After much research I finally ended on EasyClosets.com. The biggest driver was the 3D Design space. It was FAR better than any other website out there. While it took some getting used to, I was able to everything I needed to do. Very clean and intuitive. After a consult with a design expert Patricia, we eliminated some of the unnecessary and excessive shelving. We also changed the depth from 21" to 19", and this ended up saving around $2,000. Material cost seems to be the biggest driver. I finally ordered it after a 20% off promotion came up. It arrived 2.5 weeks later, on 3 pallets. Good thing I had made space in the garage, because they were big and heavy. The boxes were EXTREMELY well packaged. There was no way anything had shifted or had any chance of being damaged. And nothing was! Not a single scratch. Crazy. Though I was left with a TON of recycling. All the materials were well made, solid, and strong. This is not Wayfair or IKEA furniture. The shelving was dense and heavy. There was also more than enough mounting hardware. The instructions, while seemingly sparse, were definitely sufficient. Everything is there, so read and re-read until it makes sense. Most everything went together as planned, and I ran into very few issues. Most issues were because I skipped reading some of the instructions. Like I said, read them all. I was able to do 90% of it myself, with only help from my wife holding shelves in place while I tightened them together. It took about 25 hours to put together, but I'm meticulous. Though I am confident that really anyone can do this themselves. It is that easy. I will be using them again for another closet. Helpful Hints: -Measure your walls from all sides (top bottom front back)! One wall was warped, so it was a very tight fit on one side. Wish I would have measured that before ordering. -Use shims if you're floor mounting, especially if you have carpet. -Use their design consultant. They are free and will ensure your design is correct. -Don't rush it! Everything works as it should, so slow down, get a game plan and execute. There were a couple downsides though but I was able to work around them: 1-Since I was using a floor mounted design on carpet, it was extremely difficult to install the toe boards as the last step. Even with shims under the verticals, I still had to loosen and lift the bottom shelf, then use a rubber mallet to pound it into place. Also, the instructions had the cam lock screw at one hole below the bottom shelf, but it was actually two holes below. After I did that, everything aligned, but I was not able to them cam lock the bottom shelf. It is now used as a secret compartment. (Unexpected bonus!) 2-All the accessories have a standard depth of 14". Since I used the 19" deep panels, I had to drill new 3/8" holes for the EuroScrews to mount into. I had to be extremely careful not to drill through the vertical. It worked out, but I didn't see this listed anywhere in the instructions. 3-The hanging rods mount on the front row of vertical mount holes. While on a 14" deep shelf, this may be OK, on my 19" deep shelf the clothes hung out a good 6-8", leaving almost a foot of dead space between the clothes and the wall. I made a template and drill new 3/8" mounting holes on the vertical centers, so that the clothes hang flush with the front and the wall. No more clothes hanging out! Much cleaner. It would be great to provide that as an option (center hang option), especially on deeper closets. read more

Great product and service! We had been searching for something to redo our closet with since we were on a limited budget when we built the house. The Rubbermade wire closet system was just not cutting it anymore after falling down twice. Do you know what it's like to open your closet and find all of your clothes on the floor? So we began looking and locally we could not find anything that was the quality we wanted without going to an actual cabinet maker. I began searching online and ran across this website and it immediately caught my eye when I could design it myself online to see if it was worth spending anymore time looking at it. Shortly after I saved the design I was working on so I could show my wife later, I received an email from Tracey asking if I needed any help with my design. I told her that I wanted to show this to the boss and that we would go from there. My wife really liked it so we finished designing our closet and then submitted it to see if we made any mistakes. Tracey got back to me early the next day with a couple suggestions and options that she thought would improve our layout and actually saved us a few bucks. We decided to go ahead and order since there was a sale and have it delivered a couple days after Christmas so we wouldn't have all these boxes around during the holiday. The order ships! I got the email that said the order shipped and that it would be there tomorrow. Seriously? 