Working with easy closets has been an amazing experience. Roz Ross was with us every step of the way and helped us build the closet to perfection . She was patient and made sure she understood our needs before making design recommendations . The laundry required several custom units that she pieced together beautifully. The delivery process was seamless and a couple minor delivery issues were resolved promptly by customer service. Installation steps were detailed, all parts and hardware were labeled clearly. We had 2 systems to install, 50 boxes which took us about 8-10 hours to install so we got the frame stood up in 2 days . We are now working on finishing touches.The materials are good quality and match or beat most competitive offerings. We are occasional DIYers and this worked well for our time and budget. Shaved off a 1/3rd off the cost of Preston closet system from container store. With standard widths we were able to customize a lot of the accessories , we preferred Hafele. Additionally , we had the option to add our own cabinet pulls for drawers and doors. We picked the desert color with matte gold for our master and natural color for the laundry. I ran into EasyClosets last year while remodeling my MT home. I had two walk-closets and a "reach" in closet. Using the self design feature I was able to configure the closet organizer to meet my exact needs and preferences for color, doors, drawers, etc. It was very easy and intuitive to use. The kits showed up within the committed time. Installation was easy for a one person DIY effort, though I do recommend reading the design and installation booklets. While not necessary the online video's had some handy tips to help with the install. So with all that in mind, I installed all three closets in a couple of days. Easy peasy. When I came to the last closet, I realized that there was one drawer misconfigured. That's our of 24 drawers! Reaching out to Patricia was Aquila fix to the problem, and within a week I had my replacement! No questions asked, just a sincere apology. So do check all your boxes against the very detailed parts list to avoid that problem. Overall a great experience, everything fit like a charm and looks spectacular. I created the original designs, and then Anthony corrected any design flaws I had and made great suggestions that have been super useful with the day-to-day use of these systems. The shelf and drawer systems are fantastic. We have an active household, and we use our mudroom dozens of times a day if not more. He was incredibly helpful in customizing the closets, and did not try to upsell us in the way other closet organization sales people did when I was getting quotes. Shipping was very quick and we received our entire order a couple days after ordering. We did have a hiccup putting the first closet together and broke a piece, so I reached out to Dimitri to see if we could purchase a replacement. For these you either need to be extremely handy or have handy man who is willing to install the material. It came in a lot of boxes and the instructions referred us to their site. I did the install by myself, at time a helper would make it easier (like installing the rails). Demo, prep and paint was about 6 hours, and install took about 10 hours. I did a lot of research to balance our hope for a custom look with our budget. EasyClosets turned out to be the absolutely right choice. I went to three different closet companies for this project (two walk in closets) and was able to get an amazing design using EasyClosets' free design tool. When I got stuck, Roz (one of their amazing designers) jumped into my designs and got me all sorted out. She even went the extra mile to get my order processed after hours on her day off. Great experience overall with a few learning lessons. We replaced a small walk in closet with non-floating shelves, clothes hangers and dresser. - Design and ordering: excellent... we were going to have a local handyman come in and he quit before he started when I asked if he had any design sketches. I easily created and played with the layout we wanted with the online tool, then talked with a designer who tweaked a few things - she was outstanding. - Install: I'm not handy and it showed. I made a mistake of .5" on measurement which forced me to reorder some parts (more on that later). If I had measured things accurately, this would have been a snap. The parts provided worked together nicely and only required some cutting because I measured wrong. One note: if you have baseboards or other trim, this can be a little tricky and that's where my install has taken some time (and it's not done yet). A little extra documentation could have been helpful on the trim side of things, but I'm guessing every case is different so take that into consideration. - Product quality: I was happy and surprised with the quality. The drawers were really nicely made and felt really solid. The soft-close rails were easy to install and turned out nicely. The shelves and other materials were heavy and it made a sore afternoon lugging things around. - Installation support: I was really impressed with the support I received. Particularly, Noah was amazing (I think I talked to him twice). He was really helpful reordering a couple parts, but more so he was empathetic about a couple mistakes I made on my part. Parts were shipped out very fast. All in all, I would highly recommend EasyClosets if you don't mind doing a little work. Tip #1 would be make sure to do lots of measurements beforehand... some walls aren't flat I've found out. This is my third time using Easy Closets and each time has been great. I find the online design too so easy and useful, and one of the leading reasons I have come back. This time, however, was a complex closet with a lot of different angles so decided to call in for their free design consultation. And I am so glad I did! Amy saved our necks, pointing out areas where drawers would contend with hanging clothes on the other side, and made very insightful design decisions. She really saved the day! Everything arrived before expected and in perfect condition. The instructions are super easy to follow, though I have an extensive background in DIY projects. The quality is good, but it is MDF so you must take care...it can chip if dropped. Additionally I had to call customer support a couple of times, and each time I felt they clearly understood my needs and were more than