Clearance section was hit or miss and small considering how big the store is. Checkout line had 9 registers but only two cashiers were working. I lucked up and was able to checkout fairly quickly. I noticed the line building to at least ten folk deep. That was my only complaint. Not enough cashiers.

Plus, I'd say they had roughly 60 pairs of shoes to choose from for each males and females, and they have different width sizes for women (ie, bonus for fat feet = wide!). Also had some fancy and cute trouser socks, luggage, and miscellaneous accessories. The store is way out at the BN outlet mall in West Bloomington (where it is now pretty much the only store there), so it's frequently empty. Hopefully it will survive there...

There isn't a very large selection or much inventory, but my wife liked most of the items in the store. Guys - the reason that you should care: the prices are very reasonable. I bought my wife a birthday gift of a pair of boots for $38. I don't think that there were any boots over $45. Most of the clothes that I saw on the rack or folded on tables were between $30-50. One thing to know is that all sales are final, so you might want to make sure that you know your girl's size if you plan to pick something up.

So, if that's what you're looking for, buyer beware. And Karen, it's not legal to sell fake bags. Consigning here is pretty easy and I've had decent success in my items selling. However, if something doesn't sell and you fail to pick it up they will donate it. And they won't give you a reminder call that your consignment is up, so it's on you as the seller to be organized enough to remember that date. I lost a high end piece by not paying attention to my calendar. My fault, I know. But worth pointing out. But I have to say, beyond the clothes or selling process here, the thing that always strikes me the most when I go to Karen's is how grumpy and unfriendly their staff is. It's pretty ridiculous. It's retail. Would it kill these girls to smile and say hello? Apparently it might.
