This is what they consider to be chicken karahi

Chicken and kabobs are dry. Overall, the food is pretty inconsistent (sometimes it's okay but other times it's very bad). They also scam you with takeout. Ordered karaihi to go and was given chicken drenched in oil. Super gross! If you tell the chef that there is something wrong with the food he tries to justify his cooking skills by claiming that it's fine. If he does remake something, he acts like he is doing some favor on you. Honestly, feels pretty hostile sometimes. Also, the dine in area seriously lacks cleanliness.

    Nasty potato wedges

I saw someone eating a burger from here so I decided to give it a shot due to the size of the burger...boy did I make a mistake. The burger bun was stale, the meat was dry and over spiced! It costed me $20 for two burgers and two potato wedges and wow I don't mind overpaying but the food should be good. This was a horrible experience and the food was so disgusting I tried to give it to my dog but she wouldn't go near it! The potato wedges were also baked to the point of no return and were so hard. Stick to groceries east west!

This might have been the worse desi boo fay i have had in years. The problem is the average client that eats here is a demanding pakistani pudoo who thinks they are eating and ordering back in the homeland. They shout commands at the kitchen and want to feel important. My guess this is the only place they get recognition, cause They for damn sure don't act this around goray. The chefs and employees are equally symbiotic to this savage behavior and cater to these scumbags, who for sure do not tip at all. It is the most odd cultural experience. And frankly embarrassing. The place is disgusting with unkempt tables and plastic utensils. It is kind of like eating at a failed restaurant on a side of a dirt road. Except this is indoors, and an actual restaurant. I dont know how this place passes any health inspection. The food is stale. The tikka masala had 2 pieces of chicken in it. The chef offered to add moree, but in the 30 minutes I was there no one did a damn thing. There was a decent lookking white lady in and all the employees were on her nuts catering to her. All while the shouting pakistanis walked in yelling commands. Lol The chanay were watery and no flavor. Pass The koftay (meatballs) were molested and taste terrible. The naan was generally unremarkable. Just thick tasteless bread. Eat here if you dare. Extremely subpar food, disgusting physical grounds and terrible culture from the clientelee.

    Backyard buffet?

Disclaimer: This restaurant is attached to a cool looking food store with unique, imported foods, but this review only pertains to the restaurant. For lunch, they have a very simple buffet. There are about 5 entrees, salad, and rice. The rice was clumped together and crunchy, so that was not too appetizing. The lentil and goat was cooked well, but had little flavor. It was spicy enough, but other than "spicy," there was lack of taste. The eggplant dish was very much like a sludge. Perhaps these items were cooked three hours ago, and had been sitting around since then. The chicken curry, to be fair, was quite tasty, and to feel like a buffet, I ate a huge second portion. The freshly baked naan was good, too. I felt like I was at a church picnic, as it was entirely paper plates and plastic sporks. I would return to further check out the awesome market, but I probably would skip the buffet

Always wanted to try this place out and finally got the chance today. First off the people were awesome, the food was delicious, and it had like a inside community family feel to it. Some grows I would say is that I noticed the table was not cleaned up after probably because of the short staff and the naan bread is ok compared to other naan breads I have. The garlic naan was good but still does not compare to other naan breads. I love the Samosa Chaat. Eat it quick before it gets soggy with amazing sauce.

    Chicken Kabob Wrap

I really wanted to like this place because the workers are very nice and accommodating but the food did not wow me. I ordered the chicken kabob wrap with was just meh to me. I wish it had more flavor to it. My coworker ordered the chicken masala plate which she loved and raves about. The restaurant itself has a decent amount of sitting space but the floor were very sticky. I may give them another try if I'm ever in the area.

Pricy chicken masala by itself without rice or nan.
    Alex T.

Came here today afternoon for some chicken masala because i was craving some after i watched the movie called the exotic marigold hotel. Anyways i had to stop by and order a chicken masala take out. I asked how much and was ignored. Then i waited about 5 to 10 mins and it was ready. There were no rice or nan or anything with it. When i pulled out the container it was a small soup container. It cost 9.75 i thought it was pricy but i didn't mind since i was craving really bad. I thought that buffet is way better and cheaper but the quality isn't just the same unless you go there when it first open to get the best quality. lets get to the chicken masala, it was a hands down best taste and texture. Lets start with the sauce it wasn't runny or too thick, it was just perfect. The chicken pieces were bite size and they were made out of white chicken meat. The chicken tasted like it was char grilled before it was simmer and soaked inside the masala sauce. The sauce was so flavorful i was savoring each bite. I can totally taste the herbs that are used inside, even lifting up the lid the aroma went everywhere and smelled up the little area i was in. Anyways i had to rave how yummy it was and i had a major foodgasm.

We'll come back and try out some more things on the menu! Overview This place has been on my list for awhile because the menu is straightforward and relatively inexpensive. We shop at Rancho across the street frequently and it's easy to miss the restaurant if you're not looking for it. You'll need to park on the street if you're picking up an order. Service 5/5 Greeted warmly when we walked in, easy to order, friendly service, and food was ready in ~5 minutes as promised. We didn't have to wait in line. We were able to customize the spice level and sauces when ordering. I always hesitated to order online from their website because it seems like you can't easily customize your spice level or sauces, you can only remove veggies or add assorted extras for an up-charge. Food 4/5 We ordered chicken & rice + 2 falafel for $16.85 (falafel was an extra $1.50) and the takeout box was HEAVY and HOT. We were shocked with how much food we got for the price - we each had our own portion and at least one portion was left over for the next day. Veggies: seemed super fresh! The red onions were quite acrid and overpowering but there weren't too many in the whole mix. Falafel & sauce: the falafel was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had good flavor overall. I love my salt, but the white sauce on the side for the falafel was extra salty and a bit distracting; otherwise, it had decent flavor. Chicken & rice: the chicken was shredded with a tomato-based sauce. It didn't blow me away but it wasn't bad at all! Honestly, I was expecting more seasoning or distinct flavors, so I'm going to assume the spicy sauce (or another one they offer) is the way to go. The rice was perfect - fluffy, not dry, and plentiful. You can get a huge meal for a decent price here which is a big selling point and why I rated it so highly. The only place that beats Halal Shop on value in the neighborhood is down the street at La Esperanza, where you can get a massive albeit simple burrito for a few bucks. I had a tough time deciding between 4 or 5 stars, so I think the things that bump them up are 1) the price for what you get is close to unbeatable 2) restaurant looked super clean and well-maintained 3) service was some of the fastest we've experienced. We'll be back to order a few more things like the Chicken Tikka or a Lamb Gyro. Thanks for reading my review - stay safe out there!

I came in during lunch break at work & I asked the employee what I should get & she recommended the chicken tikka over rice. I also added 1 baklava (so so good) + a canned soda. The wait was -- none, it was quick! Once I found a spot to eat it, I opened up my bag of food, and then that thing was hefty! I opened it up and bam ! The smell just rushed into my nostrils & I got excited. I took bites of the salad first & the salad was fresh and was well dressed. I then grabbed some some chicken & it was the best thing I've ever had. Flavorful, not dry, and the right amount of spice!! And drowning in the good sauce. The rice was also made perfectly, which paired well with the chicken and sauce. 10/10, I would come here again.
