Oh u mean 5 spice chicken with star anise (Kikkoman orange sauce exists yall) General Tso Chicken, Spicy? Oh u mean 5 spice chicken with star anise (General Tso sauce exists yall just dump in a pot and heat, toss in some chilis for authenticity) Pork spare ribs? Oh u mean 5 spice pork spare ribs with star anise (this would prolly be fine if everything else didn't also taste like 5 spice with star anise) I picked up my order and the ambiance was kinda weird, place has a giant 'No racism tolerated' sign in the front, I guess these folks have had some bad times in recent years. We ordered online, have been customers for years and there has never been a issue leaving the food at the door so i assumed it would be okay, i hopped in the shower and could hear the delivery driver BANGING at my door for a very long time. I literally had soap in my hair and couldn't answer i thought it would be okay like always but they left with the food and blocked my number... i called from a different number and they answered and the driver was rude on the phone and told me to wait out front, then when he was here told us he could hear people inside which i assume was the tv and saw people running up and down the steps, there is no way to see the steps... then told us if there is issues like this again they won't be delivering here again. safe to say i will be taking my business else where, so rude for no reason!! read more

I was craving some Chinese food and decided to order .The man on the phone didn't have the best attitude on the phone but did not penalize the establishment for it .I ordered the sesame chicken and crab ragoons . The meat was very old and dry , you can tell it has not been cooked recently and was just recooked . I could barely enjoy it , and could barely chew it . The rice was perfectly fine and enjoyed it . Same with the sesame chicken , the ragoons were recooked and old, you can tell they were old and it was no cream cheese in the middle .I was truly upset with the food and disappointed because it's the only one relatively close to me . read more

Probably the worst take out experience I've ever had. I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein, and it was literally drenched in grease. The chicken was under-cooked, soggy noodles, sauce tasted weird, just all around awful. Also, the inside of the restaurant didn't look very sanitary. I'm giving them 4/5 because they are the latest restaurant open in frostburg andddddd they deliver. They don't take card for delivery which is kind of inconvenient but their delivery guys are always super friendly. Their chicken is sometimes questionable but like I said there's limited options when it comes to restaurants plus I'm vegan so now I only get veggie lo Mein. also....if you want to order a Chinese donut...they make you order 10. Good basic place for a bite. I am a little jaded as I used to remember this place as an all you can eat buffet which brought in a lot of college kids from Frostburg. The latest they have changed away from the buffet. Still good food and I like the doughnut like desserts to finish off the meal. I would recommend this place to anyone with a little bit of time and adventurous palate. The parking is on the road but I have always been able to find a spot relatively close to the front door. The staff have always been nice and quick, remembering that this is not a fast food stop. I like the locally owned and operated and try to support it. read more

A blessing. As a sweet and sour chicken aficionado I at first was skeptical of the aforementioned dish's sauce--Eastern Express does a more savory and sour sauce than most places. Since, I've scorned all other sweet and sour sauces as indelicate and simple. Lunch portions are ace and Dinner portions can feed two. The dining room is always empty and if you eat in, you're served almost immediately. I've yet to find a better Chinese food joint. read more

Eastern Express is by far the preferred Chinese cuisine of most if not ALL Frostburg State University Students. It is one of two in the town and of five in the surrounding area (excluding Cumberland). The restaurant caters more towards delivery/ pick up orders. In that capacity they surpass all competitors by leaps and bounds. The dine-in experience is less than to be desired with it's dim lighting and dated decor. In my years at Frostburg I only ate in the restaurant once and only saw other patrons eat there one other occasion. Where the restaurant lacks in dining amenities, it makes up with their most notable dish the General Tso's. Its best put this way when dining at other establishments throughout the U.S. with friends we always compare the General Tso's against that of Eastern Express. Eastern Express also, does the little things correctly with their wonderful egg rolls, always steaming hot as well as delicious. *When ordering you must also take into consideration that they only accept cash for deliveries. read more

To be honest I must first reveal my bias. I could eat Chinese food every day, and that's a fact. When I order carry-out I always bring home enough for lunch and/or dinner to last 3 to 5 days. That being said, I must say Eastern Express has met or exceeded my expectations every time, and their prices are good. My only problem is I live in Grantsville which is outside their delivery area. Didn't matter; when I got the craving I'd make the drive anyway. When I found out they'd meet me half way at the Hen House Restaurant on Rt.40 I was elated, and my consumption almost doubled. It's Americanized Chinese food. They deliver really fast. Their food are good to share with friends when you don't feel like cooking.

I love how amazingly fast Eastern Express delivers! We actually clocked them one day....7 minutes... WOW!!! The delivery guys is super friendly and the food is comparable to most chinese food places we've been to. This food is disgusting. I have eaten at this place before a few times and I didn't really mind it as I would be heavily under the influence. I stopped eating from them after one of the delivery people left a message on my phone saying how "I better be at the door when he arrives or I won't eat." Against my better judgement, I ordered from there today, April 28, 2014 a General Tso's Chicken w/ Shrimp Fried Rice. The shrimp wasn't cooked through. The chicken had no sauce on it, the rice was, somehow, overcooked and I ended up throwing up everything within the hour. Save your time and money. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had! I ordered dinner and got it delivered. Once the food arrived I noticed it was wrong. So I called them and told them. The guy told me he would send the correct food back to me but I had to return the food that they gave me. I said no problem. He told me they would have the correct order to me shortly. After that he called me from his cellphone 3 times and I called back and asked who it was as it was a number I didn't know. He told me who it was and asked me if I thought about what I wanted to do. I said I told you I want the correct food. He then told me again that I had to give them back the food I said no problem but what are you going to do with it? He said re sell it. I said you can't do that, that's illegal. He said well that's what we do if you didn't open it then there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. I said but you still can't do that and gave him an example like if I went to McDonald's and they gave me the wrong food then they have to either let me keep it or throw it away. He said well I don't know what they do but I know what we do. He then began to get angry with me and hung up on me. Needless to say my husband took the food back and got a refund. The guy told my husband that I was an "f***ing liar". I will make sure all my friends and family know this and I can assure them I will no longer be back.
