When I asked for a re-check, it was confirmed that I had been given the wrong prescription and they gave me another one. This time the optician's comment was "This has somebody else's name on it!" I hadn't even noticed that my name was not on the top line! He called the office and they faxed the CORRECT prescription. No one ever reached out to me or offered apologies. The medical staff are fine, but the factory-like atmosphere and indifference to patients has me searching for a new ophthalmologist.

The reason for the poor review goes against the Riverside Hospital where the surgery was performed. During preparation for the surgery, the nurses and aides at the Riverside Hospital push you to get a "little" anesthesia for the surgery to ensure that you're comfortable during the procedure. Now, NO ONE from Cullom & Farah's office talked about anesthesia during the surgery and the need for it, but I thought - hey this is the same stuff you get at a Dentist's office so what's the big deal! Months later, after all the bills were paid by my insurance, I was hit by an additional $1,500 bill by Riverside Hospital! Surely, the staff at Collum and Farah should have been aware of what Riverside Hospital was doing and discussed the need or lack of anesthesia before I had the surgeries!

Every visit I have had here has been absolutely wonderful. I seldom have to wait beyond the scheduled time for my appointment, and, when the appointment does begin, the staff are courteous, caring, and attentive to what I am physically feeling. The women working in the optical division of the Eye Center are nothing short of wonderful, as well (my particular experience has been with Emily, whom I would credit for ensuring that I do not prematurely develop blindness). I tend to be very critical of doctors (medical jargon doesn't impress me, in the words of Julia Sugarbaker), and I've never had anything but wonderful experiences here. If your insurance covers the Eye Center, I would heartily encourage you to go. The facility is lovely and maintained impeccably, and the staff and doctors are a delight.

I went to see Dr. Campbell after he was recommended by my doctor. I was experiencing slight double…read morevision after working in front of my computer for any amount of time. Driving home after a day working in front of the terminal, I would have double vision. This would last for a few hours and disappear. I went to Dr. Campbell's office and the staff was very friendly. I went through a number of tests and at the end of my visit, Dr. Campbell stated that I was suffering from dry eye syndrome. He recommended some drops for me. I took the drops religiously and hope for some relief. I contacted Dr. Campbell again stating that my symptoms have not improved. They recommended me to return to the office for a visit. I went and he suggested that I get a blood test. He said that if it was something else, they could verify it through the lab results. The results came back negative. So I have basically shelled out quite a bit of money for nothing. I received a message that the test were negative. No concern for my constant ailment (which is not a major problem) I picked up a pair of cheaters and am now fine. I do not want to state how much that I had to shell out altogether for zero results.

Their billing practices are flawed. In April of 2025 I tried this practice for an eye exam. They told me I had insurance coverage, which was a pleasant surprise. They collected my $90, and I was on my way. Months later I got a bill for an additional $210 (a violation of the No Surprises Act). I called the office, and the woman I spoke to told me the bill didn't look right, looked really messed up, and she would do some further research and get back to me promptly. I was very happy with how she handled the call, but I never heard back. I've since called on three separate occasions. On one of the occasions, I was told the practice outsources all their billing and they couldn't help me if they wanted to. I asked for a reasonable timeframe to hear back, and the woman told me 48 hours. That was grossly inaccurate. I'd call a fifth time, but this practice has clearly demonstrated that won't be effective. My time is valuable, and 19 weeks after my initial appointment this mess still hasn't been resolved. Perhaps someone will get back to me after reading this review. UPDATE: promptly after I posted this review, Caitlin from the practice called. She was polite, forthright, and literally used the phrase "We take ownership" for the mistakes that happened. Bottom line: these people are human, they made mistakes, and though they took too long to rectify the problem they ultimately made it right. I'll likely be going back to give the practice another try. Genuine, caring in healthcare, and taking responsibility - I have to respect that.

We do have a way to travel to office and with our mother declining health, they have always been understanding of travel and treatment considerations and call and check on her after treatments. The Dr. takes time and answered our questions.They have been even been most flexible with re-scheduling when our mother was sick or in the hospital. We, her children not living in the Williams burg surrounding area for many years now,got turned around and GPS failed us on a resent visit. We called to let office know we were on way and got lost, it was only, the writer, of this review, 2nd time driving the patient to the office. We were really dejected and disappointed the representative answering phone said it was too complicated for her to direct us in, and we would never make appointment time. She further stated harshly it was not her fault that we were lost and GPS did not work. We never implied that it was her fault. We were already flustered that we were lost and running late, then to be spoken to so punitively was overwhelming. Not wanting to upset our elderly patient. We cooperated with request of representative to reschedule appointment. Then the representative irritation transferred through her voice when we could not come when she requested us to come. We have never been treated so severely by a doctor's representative. This person should not be working with ill or elderly patients.

I stopped in at this new place (just opened in Dec 2015, they said) and the young lady put a whole new pair of nosepieces on that were even better than the ones that were on there. She said there was NO CHARGE for that - and that they always do FREE adjustments and repairs there - even thought I hadn't gotten my glasses from there. You gotta love that! Plus they had a TON of frames in their shop....you should check it out - they're right near Menchie's yogurt and Petco...