1 day shipping? Ya right. But lo and behold when I get home from work the next day there it is, all 18 boxes sitting on the porch. Now to get it all in the house and inventory, which is great advice just in case something would happen to be missing. But no, everything was there exactly as the invoices said. And great job on the packing, they have this down to a science! Sat down and read through the directions and it all seemed pretty straight foward and figure it would make even more sense once I started installing. Now to get rid of all these boxes and then get the closet ready. We spent quite a while on Friday night cleaning out the closet and just about the time we got everything out, I realized I didn't take a before pic. I suggested to my wife that we put it all back in and I just got that look. So no, there is no before pic. Got al the holes patched and touched up the paint. Ready to install! Good job for Saturday. OK here we go. Started installing about mid morning after running a couple errands and it was slow going at first. Just wanted to double check myself and make sure I didn't screw up the layout and have to take it down and start over. But once you get the track up things really begin to go together quick especially if you have a helper feeding you parts. I don't think the installation could be much easier than it is. Finished up about 6pm and cleaned everything up and started putting the clothes back in. This is just a really nice quality system that changed our cheap closet into a more upscale looking closet that you might see in the higher priced homes. The quality is so much better than the system that I saw at the home improvement stores and not for much more money in the end. I have done numerous projects with EasyClosets. Two bedrooms at my old house, three closets at my brothers house including a monster master closet, and now two bedroom closets at my new house. I have nothing but great things to say about this company. The product quality is excellent and the designers and customer support folks are great and generally easy to reach. When we sold our last house, the buyers could not believe the closets we had installed. It was a great selling point. You do need to carefully read the instructions especially on how to hang the support bar, as its critical to do it right and ensure its fastened to studs or with toggles in the right places. but if you read closely and understand what is being outlined, its not hard to do. Since I have done it before, it was second nature. Once the support bar is hung the closet build goes pretty quickly, you hang the verticals and then lock in the cam shelves. I spent more time ripping out the old crappy closet shelves, spackling and painting than I did installing the EasyClosets closets. Things have improved over the years (not that they were bad to begin with but it shows they are always trying to get better) , such as you don't need to cut the hanging rods to length anymore, they do it for you, and all of the shipping packaging is now fully recyclable. The drawer slides are top notch, as are the drawer boxes. They come prebuilt, which is awesome. One thing I would suggest is that if you need to cut a clearance in the vertical panel because otherwise it would rest on a screw on the track underneath it, that you place something up against the part of the vertical panel that forms the notch so that if the drill skips, it doesn't bounce into the notch and take a hunk out of it. I used a flat metal paint scraper for this purpose and it guarded the notch perfectly from my roaming drill bit and unsteady hand until the bit "took" to the wood. Having EasyClosets suggest something like this in their documentation would be helpful to others, IMO. Another word of advice is to measure, then do it again, and then have someone else check it again, and then ensure that the EasyClosets design reflects those measurements exactly, before you place the order. This includes depth, if you decide to deviate from the standard. My last two closets were challenging, due to weird room dimensions, some customizations made to accommodate them, and some uneven walls. Overall they came out awesome but I did need to call support twice to get some adjustments made and get some parts reshipped due to an incorrect measurement I had made - not my usual M.O., but it happens... EasyClosets did it and did not charge me at all for the additional parts even after I offered to pay for my own mistake! Truly one of the best companies I have done business with, we knew when we moved recently we would be calling EasyClosets soon after. I just ordered my third closet from Easy Closets, and would not keep coming back if I did not think they were so excellent. Here's what I like about them: 1. Their online design tool makes it quite easy to try out different ideas and see what they look like and what they cost. And you can take as much time as you want to think about it, and adjust it as many times as you want with no pressure from anyone. 2. When you think you have it right, by all means let one of their designers review it. I have worked with Scott R. (extension 106) and he has always had some helpful suggestions that are not easy to think of in the design tool. For example, if the end of a unit will be visible as you walk into the closet, they can finish it so that it is solid without all the holes for shelving, and it looks a lot better. Once you start with a designer they will always refer you back to that designer, and I like that. I have gotten to know Scott and recommend him, but based on reviews, all of their designers seem good. 3. Their service is outstanding. For this most recent closet, I'm not sure whether the sierra or chestnut wood colors will go better with our floor, so they are sending actual samples of both before we finalize the order. No charge. Any problems I've had with installation have been taken care of immediately at no charge, even if they were my fault. 