Now, I used to live in West Kensington (a decade ago), and I don't recall if this is the same Thai restaurant that I used to frequent -- but I popped in here last week while I was in the neighborhood again and was very pleased. Since I was a party of one, I placed my order online for pick up. It was ready in about 12 minutes -- fantastic! I ordered the chicken pad see eew, and it was delicious! Portion size was also very generous. I ate probably 3/4 (I was quite hungry), but was able to have the last quarter for lunch the next day. It held up great, too! Place was right across our Airbnb so we had to try this for take-away (although you can certainly eat inside). Got a bunch of dishes to share that came out fast -- 15min after we called our order in. 1. Corn Fritters - 4 nice ones in size, crunchy batter, but they did hide Coriander Leaves inside and I am allergic (wasn't listed on the menu). 8/10 2. Chicken Wings. - good, very crunchy thick batter with tangy sauce 7/10 3. #26 Soba Pad Pong Kari - noodles with shrimp and onions - bit different but we scarfed it down. 8/10 4. Yellow Chix Curry - nice sauce, white meat chix. Lots of rice. 8/10 5. Chicken and Pork skewers. Chix one was tender with amazing peanut sauce -- pork one a bit dry -- maybe because I ordered at 2pm after lunch hous? The owner was very friendly and hospitable. I couldn't decide between the hot tea flavors, so he suggested I mix them all together. It was a delicious idea! He also suggested the soup; it was full of flavor and had a generous amount of large shrimp in it. I basically let him pick out everything for me and he did not disappoint! read more

A different kind of Thai from what I am used to but it was overall pretty good. Eat-Aroi Cafe specializes in what is known as Thai street food. The equivalent of pineapple fried rice, my personal Thai standard bearer, was good, not great. It could have used a little more flair and flavor. What WAS great: the Kao gaeng Kiew waan. They advertise it as "the most popular green chicken curry outside of Thailand" and I believe them! It was a unique flavor I don't think I have had before. I finished it wanting a lot more. The chicken satay was good with a flavorful peanut sauce. I would have preferred a more tender and softer chicken, but that's my personal preference. If you like your chicken a bit firmer, this is for you. My daughter couldn't get enough. The pad thai, my wife's Thai food standard bearer, was excellent. Enjoy! read more

The food was pretty good here. We got the pad see eww and seafood something, I can't remember. It was about 3 months ago when we came here. The food was memorable enough for me to remember that their pad see eww was good. They provided us with decent sized portions. The food tasted yummy. The one thing that I was a little annoyed about was that they served the guy who ordered after us first. They brought his take out first before they brought our's. I don't know if it was because we ordered two items or because he was a regular customer but I think you should do it in a line order style. The person who orders first should be given their food first rather than have to wait for the guy who came 5 min after. This is just a minor sore point but aside from that, pretty decent food. read more

Cash only! A review from a tourist perspective. We had a group of 5 on a Tuesday evening. No wait, but had to sit at the community table. They are not set up for groups larger than 4. It looks like a neighborhood place. Rather small in space, but worth a try. Our food was delicious! The waitstaff was attentive, but did not hover. Food was out within 10 minutes of ordering. All of us thought the place was a great find and a short walk from the hotel (Ibis). Prices were between 8 and 12 pounds per entree. I had dinner here with 1 other person on a Thursday night. Neither of us realized it was cash only until we got there (we came here on a whim), but thankfully the cash only notice was pretty prominently displayed and there was an ATM just a few feet away. It was pretty empty when we arrived at around 6:30, but it got busy about an hour later and people were starting to need to wait for tables (it's a small restaurant). Everything I had was well made and delicious. I ordered a chrysanthemum herbal iced tea, chicken pad thai, and the coconut ice cream with sticky rice sundae for dessert. The iced tea was sweet and had a pleasant fragrant note--a bit perfume-y, but in a good way. My pad thai was tasty and a very generous portion. The dessert was well presented and I liked the contrast between the hot sticky rice and the ice cream. My friend got the massaman curry and really enjoyed it; note the rice comes separate. A few people around us ordered hot teas and they came with a cute pot of honey. The service was a bit slow for my liking, but it was probably because they got so busy when we were about to leave. It took us a few tries to get the bill. The food was pretty reasonably priced; our total order came out to be about £35, including 2 entrées, the side order of rice, my iced tea and dessert, and a beer. We had 3 different Thai place when we visited London and I ought to say that this beats all of them. Friendly service Very clean Large portions Fair price. We had the po tak which is a sour soup- very flavorful with a little kick of spice. Thai street lemongrass chicken - something I haven't taste in a Thai restaurant but I'm glad I got it. It really help to cut down the sourness of the soups. Another item we ordered was bbq pork on a stick which pairs well with everything we ordered. I must say great food and great service. Glad to see this newcomer to West Kensington. It's a newly opened thai "street food" restaurant with new management, decor and menu, on the site of an older thai restaurant. This new place is better in terms of style - what's I'd call modern library chic, and cooking. While a little more expensive, the quality of the food makes it still very good value for money. Using pad thai as a benchmark, at £7.95, you can easily compare it to your local. Together this new thai place, and the nearby Best Mangal are setting the bar for West Kensington. Eat Aroi Thai has a modern clean style, with grey tones, a chandelier and plenty of lighting. Seating options include booths, tables and a raised seating bar in the center. For our first foray we did takeaway, which was hot and ready in about 20 mins. It wasn't quite ready when I got there, but the staff was very kind and offered me a seat and a glass of fragrant tea whilst I waited. We chose standards for this first visit as we weren't sure what to expect. Thai fish cakes, spring rolls and satay made up our starters and pad thai with chicken and pad keemao were our tasty mains. I see quite a few items I'm keen to try next time, including some from the street food section I'm unfamiliar with. I am kind of sad they don't have glass noodle salad on the menu but there is still plenty to choose from. We'll definitely be back, and would recommend it as a a tasty night out. No need to travel to Addie's Thai in Earls' Court anymore. read more

