Easyjet Plane at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
    Aaron S.

I've flown with Easyjet on multiple occasions throughout the years including to Madrid, and Amsterdam twice, most recently for my birthday trip last year. Easyjet are a British low-cost airline, they are a familiar brand name across Europe with the bright orange logo and Easy branding now being used for gyms and budget hotels. Easyjet are grouped into the category of low-cost budget airlines, but I find them as more of a middle-of-the-line option, fares are often lower or very similar to other airlines, and they aren't Ryanair cheap. It can be straightforward to get a good deal when using Skyscanner and booking in advance though. Being a "low-cost" airline you can't expect too much, you won't find USB charging on board and their version of "WiFi" only includes access to tracking your flight in real-time, checking out the food/drink menu and playing a select amount of games. Gluten-free food on board is also non-existent. I had an incident in 2014 where I flew with Easyjet as a recently diagnosed Coeliac; the stewardess told me the couscous was gluten-free when it was not. It was a good job I ended up checking the packaging before eating it, or I could have become very sick. Other than this one-off incident, I haven't had any other major issues when flying with Easyjet and while their food options for allergens haven't really improved, I hope their staff training has. One big advantage for me as a regular traveller from Manchester, is that as of October 2024, they use Terminal 1, which is far better than Terminal 3 used by some budget airlines. The seats are no more or less comfortable than any other airline, and as I'm short the leg room isn't a dealbreaker for me. 3* - OK, I wouldn't choose to fly with Easyjet if an alternative was on offer, but as far as airlines go, they aren't too bad.

It is a scam company; they won't return your money if they don't fly because of their reasons not depending on you.

Charged us for 4 hold bags. Then charged us again when we got to the gate. Terrible business practices. Would never recommend!

I've flown Easyjet many times and prefer it over Ryanair (my other go-to cheap airline when I'm bouncing around Europe).

It took 6 weeks to respond to my formal complaint. They acknowledged some of the problems but made no offer of part refund or compensation. Their reps misled me with empty promises and just didn't care about the problems my family experienced. I was both angry and saddened by the behaviour of this company. My partner and baby suffered too. Avoid using this company. By the way if you do want a blanket for your baby on their planes, it'll cost you £5

Richard got 1 free glass of wine I think. Seatback entertainment. Captain announced he was keeping a close eye on the weather for departure from Barbados to Gatwick so at least they're on the ball. Lovely stewardess straightened my collar upon arrival at Gatwick which I thought was a nice touch. Boeing 757 return to Cape Verde Islands not quite as good. Plane cramped (as most charters are). That does not bother me but there was no meal provided for a 6 hour flight which I don't think is all that short-haul. I seem to remember Monarch Airlines providing a complimentary meal for 4 hours 45 minutes to Luxor. Purchased bacon roll on Thomson absolutely dire (much better food on Easyjet). Thomson crew friendly although not the best groomed. I thought some of them looked like they could do with a bit of a shave! We had 2 female pilots over both these trips. I remember the 1980s when I used to fly Britannia Airways as they were back then from Luton Airport. It's a bit of a shame they didn't remain British and fly patriotic colours but instead were taken over by a German company. They've only caused the death of one passenger I believe in modern history and I have no qualms about their safety.

Serving Gatwick, Stansted and Luton, (effectively my worst airport nightmares as far as location goes), I was less than optimistic about EasyBus and my wee-hour journey to a faraway airport. However we were picked up exactly on time before the tube started running on Thursday morning from a clearly marked stop near Baker Street, and then dropped off right outside of our ticketing counter at Stansted Airport in the exact amount of time estimated online. Only good things to report there. Coming home this evening was just as easy and efficient. I must first mention that am as sick as a dog. (Apparently galavanting through Portugal in the cold and miserable rain is not what the doctor ordered for a "relaxing" 4-day weekend. Whoops.) Lucky us, our flight was over 40 minutes early and we breezed through Gatwick Airport, but unlucky me, our bus tickets weren't valid for another two hours. Turns out the fine folks at EasyBus implement an hour grace period on each side of your reservation time, and even if you're waaaaay early or late, they'll squeeze you on the bus if there's an extra seat. My sniffling, coughing, pale face lit up with joy when I actually found some smart customer service in action here in London. Go on, EB! Sure it's double the time, but at a fraction of the price this is definitely a smart (and dare I say, easy) way to get to and from London's most obnoxious airports.

Because it had been delayed more than an hour, the woman at the counter would not accept my bus ticket, insisting that easyBus couldn't be responsible because of course easyBus and easyJet were not the same company... right. Tried to take easyBus from Earl's Court to Gatwick another time in the afternoon. Buses were delayed by over an hour - there was a huge backlog of passengers waiting for a shuttle to the airport. Trip took us 1.5 hours on little country roads, and, guess what, we missed our easyJet flight.

Misrepresented Holiday…read more Unfortunately, I seized upon a travelzoo deal which had a link to a partner company called Super Escapes. I have booked 7 nights for 2 people from 13 to 20 May at the Aqua Hotel Promenade in Pineda de Mar, on the Costa Brava. I should have been suspicious when the consultant after finalising all the details and checking passenger details said she needed to put me through to a supervisor to double check all the details. This is not standard practice as most travel consultants after checking all the details and collecting card payment information confirm the holiday. The so-called "supervisor" named "Janet" was obviously there to "upsell" She persuaded me to change my flight from Vuelling to Easyjet for an extra £75 which I agreed to do as it is a better airline and the departure times were better. I have no problem with this but do object to being lied to about the luggage. She indicated that Vuelling charge £108 for luggage (presumably in the hold) whereas with Easyjet we could each bring a large 10kg cabin bag to be stored in the overhead lockers. Instead, the written confirmation email which only appeard 3 hours after my telephone booking on 20 February shows we only have the free underseat bag which she would have known is far too small to store holiday luggage. Furthermore, she persuaded me to pay an extra £35 for a guaranteed standard room with balcony, minibar and flat screen TV as she indicated if the hotel allocates a room on arrival it could be very basic and not have these facilities. This is a complete lie as all standard rooms have a balcony, minibar and TV. When I tried to ring back to seek clarification they assured me that a service manger would ring me back. This did not happen and when I rang again they simply put the phone down. Eventually, I wrote to them saying that as they had misrepresented several details of my holiday I had no confidence that the rest of the holiday was correctly represented and I wanted a full refund. An agent called "Roy" rang back and simply sent the paperwork from the original email showing I had the free underseat bags with Easyjet. The original confirmation email from "Janet" was only sent at 14:58 pm on 20 February, 3 hours after my telephone booking at 12:31 pm on 20 February with "Janet" so I could not double check or query the luggage with her while on the phone. Furthermore, "Roy" claimed the room guarantee was for a room with a pool view. "Janet" never mentioned a pool or sea view and relied on me being prepared to pay extra to secure a room with a TV, balcony and minibar which is a standard feature in all rooms and did not need to be guaranteed with an extra £35. I have no confidence that my holiday is correctly represented and have asked for a full refund within 7 days but suspect I will have to address this with Mastercard as have no confidence that this company operates in an ethical and honest manner. I see there are other bad reviews and suspect that they work on the principle that frustrated consumers eventually give up.