4. They custom cut everything for the order, and package it beautifully. Yes, there is a bit of unpacking to do and cardboard to recycle, but the product comes with no damage, and is beautifully labelled so you know what is in each box. 5. Installation is not hard and goes well. I am 78 years old, and am used to assembling knock down products etc., but I'm not a professional installer or contractor. The main thing is to be really careful about getting the metal bar that everything hangs from straight, level, and secured to the wall studs. I've done both closets myself, with no problem. 6. The product is excellent quality and holds up well. The first closet I did was in a custom-built master bedroom, and was 20' long and 8' wide, with doors at both ends of the long wall. We put 5 drawer bureaus at both ends of the long back wall, with hanging units in between. On the near wall we put all shelves, including shoe shelves, wire baskets for hampers, and pull-out poles, called valets, which are great for selecting clothes, or when packing or unpacking. We have used this closet for 6 years and it still looks and functions like new. Everyone goes Wow! when they see it. If you like working out your own design ideas, and are comfortable with straightforward do it yourself installation, or have successfully assembled knock down furniture, I think you will love working with Easy Closets and love the quality, value, and service that they provide. WE LOVE EASY CLOSETS!!!! Looked at every option: California Closets, Container Store's new closet service, etc., and was appalled at the prices (Container Store quoted us over $7k for our little walk-in closet!). Found the Easy Closets website and after playing with the design tool (really fun!) I emailed for pro help and my closet angel, Roz Ross, immediately came to my rescue. In a snap she helped me figure out how to REALLY optimize our closet. She sent out the (many, many) wood/color samples and hardware/special fittings catalog, and then we were ready to order FOR SO MUCH LESS MONEY IT WAS AMAZING. We were expecting to see a somewhat inferior product for the reduced cost, but all the materials were actually nicer than the contractor-created walk-in we had in our last home. Everything was solid, heavy, beautiful and totally top quality (actually looks even better in real life than in the photos, and the photos look darn good). You can install these closets yourself with just regular household tools (you will need a metal hacksaw to cut the metal brackets, but it's not that hard to do). We decided to have our contractor's guys install them for a modest install fee (end product still thousands $$ less than the competitive closet resources), and even though you really should read all directions carefully and follow, step by step, to ensure success (and take your time and allow a weekend day), I'm sure these guys just went for it. Everything turned out beautifully but most importantly, when we did have some shipper damage on a vertical support and also needed to swap out some drawer glides, Roz IMMEDIATELY came to the rescue, had customer service (lovely Debra) call me in mere moments, and shipped out replacement pieces in only two days (from the Midwest, and we are in CA) at no charge. There was not even a brief inquisition--Easy Closets just made sure we had what we needed to complete our job speedily. We are not in our new home yet, but even without paint, carpet, etc, our closets look spectacular and we are marveling at how they take advantage of EVERY square inch of space and are planned specifically for the way WE live, not anyone else. We will post pics as soon as everything is complete and our stuff is in, but in the meantime, if you are looking for the best quality, BEST service, and most realistically priced closet solution on the market, please try this resource for closets, kitchens, pantries, garages, you-name-it. I'm going to start this out by saying I'm a 50 year old female who knows how to hammer a nail and use a drill, but not much else. Bought a new house and decided to do 6 closets all at once ( buy more, save more discount). The price of Easy Closets was a no-brainer compared to other closet companies. I designed some myself, and called and got help with two of them. Everything shipped very fast. I looked at the 68 boxes (yes, really!!) I received for a few weeks before I got up the courage to build one. I've just finished number 4. The first one was the hardest (obviously) but once I did one it was easy to move the others along quickly. My son helped me a a little bit with #1, we built #2 together in one evening, I hired a carpenter for 3 hours to help with #3, and I did #4 all by myself Some things I learned along the way: I wouldn't recommend buying them all at once, or if you do I hope the company