Tonight my friend surprised me with this authentic Thai street food restaurant.. What can I say?It was amazing! You can see how good the food looks, it tasted even better! The taste brought me back to my trips I had in Thailand.. This restaurant made me relive many happy memories. The most authentic and delicious Thai restaurant I ever ate at in the UK. Please go here! Honestly, I have not found a Thai restaurant better than this one in the UK. Overall I give this restaurant a 9/10 (I wish there was Mango Sticky Rice on the menu!). The food was okay, not the greatest - my spring rolls were very hard and crackerish (if that's a word) and the seafood noodle soup was over cooked, both the squid and prawns were extremely rubbery. The Green chicken curry was nice although a basic Thai dish from a Thai restaurant shouldn't fail. Maybe I'm just a critic, I would certainly give this place another go - it's much better than the commercial fish oil base Thai food being served in Latymers Hammersmith and a similar in price. read more

As I live nearby, this is an easy take away option, which I have done twice now. I have tried a variety of dishes and most have been quite tasty. My favourite are the fish cakes, which have loads of flavour and the dipping sauce compliments them well. I also enjoy their Thai iced tea, generous size and cute handle for take away. Some of the dishes were just mediocre, such as the crispy noodles with brown gravy, chicken and vegetables. It's a bit plain, so you will need to add spice. The noodles are more like a salad topping, so I suggest going with the Pad Thai or Pad See Ew, both are good but not amazing. My partner enjoys the sweet corn fritters. I would recommend asking for extra spice if you like your food on the spicy side as they tend to go mild. Fried rice is good and so is the curry. Overall it's a great value and by the looks of it, the restaurant is clean and modern. Service is average but again, I prefer the take away. Note: Currently, no delivery is available. read more

When I saw khao soi on the menu, I was sold! It's rare that I see it in Thai restaurants these days, so I couldn't pass up this chance. It was tasty and satisfying, but I would have liked it a little less sweet and with more pickled cabbage. My parents and I also shared tom yum goong, which looked like only a few button mushrooms cut up in broth but the taste was excellent and there were some prawns at the bottom of the bowl. I also couldn't resist trying the deep-fried soft shell crab. The batter was perfectly crispy and seasoned well. The garlic chips that came with it were a little bitter but you can just leave those. read more

We went for lunch and left feeling absolutely delighted. We had spring rolls and skewers for starter, then pad kee maw and pad thai each for main. Everything was on the dot -- fresh and flavourful down to every ingredient. I really enjoyed my pad kee maw in particular -- possibly the best I've had in London. Ambience is very casual and local. Almost reminded me of local spots in Bangkok. Service was good as well. Everything was served promptly, and our waitress was gentle. For a Thai "street-food" type restaurant, Eat Aroi is surely a place to try if you're a fan of the spices. They have different varieties of spices depending on how hot you want your dish. I tried the Paneng chicken with rice; the flavor of the curry was delicious, and it was a decent portion. Very good food! Ive tried the bbq chicken aroi box (for lunch) which came with sticky rice and a delicious papaya salad. Green tea was great! I also tried the green curry with rice for dinner, another day. Very tasty! Good and fragrant and it had a good kick of spice to it, but not overdone. As far as Thai restaurants goes this is one of the best I've been to in a long while. The decor is modern and is clean. It can get claustrophobic when its busy. Its a little expensive, especially in the evenings, after their 'happy hours' and Aroi box meal deals end at 7pm. Also, they're a cash based restaurant, which is bit rich considering they charge a 12.5% service charge too. Staff are friendly enough, but at times, not overly attentive and slow. Overall, food quality makes up for the lackin service. read more

A solid 4.5 stars!!! Came for a quick meal, really enjoyed my time here. Great chilled vibe, casual, but efficient service. I really enjoyed my 1st ever Thai iced tea-wow! Also had fried soft-shelled crab which I found very nice, great garnishes and textures. I had the steamed rice noodles with pork and red curry sauce. Slightly wrongly described in the menu, its more of a saucy fried noodles dish, but delicious all the same, just not as expected. This place is just around the corner from my house, and I've lost count of the number of times I've found myself dropping in on the way home. Their "mee kati ubon" is absolutely delightful, and their thai sweet tea is also great! I think the best thing about this place though is that you can feed 2 people for under 20 quid including a starter. My go-to local Thai, although I haven't been for a while as I'm on a diet! Everything is delicious, especially pork noodle soup and green curry. The manager and staff are lovely and friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere, quick service....they only accept cash though so make sure you bring some with you. My only criticism is that not every table has proper chairs but some have stools (probably to save space) and they which aren't too comfy to sit on as you can't lean back. Totally over priced and terrible quality. The old school thai place that used to be there did the best pad thai this places portion sizes are half the size and double the price (seriously the price has gone from £5.95 to £9.95 and no more complimentary prawn crackers!). On top of that the beef dishes are 50% gristle and virtually inedible. The decor is the only nice thing about the place. read more
