding chairs for customers to sit and eat by the truck. read more

I stopped by this truck a few more times when they were at PG Sunnyvale, and also today, when they were parked a few blocks from my workplace. By now, I've tried most of their menu items, and every single one has been nothing but extremely satisfying and memorable. I think what really keeps me coming back is that their sandwiches and tacos aren't your typical, cliche food truck burgers or fish tacos--Eat on Monday's menu is much more creative and delicious. Their Tonkatsu and UFC (ultimate fried chicken, I think) sandwiches are done so well with proper, non-greasy frying that preserves the moisture in the meats, and with great compliments (wasabi mayo, mustard Tonkatsu sauce for the Tonkatsu sandwich; maple bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, etc. for the UFC). So good. Their tacos have a bit of Asian fusion influence, but not enough to overpower some of the integral Mexican flavors. These guys are tossing pork belly with pickled jalapenos, charred green onions and fried calamari with crema and cabbage slaw. Where else can you find tacos with those toppings? And believe me, they don't just sound good--they taste really, really good too. There's a good ratio of meats and other fixings, so nothing really overpowers anything else, and the tortillas don't get too soggy or messy either (always a plus for tacos!). One more thing--they have reasonable prices! I've been to a lot of food trucks where the quality and/or quanitity don't justify the prices, but Eat on Monday isn't one of them. You could get a pretty substantial meal for $10 here, as opposed to some other food trucks, where prices average $15-16 per meal, and the quality is half that of Eat on Monday's. If you see this truck parked near your office, then you're in for a real treat. read more

Tried them for the first time on Tuesday afternoon and got their UFC sandwich: crispy fried chicken with maple bacon, tomatoes, lettuce, and sauce . It was $8 but it really was worth it. It wasn't as long as a Vietnamese banh mi sandwich but the size of the chicken piece more than compensated for the smaller length of this sandwich. This is a super crunchy fan's dream of a crispy chicken sandwich with the bacon and lettuce in there. The chicken meat is thick and tasty. The maple bacon is the thick style so hopefully you have some sharp teeth to get through the entire mass of it. One other thing I liked was how understated their truck is. Lately, every food truck I have gone to has the full-on all over paint job with flashy graphical designs and what-not. This one keeps it simple and seems like they are emphasizing the food more than the flash. They definitely have earned a return visit from me. Eat On Monday was at my friends' wedding this past weekend as an end of the night snack. They offered their mini cheeseburgers and mini chipotle cheeseburgers with either regular fries or chipotle fries. This little combo was the perfect late night post reception snack! The buns were fluffy, the lettuce and tomatoes were juicy and fresh. They didn't overkill the burger with too many red onions and added a balanced amount of condiments to it. The patty itself was flavored just right...Not overly seasoned with salt or other additives. I'm a big fan of In-n-Out, so I always hope most burgers can compare. Mind you, I am pretty finicky about how well the burger is cooked. I like mine well done. Since I never had a burger from this food truck before, I automatically thought it would be well done. When I took a bite into it, I realized it wasn't cooked to my liking. They were so nice about it and even made me a brand new burger that was well done. I loved it! The staff working the window, and cooks were all very friendly and professional. Now I need to find them around the Bay when I want a burger on the run! read more