helpful. No company can guarantee there to be no issues, but what sets Easy Closets apart a is their customer service. They are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Easy Closets isn't less expensive than other companies. I got estimates from other closet organizer companies and they were comparable, but with Easy Closets you have to install it yourself, and you have to deal with their delivery company (Estes Express). Their service is dismal, at best (read the Estes Express reviews - they have one star). So be prepared to wait all day and then hope and pray they even show up, because I've had two deliveries from easyclosets via Estes Express and both were problematic. After the second one, where they never showed after I waited almost 8 hours, they never called to cancel, they never communicated with me at all, I decided it wasn't worth the headache. It's a shame, because Easy Closets lost a lot of business from me due to their shipping issues. read more

The fit was perfect - not just basic size install with gaps on sides like other companies. All the parts arrived and were marked nicely. One drawer was broken during shipment and we got a replacement really fast. I would recommend them. This is my second purchase and I am very unhappy this time. For some reason my first install went so easy. This time for my 74 inch closet I was sent 2 72" rails....so I need a hacksaw for 2"?? For my $700 designer, custom closet?? This is going terrible and the directions say i need two screws per srud, however the rail design does not allow for it. My $700 closet is sitting in frustrating pieces in my closet... IF YOU DONT DO 74" CLOSETS-- JUST TELL ME. I would have been better off just going with a 72" closet. read more

Very poor directions and the pieces are supposed to be 'custom' built to your dimensions. They send you full length 'standard' rails you must use a hacksaw to cut to the dimensions in the instructions. Since they are cutting the shelves to your design, why would they not pre cut these as well? There are two different instruction books that leave a lot for interpretation. Just completed our second installation using EasyClosets. Was lucky to have Roz assist us with both designs. First one was a small closet that we wanted to make the most possible use of and using their design we just about doubled the space we had available for clothing. Second was a bit larger with a few larger wall units. Have always found them to be extremely responsive and helpful. Their shipping is always really fast, and their quality has been really nice especially if you opt for some of their other finishes. If the shelving and drawers are exposed I would definitely recommend checking their other finish options put. Overall comparing them price wise to other vendors you get much more for your dollar here. And even if you aren't handy and need to hire a handyman to help you out for a few hours or a day you'll still come our on top over other installers. 100% recommend them and should I need additional designs in the future would be back. The best part of the experience was my fabulous Designer Anthony Ponder. He was so patient and knowledgeable and designed the most perfect Master Closet and Pantry for my needs. He designed exactly what I envisioned and couldn't be happier! I finally have my dream closet! Yippee! It took us months to install the systems because my husband said we were going to install but ended up changing his mind. It does look overwhelming when you first get all the pieces delivered but Easy Closets does give you a nice installation guide for your specific design. You do have to study and I recommend watching the videos on their site. If you don't want to struggle with installing it yourself, I highly recommend hiring someone. This company was great to work with. I had them design a pantry for me and I worked with Zack Golin for the design. He presented 3 options and I chose the one I liked best. He was attentive to my questions and understood what I wanted. After receiving the materials, I startEd to install the shelving. I had some questions so I called customer service and spoke to Beth Tyler. She was extremely helpful and kind. My issue was resolved and I moved on with the install. As I was finishing up the last few steps I noticed the drawer I was going to install was warped. I called back, spoke to Beth again and it was no problem to get a replacement drawer. I would like to post an update to my previous review. Allison, Customer Service Manager for Easy Closets, reached out to offer assistance with my issues. As I previously stated, the color I ordered was discontinued. Once I determined I could make a couple of changes and still end up with a closet in the Chateau color (mostly), I worked with Allison to sort out what was needed. Since I had been sent panels in the correct color for 12" drawers, I adjusted my closet plan to have (4) 12" drawers instead of (1) 12" and (4) 8" - if you do the math it's only 4" taller. While a little taller than planned, it is acceptable. And, to address the shelf issue, we requested replacement shelves in Espresso as a contrasting color - using it for shelves only. The hardware was always dark bronze so it came together very well. Allison and Easy Closets were VERY responsive in sending our replacement materials, I believe they shipped in 24hrs! And, to make the process as stress-free as possible, they told me not to worry about shipping any of the extra materials back. Both my original order and my replacement parts showed up in great condition. Well packed and easy to take out of the boxes to count and then put back to store temporarily until use. Regarding the shelf rods (or rails) mentioned by others that need to be cut to size - this is actually very helpful. I, myself, live in an old home and nothing is straight or uniform in size. This means the back of my closet is a hard 1/8" less in width than the front. And I need to install the entire closet before finalizing the rod lengths to be sure they will fit. Being able to 'measure twice and cut once' is great. And the metal isn't very thick so there are a number of saws you can use to cut the metal. Even a reciprocating saw (or 'sawzall') with a metal cutting blade will do the trick. And I am VERY HAPPY with the end result of both closets. After the great support from customer service I am, again, a loyal Easy Closets customer! And, as you can see from the photos, the closet is in use! read more

