A friend of mine recently contacted me saying she was looking for food trucks for her daughter's upcoming event. I laughed, because she said she checked out Eat on Monday on Yelp and saw that I had written multiple reviews and that most of their pictures were from me. Ha ha! Well, they ARE my #favoritefoodtruck. So here's something new. On my last visit, I saw that Eat on Monday had two new condiments available. Did you know Eat on Monday makes its own BBQ and Ranch? Well now you do. You're welcome.

Catered. Caprese sandwich.
Megan S.

Ordered this in for catering today.... We got: UFC Club - Buttermilk fried naturally raised chicken breast, maple syrup glazed applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, house spread and an acme torpedo roll Carnitas Sandwich - Tomato, red onions, avocado, chipotle mayo Caprese Sandwich - Fresh mozzarella cheese, balsamic vinaigrette, tomatoes, basil and organic mixed greens Mixed Green Salad - Mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, red onions and a house balsamic vinaigrette The thing I really appreciated about the catering was their detail to dietary restrictions. ie... The UFC Club, bacon was on the side. Having variety of chicken, carnitas and veggie. The caprese which I had, had the balsamic vinegar on the side. Very awesome. A lot of times we cater sandwiches in from Togo's or elsewhere and they are really soggy gross by the time we get them. I super appreciated the dressing was on the side and therefore getting to eat not mushy bread =P

3.5 oz baby blue cheeseburger! GET IT! 5 stars!!!

BABY BLUE CHEESEBURGER...yummmmmmmm This Niman Ranch grass-fed burger (which ALL cows should be!) is excellent with blue cheese, bacon, mixed greens, and their house spread. That was all I needed to be satisfied! I see why this is one of their best sellers. It's a quarter pound burger so don't freak out like this dude who I overheard saying, "What???? This is $5??? This is so small??? This is it??? They have bigger burgers at Burger KIng!" And he went on and onnnnnnnnn. Duuuuuuuude...this burger is waaaaaayyyyyy better than a burger at Burger King! And if you're still hungry you can try the other things this truck has to offer, like their Mini "UFC" Club ($5) with crispy chicken and bacon is really good too. It doesn't compare to the blue cheeseburger, though. I also had their Chipotle Cheeseburger ($5) and it was too spicy for me. Their menu changes all the time but I hope they always have the Baby Blue Cheese Burger cuz I want to have that again and again!

Menu for Feb 2011

Don't let the name of the truck fool you. It's derived from the Eat On Mondays pop up that happens at Cafe Yulong in Mtn View on the day it's closed. In addition to the Monday pop up, EOM has gone mobile and the truck is active within the last week. They've hit Yahoo and Conceptus recently but hopefully they expand into more locales. The menu which changes monthly was recently as follows for Feb: Hot Dogs and Sandwiches come w/ a side of Homestyle Beef Short Rib+Tomato soup "J-Town" Dog $5.50 Curry Chili Dog $6 Veggie "J-Town" Dog $5.50 Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich $8 Roasted 9 Spice Pork Loin Sandwich $8 French Fries $2 They're going to various buns as Im told for March 2011. I've now had the soup, both dogs, and both sandwiches over various visits to the shop and truck, so I guess that makes me a dirty EOM groupie now. They make awesome food and are some of the coolest people you'll meet. Get out there and try their grub!

UFC!!!! Ultimate Food Coma.... because that's what happens after eating a whole Ultimate Fried Chicken Club with bacon! :D If it's your first time eating at Eat On Monday, I highly recommend their UFC ($9.50). I'm sure you're thinking... "A sandwich for $10??? This better be freakin' amazing!" It's a HUGE sandwich! I'm sure you could finish it in one sitting because I did and then I had food coma for the remainder of the day at work! lol The UFC has a giant buttermilk fried chicken with maple glazed bacon, lettuce, tomato, and house spread on this crunchy baguette! YUM! Everything on their menu looks delicious! You'll want to order one of everything! Their menu is constantly changing so I recommend following them on twitter for updates on what they're serving up! Aside from the famous UFC Club, I heard they sometimes sell chicken wings, tacos, five spice pork sandwiches, bao, and more! I can't wait to come back and try their daikon cakes and chipotle burgers! Yay! I'm a fan! TIPS - Follow them on twitter for current menu and location updates - Get in line early (5-10mins) - Bring cash (or credit cards with $10+ purchase) I REALLY WISHED.... - They updated their menu each day earlier than 30 mins before opening (like the evening before) - Accept credit cards with any purchase https://twitter.com/EatOnMonday

Fries had good seasoning.
Veronica K.