Aka the Eat on Monday truck. Just a note, I've been eating at food trucks for over 20 years now and have generally had good experiences. I'm glad to see they're enjoying more popularity these days. Tried out the truck in PA today. Depending on the item, my experience ranged from not exciting to extremely exciting. Service was friendly. Moxsie.com HQ was a great location, by the way. I was worried about parking during lunch hour on a Friday in downtown PA, but no need. Free 2-hour (not that I needed it) parking close by. I know the truck is new and things are just getting started, but I have some feedback. They probably set prices based on their research, but I didn't like the way they did this. Prices on the sides were reasonable. However, I did not appreciate being forced to buy two sandwiches for $8. The sandwiches are made on steamed bao dough. I confess I'm more of a baked bao person myself, and I don't eat duck anymore. Quelle sacrilege! So, the choices for sandwich filling were something like duck a l'orange, simple belly, spicy pepper pork and/or tofu, and Mongolian beef. I ordered the spicy pork and the beef. Afterwards, I heard the owner tell another customer that he likes/recommends the duck. Great. That and the belly, which I just wasn't up for. I started with the potstickers. You get a decent amount for the price, but I just couldn't get into them. They were not flavorful or juicy. If they were homemade, I honestly couldn't tell. I ate them with lots of sauce. The sandwiches were good but not great. Much tastier hot, but since I had to order two, I wasn't able to finish both before they cooled. None of the menu items are good cold, and I wanted to try more than just sandwiches. Although the pork was flavorful, it wasn't even remotely spicy. I detected no heat whatsoever and was disappointed. Can't you offer to make it milder for those who can't handle it? Or warn people it might be hot? Or give it a more accurate name so people like me aren't left wondering what happened to the flavor? Even though it was too much food, I had to try the fried milk dessert. I'm so glad I did. I think it was one of the best things I've ever eaten! I loved it and immediately wished I'd ordered like 5 of these instead of the other stuff. It would have been cheaper, and I would have been much happier. I will try the truck maybe once again, but I felt the meal items were too pricey for what I got. Really yummy tacos for 3 bucks. A little small but so good! I had the braised beef taco and the shrimp taco, both of which were super yummy! I had a food truck first this past Tuesday at Edgewood Eats. I stopped by Eat on Monday and I ordered one of their mini UFC sandwiches--you know the buttermilk fried chicken, maple syrup glazed bacon thing. I devoured it and walked around for my next food victim. After a good round (and large ice cream cone later), I returned for another. Yes, I came back and ordered the exact same thing--I didn't even bother to try something else. That's a first for me. Try one and you'll know why. It definitely passes the "I'd go back if they were outside and I felt like a burger test -- in fact, it already has, because this is the second time I've been back. The first visit was the UFC, which was both unique and pretty good; the second time, just for the straight cheeseburger. This all being said, I'm not convinced that Eat On Monday is 4.5 star good. The real test for a food truck: if I generally didn't feel like that kind of cuisine, would I change my mind because it was out in our lot? There are a bunch of trucks for which this would be true. Delicious food! I had the steamed buns with the duck and the pork belly. The meat was cooked tender and juicy....super delicious! I love the touch of the super thinly sliced pear that's added to the duck steamed bun. The price was $8 for two buns, which is definitely on the expensive side for the amount of food you get. I love Eat on Monday! Definitely a truck that I've overlooked this past year. After seeing one pic of the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich on Yelp, I was sold! Their menu seems to change often which I appreciate. Many other trucks fail by keeping the same exact items week after week. I got the UFC and it was god damn delicious. Every single ingredient was so fresh. The fried chicken was so crunchy and pair that with a maple glazed bacon...omg, I'm was in heaven. Presentation was nice too - wrapped in brown parchment paper with a rubber band. It's the small things, but it puts the final "street food" touch on it. I was able to find the truck today during lunch parked in Sunnyvale near Lockheed Martin/Yahoo. I was surprised that there was no line at 12:15pm! A few Monday truck patrons were seated along a planter in front of the truck. We saw a couple of people go for the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich ($8) and the Italian beef sandwich ($8), but we decided not to try them after seeing the portion size...about the size of a Big Mac. My bf and I shared the following: 3 tacos (braised beef short rib, kurobuta pork belly, and shrimp), plus a side of fries. They were priced at $3 per taco, or $8 for three tacos. The fries were $2, and they gave a generous portion. They were all soft tacos, each wrapped in two thin taco shells (the kind authentic Mexican tacos are wrapped in). All were slightly spicy and served with a lime wedge. They were all good, but my favorite was the pork belly...so moist, tender, and flavorful...yum! All in all, a little pricey...but so unique and flavorful that it's worth trying if the truck is in your neighborhood! read more