can bundle the pieces by closet - I had pieces from 3 closets all in the same box. 4 of the closets are the same color so it was very confusing and I ended up cutting some pieces (to fit for moulding) that I shouldn't have. The design process should take into account moulding, and they should precut those pieces. They recommend you take off any moulding and reattach it in pieces to fit when the closet is built, and I did this with closet 1 and have a big hole to patch. My moulding is 5.5", so it would have been much better if I could put that into the design and they cut it. They had it already cut for shorter moulding. This makes a difference esp if you have hutches- I had a carpenter cut the bottom cam shelves to account for the moulding and it was sooo much easier. Drawers- to level/attach the drawers they recommend using one euro screw and one 5/8" screw. I would recommend using two euro screws, since you put them into predrilled holes, check with the level, and then put in the 5/8" screw. Doing that I had no problems with any of the drawers hitting against each other. Please take this all as constructive criticism, I gave Easy Closets 5 stars because it really is pretty easy, they look great, and it saves me thousands of dollars that I can use towards another project. I have one more closet to do and will definitely use them again. These are just a few things that I think would make it easier for people when installing. Definitely make sure you measure your closet in a couple places/ my walls were not level so it made one closet a challenge in that one shelf is a hair too wide to fit properly. And read the instruction book From cover to cover. A few times. And following the instructions around measuring and marking makes a big difference. Please see two of the finished product read more

We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of our EasyCloset project. We got quotes to have new closets professionally installed and estimate we saved $800 - $1000 dollars ordering direct from EC and installing ourselves. We believe their product is equal to, if not superior to, the ones we were considering. In fact, the EasyCloset system allowed us customization options that either weren't available with the other vendors or would have been an additional cost as a 'custom option'. Roz, our design consultant was awesome! She assisted us with our closet design and made suggestions and improvements to maximize our space and achieve what we were attempting to accomplish with a difficult closet layout. They offer their design services at no additional charge and Roz gave us design tips and helpful install links every step of the way. The results speak for themselves and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and the money we saved. My son and I installed both closets in one weekend. (I prepped and painted the closet the weekend before). Understand that these closet installs require the proper tools and it is very helpful if you are somewhat handy and have tackled small home-improvement projects prior. If you are unsure or overwhelmed, consult a friend or family member with some carpentry or construction knowledge to help. I am not trying to discourage anyone, just make sure your expectations are realistic. I took this on after getting quotes and researching and realizing that this was a project that was within my skill-set (which is amateur/novice). However, I read some reviews that were slightly negative due to install issues they encountered. We encountered many obstacles and installation challenges along the way, which I was able to troubleshoot and overcome by reading the instructions provided and using common-sense. We encountered uneven walls; requiring shims and a combo of dry-wall toggles and stud screws for the hanging track. We had to hang 2 verticals over screws on the track requiring a notch to be drilled into the vertical with a 3/8 bit to allow it to properly seat on the track without damaging the vertical. This was all explained in the instructions on how to do, but some people may be intimidated by this. I also had to adjust (by loosening and re-positioning) a couple of cam shelves and re-tighten so that they properly aligned. We will be using EasyClosets again to put a new closet in my son's room! He enjoyed helping me installing our master closet so much that he can't wait to help me install his! read more

I have installed 5 Easy Closets over the last 2-3 years - 2 simple one wall closet organizers and 3 multi-wall walk in closets; and I am a HUGE fan. From the design process to the packaging to the instructions to the parts to the service to the quality of the final product - they have every process worked out and running smoothly. I love designing my closets using the on line system - I can get exactly the components that I need and in the place where I want them. I once tried to do this at the local hardware store, which has a similar closet system, to check out the price and options - after an hour with the sales guy, we both gave up and he asked me - "what was the name of that site that you were using"? The parts come in an intimidating number of boxes, but the boxes are well labelled and extremely well packed. The engineer in