Every visit I have had here has been absolutely wonderful. I seldom have to wait beyond the scheduled time for my appointment, and, when the appointment does begin, the staff are courteous, caring, and attentive to what I am physically feeling. The women working in the optical division of the Eye Center are nothing short of wonderful, as well (my particular experience has been with Emily, whom I would credit for ensuring that I do not prematurely develop blindness). I tend to be very critical of doctors (medical jargon doesn't impress me, in the words of Julia Sugarbaker), and I've never had anything but wonderful experiences here. If your insurance covers the Eye Center, I would heartily encourage you to go. The facility is lovely and maintained impeccably, and the staff and doctors are a delight.

My old Eye Doctor back in my hometown only had 1 person working in the office. It always seemed that I was in and out quickly. There are 3 providers that I know of here. I lost count of the number of people working in this business, this just needlessly drives up the cost of care in my opinion. My primary issue is I was careless and let the provider prescribe a contact lens that did not work correctly. I made contact and was told they would order a trial lens and call me back for another fitting That was months ago and I still have not heard back. I'm not going back, and it's a shame because this clinic is almost within walking distance from my home.

I went to see Dr. Campbell after he was recommended by my doctor. I was experiencing slight double…read morevision after working in front of my computer for any amount of time. Driving home after a day working in front of the terminal, I would have double vision. This would last for a few hours and disappear. I went to Dr. Campbell's office and the staff was very friendly. I went through a number of tests and at the end of my visit, Dr. Campbell stated that I was suffering from dry eye syndrome. He recommended some drops for me. I took the drops religiously and hope for some relief. I contacted Dr. Campbell again stating that my symptoms have not improved. They recommended me to return to the office for a visit. I went and he suggested that I get a blood test. He said that if it was something else, they could verify it through the lab results. The results came back negative. So I have basically shelled out quite a bit of money for nothing. I received a message that the test were negative. No concern for my constant ailment (which is not a major problem) I picked up a pair of cheaters and am now fine. I do not want to state how much that I had to shell out altogether for zero results.

When another son (not a current patient) had an eye emergency, they got him in within 15 minutes of my calling, telling me not to worry about giving information over the phone as they could pull it from my other son. Once again the doctor we saw was incredible and ensured my son's vision was not in jeopardy. Recently I went for my own vision -- affected by a dysautonomic disorder and while many other eye doctors have dismissed me over the years, Dr. Pierce knew exactly what I was dealing with, still made sure it wasn't just my eyes and is working with me to to ensure I find a solution for my uncommon situation. Frankly surprised by the negative comments, however most seem to have the same complaint, billing issues, which frankly seem like issues with people not understanding the own coverage or what is and is not in network. I paid $90 for myself and my son at that joint appointment. That's $45 each. I also had every exam in the book as we were trying to ensure it was not a retinal issue or worse. When I've needed anything the women at the front have gone above and beyond. I needed my son's prescription sent to me to order his glasses as I prefer a style provided by an online provider, and since they were on the phone with other patients, I received a text message asking how they could help -- I had the script emailed to me in less than 5 minutes. We have been taking our senior mother to this practice for several years now and have been very…read moresatisfied with treatment and service with regards to condition. We do have a way to travel to office and with our mother declining health, they have always been understanding of travel and treatment considerations and call and check on her after treatments. The Dr. takes time and answered our questions.They have been even been most flexible with re-scheduling when our mother was sick or in the hospital. We, her children not living in the Williams burg surrounding area for many years now,got turned around and GPS failed us on a resent visit. We called to let office know we were on way and got lost, it was only, the writer, of this review, 2nd time driving the patient to the office. We were really dejected and disappointed the representative answering phone said it was too complicated for her to direct us in, and we would never make appointment time. She further stated harshly it was not her fault that we were lost and GPS did not work. We never implied that it was her fault. We were already flustered that we were lost and running late, then to be spoken to so punitively was overwhelming. Not wanting to upset our elderly patient. We cooperated with request of representative to reschedule appointment. Then the representative irritation transferred through her voice when we could not come when she requested us to come. We have never been treated so severely by a doctor's representative. This person should not be working with ill or elderly patients.