Lots of disappointments. Poor shipping practices with lots of parts damaged. While company is responsive in sending replacements, even the replacements come damaged. Don't waste your money. From beginning to end is just a confusing process. They hook you in with a "free custom designed closet". Sounds nice right? So you go and take haphazard measurements and shoot off the numbers and get back an actual nice looking design. I went ahead and hit add to cart, thinking someone at some point would confirm everything with me. I will say there is one area in checkout that asks you to confirm your measurements, but it isn't the most clear process and you don't know that you can't make any changes post order because it's all "cut to custom". So when I get an email confirmation that is way more direct and explicit about the inability to make changes, I reach out panicked. To their credit they did accommodate me. Here's the fun part. The pieces arrive, some of them missing and some damaged. It's made out of cheap plywood material too, which is why it dents and chips so easy in transit. The instructions are darn near impossible to follow. In no way is this easy for the price you pay. Hired professional contractors to build it. They even said it was garbage and hard to put together. When they did finish it looks wonky, some of the boards are bent so they curve a bit because they're ill measured. You wouldn't know this part of it either, because they just say to check all materials to ensure nothing is missing. You'll never know things are cut wrong or measured wrong until you start the build process though. Also, my design did not match the build parts I was given. In the design you see way more shelves. In my package it gave me less and the manifest matched. So of course I never thought anything of it because the paperwork matched what was delivered. By the time I realized the pieces and manifest sent didn't actually match the 3D rendering they provided, I was just over it. Don't make the same mistake I did. Find a local contractor to custom build for you. It'll be the same price as Easy Closets without the headache. You can also just install an Ikea closet and also use a hacksaw to "trim to size", same process honestly. My final note: the passive aggressive comments from the owner on all the bad reviews are just disgusting. When I tried to find Google reviews (and couldn't find any..), I saw Yelp saw all the good and bad reviews. I don't doubt some people had good experiences, but it seems that it's a gamble here honestly. Maybe my project was too small for them so they didn't really take time to ensure it was right, who knows. Just really shop around before ordering here, seems to be a major consistency issue from order to order. read more

After a pretty awful experience initially, this company went to great lengths to make sure our problems were rectified. They called to discuss the problem, sent all the correct parts, & gave us a credit for our trouble. They were very apologetic and not at all defensive and it made a bit difference in our experience. The closet looks great! When I checked back to Yelp, I noticed that somehow my initial review had been deleted and I think both the original and the update are valuable. We received multiple wrong items in our shipments and then incorrect items in the replacement shipment. They helped to resolve the problems, but there were a number of challenges along the way. read more

After moving into our fixer Florida house, it was time to start looking at walk in closets. When the old wire shelves came down and new paint and flooring put in, I contacted EasyClosets. We've had their closets and pantries in the past, so there was no reason to look for another closet company. This time around, a walk in closet for myself and another for the spouse. The room off the kitchen that held an old desk, became the pantry. EasyClosets had a lot of options for everything and Dimitri who assisted with design, was very helpful and knowledgeable. During the ordering process, I made a fair amount of changes to the closets and pantry, but he always responded promptly. Our project never got delayed and the closets were finished in a few days. We haven't received the order yet, but I'm sure these are the same quality products as we've had in the past. EasyClosets offers a better value than other closet companies if you're willing to put them together and it's a good way to save. The 20% discount from this order was an added bonus. Honestly the "2" stars were simply because the experience in the design stage was so pleasant and easy. Our designer was awesome, and we were able to easily manipulate the design to suit our needs. However, if I had to base my review only on the installation experience, then they are a firm 1 star. I would also like to point out that we answered their survey and they communicated with us right up to the point where I suggested changes to their installation instructions. No communication after that and never was there any discussion of any kind of compensation or discount, not that I was looking for one anyway. The actual installation went OK only because I'm an engineer and I know how to work my way through bad instructions. We did call the help line, more to clarify that there were no pages missing and to clarify/confirm that there was no correlation between the parts list and the parts listed on the drawings. Their help line person was sympathetic and indicated that she had heard the same concerns from many customers. This fact alone and the fact they've done nothing to fix the situation is a red flag for me. The ridiculous number of inconsistencies in their paperwork made it clear that the average weekend DIYer or 1st timer would have significant issues in the installation process. For example, the drawing indicated a vertical upright but didn't provide a PN for that upright, and this was exacerbated by the fact that there were around 15 vertical uprights of nearly the same size and depth in our kit. Also, the parts list and the design drawings showed different measurements where on one page it was rounded up and another it was exact not to mention that in some cases the dimensions were listed in decimal format and other places they were listed as fractions. Frankly the instructions completely lacked any consistency throughout. Also, nowhere in the paperwork (other than the rail installation) did the instructions say which fasteners to use including not specifying the euro screws in the drawer installation. Again, we were only saved here by my knowledge of fasteners, but a first timer or someone unfamiliar with drawer hardware installation would have been lost. It is highly likely that if we ever recommended this company to a friend or neighbor it would be with a huge disclaimer and suggestion to contract a professional to perform the installation. One final thing is that we are very happy with how our closet looks and, in our opinion, if the company were to fix the installation paperwork issues, I don't see why they wouldn't always receive 10 out of 10 in the future. read more