me is really in admiration of whomever designed the packaging. The instructions cover everything in a logical simple fashion and every time I've had a question - it was in the instruction booklet somewhere. The installation is extremely easy - getting the track up level is the hardest part and that is usually more about what is behind the wall of your house than about the track. Once the track is up, the rest usually follows in a straight forward fashion. I am especially impressed by the service. Anthony Ponder is my go-to guy and he is super well informed and has always helped me in a timely and expert way both with design and with install. I have had a few issues where I made mistakes and mis-measured or broke a part and I had new parts, at no cost, shipped to me SO fast that my head was spinning. It kept my project moving along and kept me installing more easy closets :-). Finally, the finished product looks professionally done and of high quality. The oldest closets are holding up very well even to the wear and tear of kids' usage. The value for the money can't be beat. I had an estimate for our first closet from California closets and Easy Closets was half the price and I can't see the difference in the final result PLUS I have the satisfaction of having done it myself. My next project is to install hanging baskets in the laundry room to match the ones in the kids' rooms so that they can swap out their dirty clothes baskets for clean clothes baskets and I can get rid of the plastic baskets on the floor. The online design tool is fantastic, so that you can be sure your closet design gives you just the mix of hanging/shelving/drawers/shoe sections to suit your wardrobe - or whatever you are designing. We did a master closet, laundry room, and mudroom. We had a long design process as we were doing a large house remodel, and I started designing the closets months before ordering. It was easy to tweak the designs as I thought of new things to accommodate, and then again once our spaces were actually built and I had final measurements which were slightly off from the initial expectations. As part of how EasyClosets work you are assigned a design assistant who handles any questions you have and can make suggestions as well. I found this worked well because instead of getting a random person anytime I'd call in, I'd have the same one to talk to and wouldn't need to describe the details of what we were trying to do all over again. This does mean when you call in your assistant might not be immediately available, but she always got quickly back to me. Install was done by our builders, who were very impressed and happy with the directions that came with the closets. They most often install Rubbermaid systems that don't have instructions or labels on the pieces. EasyCloset has every piece labeled and very detailed instructures. It was tedious to open all the boxes and sort through all the parts, but once that was done install was straight-forward and quick. With ordering three systems together, many of the pieces were mixed together and all the hardware comes mixed in one box. Because each of our systems was a different color it was especially easy to separate the parts, but with the labeling it should be okay even if they weren't. But for anyone else planning to buy multiple systems, keep that in mind; it may be easier to order on separate dates if you have systems all the same color. Our install was done about a month after delivery, and when we found a couple pieces had damage, it was easy to call in and request replacements which are due to arrive in less than a week. No fuss was made or any demand to show proof, and there's no cost to us. Altogether we are very happy. The quality is high - everything is very sturdy and looks good. Pricing is fantastic compared to other closet systems. And customer service is very responsive. read more

I had a great experience with EasyClosets. The online tools are easy to use and really helped me to understand the different options available in the closet design. I loved being able to play with different ideas before settling on a final direction. Once I had gotten the design 80% of the way, I enlisted the help of a designer to help me get it to 100%. My designer, Dimitri, was excellent! He called me within an hour of receiving my request and we talked through my needs and the design I had already saved into the system. He made several recommendations and tweaked the design to deliver the perfect closet. He was super attentive and had made great suggestions. I was very impressed with his high level of service and attentiveness throughout our interaction. I looked at a lot of closet systems from IKEA and ELFA to high-end custom solutions before ultimately deciding to go with EasyClosets. I liked the look of the system and also really appreciated that the pieces could be cut to my exact dimensions so that I could utilize every available inch. I felt that I was able to get the look and flexibility of a custom solution at a price that was lower than anything I had seen in the big box stores. Customer service was also excellent from design help to follow up orders for parts. I do have two cautions for future buyers based on my experience: 1) Make sure you know the EXACT dimensions of your closet before ordering and be aware of any trim that may get in the way of the boards that hang down as part of the system. I took a risk because my closet was being built at the same time I ordered my EasyCloset. Though I thought I had the correct dimensions, I ended up being off by about 1/2 an inch and having a piece of trim that interfered. I had to reorder several pieces and since everything is custom cut, nothing could be refunded. 