My sis in law told me about it, my Yelp friend wrote prolific reviews about it. I was extremely happy and satisfied with my experience. I ordered two spicy UFC chicken sandwiches, two lettuce wrapped UFCs and a tonkatsu sandwich just to try and two orders of fries. It wasn't cheap. 5 sandwiches and two fries for $82 is something to consider for a lunch truck now pop up restaurant in an industrial strip that was not delivered. I picked it up. That is the only thing I wanted to inform about- it adds up quickly so just make sure you are ok spending a little more. I don't mind when it comes to food especially food that credible sources vouch for. The chicken was crunchy and seasoned with every bite and it was hearty size wise. The spicy chicken left such a good heat and it wasn't overpowering -spices were spot on. Fries had really good seasoning but they were sorta cold and needed to go into the toaster oven- I live 4.5 mi away from the place and this is NOT a complaint- that is just the reality of potatoes and how they behave after being fried and put into a box to steam up for 15 min. The chicken and tonkatsu sandwiches, however, completely retained the crunch and texture. The bread for the tonkatsu was so darn cute-sliced open like a pocket and edges cut off- the pickled veggies they top it with was fresh and had refreshing flavor and texture between the bread and crispy tonaktsu layer. My lettuce wrapped UFC impressed me not just with flavor and portion. It held together after every single bite- other lettuce wrapped burgers are a hot mess with hands completely drenched in sauce and i have to reassemble the mayo mustard catsupy mess and eventually eat it with a fork and knife- thank u for choosing lettuce leaves that actually help hold it together so it can be eaten as a handheld sandwich. I wanted to try their beef burger but it won't be avail for another week or two. One last comment which just sealed the deal was how polite and nice Carol is. She was extremely responsive when I thought the payment glitched out and she texted me back asap and helped sort it out. She was very sweet and even offered to text me to let me know when the burger is avail lol- very kind and sweet when I picked up the food. I bought four desserts, too- but I think they're from a diff company but yah, they're bomb. I am going to recommend this place to all my friends and try my best to see them thru this hot mess of a pandemic by supporting them. Thank you, EOM team.

fried calamari tacos: very good. $3.

The calamari tacos were great: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/M4u2h2lfTIXUUWV3xZzVKA?select=gSUqIBFYGJSyMgF62uQorg Almost good enough to be worth a trip. The UFC club (ultimate fried chicken) was OK: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/M4u2h2lfTIXUUWV3xZzVKA?select=fcp83kAWasVt8to-05fRlw I was OK, but it did not live up to the hype. Not worth a trip. Wouldn't you know it, I forgot to bring a lunch to work. Luckily, Eat on Monday was there to solve all of my problems without having to walk a mile to the nearest decent eatery. My boss and I cruised across the lot to check it out. I ordered the "UFC" Club, which was basically a $9 spicy chicken club sandwich. Despite the high prices, I was actually pretty happy with the size and flavors of the sandwich. I'd say that the only thing it really needed was more fat. A little more mayo or a slice of cheese would have really brought it all together for me. For an extra $2, the fries were kinda wimpy so I skipped on those this visit. Service was reasonably quick considering that the line was crazy long. Luckily, they even accept credit cards so if you're low on cash, you're all taken care of. It's a food truck...outside...so your dog is welcome to join you if you happen to have them at work. Overall, not bad though I'd skip the wimpy fries next time. Food: 7/10 Service: 8/10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 8/10

UFC no tomato

EOM is one of my favorite Bay Area food trucks. UFC is delicious: the crispy crust on the fried chicken cutlet and the Acme roll make this sandwich great. The Chipotle Burger and Bleu Cheese Burger are solid picks too. Quality beef and nicely cooked so the patty is juicy.