This was the easiest site to design my closet space! Lou G was my designer, and was very helpful in what I was looking for! I just measured my closet, plugged in the measurements in the website www.easyclosets.com...and started my design. I was able to select the type of wood, accessories and door handles. The price was in my range, so that was great!!! I also love to build things so this is right up my alley on do-it-yourself project. They offer a video that is so easy to follow. I think anyone that can build IKEA furniture can build your dream closet. With the type of material that is offered and the custom I wanted would cost me a fortune! I unknowingly received an incorrect order from Easy Closets and realized something was wrong once I began installing. I contacted customer service and spoke to Beth Tyler, who helped me identify that I had received the wrong closet system. We were in the process of remodeling our bedroom which gave us an opportunity to make our closet larger. When we got the walls up we were ready to finish our dream closet. That's when we found EasyClosets and Anthony Ponder. We found the online tool very helpful and easy to navigate. Once we thought we knew what we wanted Anthony was there to help. He was amazing, he found some overlaps and some concerns within the process. He is extremely knowledgeable and was able to build the EXACT closet we dreamed. I have used EasyClosets multiple times in the past so when I decided to add a reach-in closet in our master bedroom, I went back to them again. They have a very convenient business model and their closets are easier to build than Ikea furniture. I like the design tool, flexibility of options and colors. When I received my order, I realized there were 2 small packs of screws missing, they responded quickly and I was back in business. I even decided to make a small change in design after receiving parts and asked for extra pack of single cam screws and they sent it at no cost. Customer service on the call was very courteous and very responsive by email. I didn't use their free design consultation this time but I also used it in the past and they are very capable and helpful people. I think their prices are very fair as well. I was not going to post but my last lackluster experience speaking with the customer service team prompted. I am allowing for Covid related issues. Pros My initial experience with Anthony assisting with design was good. Helped me fill my space any create a good functional closet design. The pricing is good. As long as you are willing to put in the install, the money spent goes much further than other companies that do the install. My walk-in closet cost me about 4K and was six anywhere else, installed. So I purchased a better unit with more options. Customer service for the most part was good. I had to have them work through parts and delivery issues a few times (which delayed install ...see cons below) and they were warm and courteous as well as prompt in getting things done Quality is good enough. It's covered MDF or particle board. I am sure there may be better custom stuff out there but the closet is nice. Had to add this part. The instructions overall are at first complicated. There are many parts and boxes. Once I got going the set up was easy. This is not a difficult task. It does take patience and some time but is definitely able to be accomplished by someone with little experience. Cons There were missing parts, wrong parts and some scuffed up/ marred parts. (All were replaced by the customer service team). This took much extra time and effort on my part. Slowed my install by several weeks. This probably could have been avoided by better up front quality assurance. Things happen though. Having to deal with customer service over and over again. For the most part they were friendly and got right on the issues I brought up. Then there was a recent call regarding placing the handle on a hamper drawer front. In order to place this last handle, there are no cut outs, instructions or even a video. There is no notice in the instructions that one might use a template which must be purchased. When I called customer service I was received by a cynical agent who I had to prompt for more details regarding what steps to take to rectify the issue. His attitude was less than stellar and I felt unheard. This is not how I wanted to start my day. What's interesting in this interaction is that I have had experience placing drawer fronts and handle without cutouts. I was more interested in knowing if this is a common issue. The answer I got was a grunt over the phone. I asked for specific instructions on how to deal with it and I was told by the customer service rep to go buy a template. I was told to use a level. I asked if I should place the door on a vertical and he said well if that's the way your level works. Why I had to continue to ask questions after requesting a step by step instruction is something I don't understand. Perhaps he was having a bad day or perhaps he is just unpleasant. Either way I can only give 3.5 stars (had to choose 3 or you'd get 3.5) after walking through this experience. I am being objective. I would think twice about a second purchase but would not rule it out. There are a lot of 5 star reviews in the greyed out category that the company will point to. They aren't bad but are unverified. But this review is my experience. And is not based on any other reviews. My purchase came about as the result of dealing with several other companies and me choosing this company from the great customer service that started it all out. You have some work to do to make this better and to have this same customer service right up until the end. read more