2) Though the system is marketed as being DIY, it definitely is not an easy installation and requires some level of patience and know-how (and hopefully some power tools). I did most of the installation myself, but thankfully I had contractors on site to help me through some of the more difficult parts. I am fairly certain if I had been on my own I would have thrown in the towel and just hired someone to do the full install for me. read more

I cannot ever remember a more enjoyable, more efficient, pleasurable experience than the one we had with Easy Closets! I was referred to this company by a friend of mine in the construction industry. He uses this company for all of his new construction and renovation projects, and since he specializes in high end, million dollar plus homes to affluent individuals, I followed his advice. My wife and I entered the Easy Closet webpage , began looking at the specs which turned out to very easy to use, especially when we were connected with a wonderful, very knowledgeable and exceptionably pleasant woman named Roz Ross. Roz took us by the hand, answered all questions quickly and helped us create the perfect closet just by providing her with the measurements of our space. Unbelievably, we began the process on a Friday, mulled it over during the weekend, connected with Rox(she provided direct phone and e mail info) on Monday, tweaked it a little with her continued guidance and great suggestions. Unbelievably, we ordered it that Monday, they assembled it on Tuesday in Michigan (made in the USA !) , shipped it on Wednesday, and we received a call from the trucking firm(also a great vendor) that they wanted to deliver it on Friday !!!! Since we were not going to be home on Friday, we mutually arranged for the delivery to be on the following Thursday. Had we been home, the entire process would have been 5 days !!!!!!! The only bump we had was one of the drawers was damaged in the shipping. OK, we thought, this is where we get jerked around, probably have to pay for another drawer, or prove we didn't damage it ourselves....but we called the amazing Roz, she ordered another one, no questions asked (we sent her a picture) after she had already reported it to production....the same day,we heard from a nice, very efficient person, Saray Ortiz, in Customer Service who informed us we would have a new drawer within a couple of days, no charge, even for additional shipping (entire process was free shipping) So. I have typed for too long, my first ever review, but an accurate description of a perfect retail experience orchestrated by Roz and Saray ! After researching various closet organizer systems from different companies I decided to go with Easy Closets because of their great web design tool (head and shoulders above any other I had experimented with), price, and great online reviews. I ordered a fairly large design for a hall closet in my house and when it arrived (free shipping) I could not believe how well packed all the components were. Instructions were clear and installing the closet was indeed easy with the toughest parts of the install being cutting the steel brackets used for mounting the unit and making sure of the locations of the studs in the walls. Yes, that first installation went so well that I ordered units for another 3 closets in my house, one of which was a walkin closet that was 3 units by itself. Dmitri Benos assisted me with this order and was brilliant with his help. Free shipping on 26 boxes of components was quickly handled and now 3 weeks later I have completed all the installs and I cannot be happier with the results. These things really are that good! I found Easy Closets customer service to be one of the best experiences I've ever had with an online retailer. In fact, in this last install I decided I wanted to slightly change the configuration and it would require getting another shelf. I emailed Dmitri and got back email from customer service telling me they would ship the shel to me immediately at no extra cost to me. Wow, that is going the extra mile for something they had every right to charge me for! Are there any cons to my experience? Sure, I had a few but they were all minor in the extreme. My one biggest issue is that the unit material is pressed wood but I can't fault Easy Closets for that. I knew what I was getting when I ordered it and to have gotten solid wood units, which very few organizer companies even sell, would have cost MUCH more. In the end you get what you pay for and what I paid for here was the highest quality you could expect given the budgeting involved. I hope this review helps in others making their own decisions. We have ordered two separate closets from EasyClosets over the course of the last