Tried their cheeseburger and fries. Nimen Ranch beef served here. I had high hopes after reading the other reviews, Unfortunately, the burger was just OK. There wasn't much flavor in the meat. The salted fries were tasty, fresh, and hot though! Reminded me of McDonalds'. My friends tried their chicken sandwich and pull pork. They both loved it so Ill try those next time.

Chipotle Cheeseburger = win win

Food trucks are yay or nay for me. Most of the time they are simply too far away for me and with other constraints at play, usually grab something closer to home. Second, the majority of the burger trucks I've sampled are cooked way too well for me since mine have to be medium rare. I blame the thin patties as well as other possible factors because it is a truck and not a full kitchen. Boy was I wrong. I had one of the juiciest burgers in a long time and it came from Eat On Monday. What a surprise. The menu is simple: burgers (with the exception of the Fried Chicken Club (UFC), Pulled Pork Sandwich, and Veggie Burger) and fries. There are no distractions, no fluff, nothing. Burgers presented were: -Bacon Blue Cheese Burger -Classic Cheese Burger -Chipotle Cheeseburger I ordered the Chipotle Cheeseburger : local grass fed beef, cheddar cheese, spicy chipotle sauce, caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, and an Acme bun. SF/Berkeley love their Acme bread so the minute I saw that, I knew what I was in for: amazingness. After waiting only about 5 minutes, my burger was done. When I opened the container, was wowed by the sight. It was the perfect burger. Juicy looking, melted cheese swirling with the chipotle sauce and the caramelized onions + gravity coaxed it over the side of the patty. It was also done perfectly medium rare. The fusion of all the ingredients created a pretty damn good burger and I'm also happy to report that my fingers were all messy, so make sure you grab a few napkins. A burger that doesn't leave a mess is not my kind of burger. We also ordered the plain french fries with sea salt and the spiced fries. Try them both. You will not be disappointed. Now for a milkshake................... Good burgers, good fries, and a great staff/operation that checks you in/out with no issues. Bravo!

Best Chicken Sandwich Ever!

You have never had a chicken sandwich unless you've had it at Eat On Monday. Don't worry, you can have it on other days, too. It's like Abbott and Costello when I tell people where I'm eating. Co-worker: So, where are you eating for lunch today, Jamie? Me: Eat On Monday Co-worker: But, it's Tuesday. Me: Yeah, I know. The truck is called Eat On Monday Co-worker: But, it's Tuesday. Me: It's just the name of the truck. That's all. They serve every day. Co-worker: Is there an Eat On Tuesday? Me: .....I need to find a new job........ While this truck has some delicious burgers and sandwiches, the go-to item is the UFC Club. It's basically a chicken sandwich on steroids and went to the gym 6 days a week. It also did crossfit and was training for the Disney Marathon. Ok, you get the idea. But, if not, it's buttermilk fried chicken with maple glazed, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and house spread all on an ACME roll. It may not sound like much, but when you bite into it, you will know exactly what I'm talking about. The chicken is crunchy, the bacon is sweet and pairs well with the savoriness of the chicken and house spread. The lettuce and tomato give it a freshness and crunch. Also, the bread can't be overlooked as it is soft and makes your sandwich easy to eat. Like I said, I have had their burgers and other sandwiches before and they are all delicious! But, whenever I go here, I always go with the UFC. The guys and girls on the truck are pretty cool. The schedule is posted every week, usually on Mondays. They do a ton of catering, so unfortunately, they are not available publicly every day. Make sure to follow them on social media, too, because sometimes they might plan to be somewhere, but have to cancel due to a catering event. TLDR: Get the UFC Club....... even on Tuesdays.

-Spicy UFC Club: 10/10. The sweetness of the bacon adds a nice touch to the sandwich; bread is wonderful too.

What happened to the chicken sandwiches?

Hi, Peter. Thank you for your message. We still have them in the menu, however we’ve temporarily put our weekend public services on hold. We’ve had to prioritize our weekday services due to staffing shortages and hope to be back soon. Thank you…

The Creamy Cheesy Cucumber Bites were the star of the menu--they were incredibly refreshing, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Everyone kept asking where they were from! The Mix Veg Pakoda was crispy and delicious, the Paneer Afghani was rich, soft, and full of flavor, and the Veg Kolhapuri had just the right amount of spice.