Was at SJ Made/SJ Eats when I met her. The slider size gourmet burgers were delicious. Tried the chipotle and blue cheeseburgers, delicious... Spicy chicken taco was whatever... I'd skip it. Prices are very affordable. Burgers are five bucks and tacos are three bucks. Service was quick, only waited 5-10 minutes for two burgers and a taco. Finally tried a full sized burger, in this case, the C H I P O T L E burger. It was a little slow on the day I went, which is good... no crazy long ass wait. The burger has : 7 oz local, grass fed pacific pasteurs beef. chdder cheese, carmalized onions, spicy chipotle sauce, tomatos, lettuce iceberg, mustard seed, mayo all on a acme sweet bun. boy oh boy.. this is one juicy burger.. the burger was served inside a box and the burger was literally floating atop this chiptotle/burger juice jacuzzui.. i accidentally tipped the box and the juice dripped all over my hands. nice messy goodness.. now the burger itself is tastetasticly yum.i devoured it like a man should; w/o any breaks. it has the right amount of lettuce tomatoe, and the beef was well seasoned. me being a ketchup fiend, i added so much ketchup to each bite....its an explosion in my mouf! however, the chipotle sauce was very mild...not spicy at all. The chicken cutlet is fried to perfection, coupled with maple glazed bacon, lettuce, tomato and a special mayo based sauce on a soft, fresh from the bakery roll. It's good. Really good. But not 10-dollars-good. I have to go back and eat the other stuff they have. The tacos sound interesting and they have a stalker on facebook that raves about....well...pretty much their whole menu. I had a $10 grass fed beef burger with sauteed craminis, creme freche, and a parmesean crisp. The soft, juicy burger, mixed with the firm texture and mild flavor of the mushrooms, with the better-than-mayo creme freche, and the deliciously bitter and salty parm chip all matched up perfectly. It was really good, but I can make it at home. I'd feel more comfortable with the price if the fries came with it. I hate making fries. read more

I 'm updating my review to say this is the best food truck in the South Bay. Every thing I've had from here has been top-notch and the people who run it are really nice too. The only negative I could think of (and it's not really a negative) is that some of their offerings, like the burger and the UFC, while really good like everything else on their menu, are a bit heavy for lunch. As in you'll-fall-asleep-at-your-desk heavy. Needless to say, they've addressed that by offering mini burgers, as well as showing up at Moveable Feast's dinner events, at which these items would be more appropriate. So, there's no reason why you shouldn't chase down this truck tomorrow. read more

First the positives - big sandwiches, relatively inexpensive, not a long line. Negatives - had the UFC sandwich, not a huge fan of that super floury Acme soft roll (vs more crunchier buns which have more air pockets); the fried chicken was ok but not in a $9 awesome kind of way. Not really much flavor on the batter and just that super stringy, slightly dry white chicken breast meat inside (vs. a juicier inside). It was good, just not good enough to try again. We had Robert and Carol cater dinner at my daughters' b-day party. It was a huge success. Food was hot and cooked just right. The hamburgers, UFC, pulled pork, and Tonkatsu curry rice were all winners. At the end of the day, our guests were all left smiling. They have other amenities that mattered to me: 1) a super clean food truck, 2) trash/recycling cans, and 3) an audio system to play tunes. Their product is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I have been skeptical about how good fried chicken sandwiches could be after I went to Bakesale Betty and was disappointed. I was told that Bakesale Betty's fried chicken sandwiches were the best in the Bay Area. I thought there would be no place in the Bay Area for good fried chicken sandwiches. But when I went to Willow Glen for the Moveable Feast, I was converted. The UFC Club is undeniably the king of all fried chicken sandwiches. The chicken is crispy, juicy and super favorable. It may not have coleslaw but it has MAPLE GLAZED BACON. Plus it was on a french bread and had some good special sauce. It's pretty big and is enough to fill most people up, so it's price at 9.50 is reasonable. Service is great, it took less than 5 minutes for me to get my UFC and the cashier was very friendly despite being tired from service all day. I would have had tried more but it was already close to closing time and they had run out of most of the food that I wanted to try. I hope to be back soon to try their burger and fries though. read more

The maple-drizzled bacon was sweet and salty, the bleu cheese was wry, and the burger cooked to a juicy turn. I'll keep my eyes out for this truck again! I am not looking for a refund, and will visit again in a few week and post an update on my experience. Figure out a way to get the fries in good supply, and it should help speed up the line...Cheers. 1/16/12 40 minute wait for 3 uncooked burgers and greasy uncooked fries... for $40.!!! Ended up throwing it in the trash. Obviously a popular place, hence the delays, but the truck is not able to handle a lot of orders in a short period of time.