two years, both closets being over $1K, but under $3K. They are FABULOUS! Of course, they are a 'Do It Yourself' assembly and aren't a 'buy and forget' item. If you are a handyish person and have someone to help, then the job shouldn't take more than a couple of days. Our first closet was around $2.5K and was large, a combo of drawers, shelves and hanging. It took us awhile to get the hang of it and to be honest, it did fall of the wall after a few weeks, but that should be attributed to my husband failing to listen to his nagging wife to make sure the support rail was OVERLY supported. It was easy to put back up since the construction was so sturdy that the failure didn't do any damage except to the wall - almost two years later and it is still good! Our second closet was just completed and took us at least 1/2 the time, in part because we are better at the instructions and in part because the parts and instructions from EasyClosets have improved in the past two years. This closet was around $1.5K and could not have been done even from Home Depot for less. We are extremely happy with EasyClosets and their customer service. The price cannot be beat for the quality of construction and the look is very similar to the more expensive California Closet types. However, if you are not a DIY'er or instructions scare you, then you won't be happy with receiving 20+ boxes with varying sizes and hardware - very intimidating. We loved the project and more than that, loved that we could do it in less than a day for about a third of the price of a professional install. I did go with EasyClosets. Zack was my designer. I already kind of knew what I wanted, and he was great at answering all my questions. The boxes were shipped within a week. The arrived by ABF freight. I tipped the guy $20 to put both double sized pallets it in my garage. I then took inventory. I was missing box number 12 of 25 and there were a few pieces that were damaged. I emailed support with the item numbers and pictures. Saray replied apologizing for issue and said the replacement pieces were ordered. I had no trouble with support at all. It was very easy, and they responded almost immediately. The replacement pieces arrived via UPS in about a week. We removed the existing wire shelves in my closet and painted on the 1st weekend. On the second weekend we installed the EasyClosets pieces. Instructions were straightforward and the online videos were helpful. My design was for the floating type (vs the floor type). My closet has carpet and baseboards that I didn't want to remove to accommodate the floor type. We decided to raise it 3 inches higher than the recommended height. I'm glad we did because most of our shirts are only about 1 inched off the floor after we hung them up on the bottom rod of the double-hang sections. Assembling the closet did take all weekend. We were careful to follow the instructions and measure twice. I did have one small issue with a toggle bolt. One of them didn't have the "toggle" piece. The piece that flips perpendicular had come off and the screw holding the steal rail just spun. Never tightened. I had to remove all of the other screws I had already installed to replace that one toggle. So check for the "toggle" piece of the toggle bolt before screwing it into the wall. Overall the installation went well. I consider us relatively handy, so I would rate the job somewhere above easy to about medium difficulty. The quality is nice. The best part about EasyClosets is the online tool. I tried many, many other closet designing websites, but their design tools were either clunky and extremely complicated or they wouldn't let me design the closet exactly as I wanted it. Our walls were irregular, and the EasyCloset software was attentive to that. I'm 19 years old, and I designed and built this closet. And it looks fantastic. I can't stop going in to my parent's closet to admire it, haha. I don't usually write reviews, but I really appreciate EasyClosets, so I'll even make a yelp account for this. EasyClosets called when they saw the design before they shipped it, just to make sure that the clearance we had was exactly what we wanted, because it could have been tight. I knew exactly what I had designed though. It was very nice of them to do that. My family helped with the whole process, which I wouldn't have been able to do by myself. When the parts came, they came all mixed up and in like 20-some different boxes. We sorted them per box and left the labels on the things that came in that box so we could figure out what they were later. Our design had four different walls. We started off with one wall to get the feel for the instructions and the process. The instructions are general for everyone, which was confusing at first. Afterwards, you get the hang of it. At one point, we cut a rail too short and we were low on some screws. We called, and they sent us the parts at no extra cost. We finished building it - it wasn't a walk in the park, but it looks so beautiful. It was exactly what we wanted. At the end, we were even missing some extra L brackets to finish bolting it up to the wall. Again, we called; again, they immediately put in the shipping order. We're so happy with the way it looks.
