My old Eye Doctor back in my hometown only had 1 person working in the office. It always seemed that I was in and out quickly. There are 3 providers that I know of here. I lost count of the number of people working in this business, this just needlessly drives up the cost of care in my opinion. My primary issue is I was careless and let the provider prescribe a contact lens that did not work correctly. I made contact and was told they would order a trial lens and call me back for another fitting That was months ago and I still have not heard back. I'm not going back, and it's a shame because this clinic is almost within walking distance from my home.

Talked to one person waiting who says the Dr visits are like 5 minutes Saw Dr. Kapoor- very nice and easy to talk to. Listened well to me. Told me the cause of my eye issue, expected progress, and treatment. Felt like that was proper care for what i had, now we see what it does. My visit was 8 minutes, but all the my issues where addressed. so OK Besides the wait issue, seeing Dr Kapoor is hard schedule. Very busy. I do trust him in taking care of my eyes.

Very long wait time, with appointment staff changing times, canceling, providing different doctors…read morethan scheduled, and not seeming to know what's going on from one minute to the next. The care quality is up in the air based on who you see, and what their specialty and experience is for that type of care. One time I went in to have my eye photographed by a large machine and the teenage staff members there seems inexperienced and unable to figure out how to use the machine. One young lady was looking at her phone while eating a bag of chips a few feet away while the teenager male kept pulling my head and trying to position it in different ways and eventually had to ask the teenage young lady to put down the chips and help him try to figure out how to photograph my eye. It took them several times to figure it out. Considering that patients go there for very serious, often life-altering medical conditions that can be life-threatening if not treated properly or cause them to lose sight, it's disheartening and depressing to see teenage staff disorganized, disinterested, and seeming to be out of touch with what they need to be doing or how to schedule simple appointments.

The nurse who checked me in tested my vision by holding up her fingers and asking me to look in different directions. No machines were used to assess the health or vision of my eyes, even though my optometrist had previously detected high pressure multiple times over the last six months. After numbing my eyes, the doctor came in, briefly examined me, and said my eye pressure was normal at 18 in both eyes (which I was very happy and also my optic nerve was fine). Unexpectedly, the doctor made comments about my weight. I explained that my A1C is perfectly normal and that I am comfortable in my size large clothes. I am a big breasted women so he seemed to assume I was overweight based on appearance alone. I did not come for unsolicited opinions about my body. I came for a medical evaluation of my eyes. I stood up for myself and asked him to stop, but he was loud and dismissive throughout the visit. After the appointment, I was shocked to receive a bill for $358. Other ophthalmologists in the area charge around $175 for a comprehensive exam that includes proper machine testing, like at Virginia Eye Consultants. When I contacted the billing department, I was told the wrong billing code might have been submitted but that it could not be changed because doing so would be considered fraud. However, it seems unethical that an incorrect code benefiting the provider financially was submitted in the first place. That's a fraud! I wrote a letter directly to the doctor and gave it to the practice manager, but she repeatedly ignored my follow-up requests. I do not know if the doctor ever saw it, or simply chose not to respond. I do not recommend this practice due to the excessive wait time, the doctor's poor bedside manner, and questionable billing practices.

MY COMPLETE REVIEW: Surgery at Huguenot location smooth but I can also vouch for the complete lack of communication. You can't reach anyone directly after surgery (endless route of ringing back & forth to switchboard) but you can leave one message in general mailbox ( waited forever with no return call more than once). I definitely feel NOW I was not given enough information beforehand regarding the implants + the followup + the results. I can NOT speak for other possible lenses (toric or multifocal) since I previously had lasik and the LALs were my only choice of an upgrade versus standard. Can I say that my vision MIGHT have been the same or better with STANDARD implants? My goal was to eliminate the multiple pairs of readers and see well up close. I should have been told that to see REALLY well up close means ABSOLUTELY NO MID TO FAR RANGE OF VISION AT ALL. I second the lack of communication: for instance, I wasn't told until post op that all my adjustments would be elsewhere with an optometrist at a different- further- location. My postop printed info said to use drops for sev weeks and at followup I was asked if I discontinued them after a week. Everyone had a different take on wearing the goggles. KNOW THAT YOU MUST WEAR THE UV GOGGLES INSIDE AND OUTSIDE while awake. NO STANDARD SUNGLASSES. NO CHEATING. I encountered bigger problems with the communication at the Shortpump branch regarding adjusting my vision (very scary). Their goal is 2 adjustments and 2 lock ins (most everywhere else does 3+ adj or poss more). My honest impression is that THEIR end goal was for me to meet minimal LEGAL driving range-which is only mid range. I was also told that I could keep a spare pair of glasses for driving in my car to read the dash if I got transitions BUT the rx I received was apparently for readers. That will NOT help me see the dash unless I'm parked. Like I said: communication problems. All these weeks of appts are scarce so know your transportation MUST be completely flexible and wait times WILL be lengthy. Also each followup involves major dilation so you really need to have someone drive you. Would I recommend these LAL "upgrades"??? They are VERY pricey and results not NEARLY as adjustable NOR clear as the hype. Forget about test driving your new eyes and fine tuning your vision:( and just pass on these things because from others I've personally talked to, you get same (some better) MID TO FAR vision with standard implants (without doing the four months of 24 hr uv goggles and visits). You will need readers most likely for NEAR vision with standards. Bottom line: I was REALLY hoping for better than the limited vision I now have and I STILL NEED READERS for very closeup (which was my primary goal). Also I might mention I DID opt for mono pre surgery (dominant eye far & other eye near) but now? No more sky watching for my distant eye (blurry stoplights and blurry moon). Close vision IS better than before but still meh (told if I went closer then I would have to "sacrifice" any mid to far range). For VERY close work I DO need readers (eg splinter removal which was my original goal since I do fine artwork, beadwork & jewelry). Night driving? Same or maybe worse than with cataracts-still scared to drive at night. I should mention I'm really having a hard time with constantly dry irritated eyes - which I've SINCE heard is a significant problem with these LAL lenses- specifically if you've ever had a previous problem with dry eyes. Yes. I did. I mentioned that. Nobody said that it would be SO much worse after the LALs. BOTTOM LINE: Can't speak for Toric or Multifocals BUT Personally I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY BENEFITS TO THESE LAL upgrades FOR THE VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY AND TIME INVESTED.
