Took almost an hour and was told I was an 'addict' by my anesthesiologist who then peppered me with questions about 40 other drugs, none of which I have taken without a doctors script. Then I was told it was my "loss of control" that was the issue. Funny. I thought my anesthesiologist was an anesthesiologist, not a counselor trained in talk therapy.well he sure diagnosed and belittled me before he gave me WAY TO MUCH medicine and left me unconscious. All I wanted was my anxiety reduced before a procedure where I went under full anesthesia. I DID NOT want, nor did I deserve to be talked to like a was a druggie because I wanted anxiety reduction. 200% inappropriate behavior from some young punk who knows nothing about me or my life. My surgeon was great, the nurses were AWESOME but the anesthesiologist was a complete punk jerk who feels qualified to make judgements about you without knowing anything about you and then telling you what he thinks of you. And on top of that, he's unable to do his job correctly. There is a BIG difference between wanting anxiety reduction and being put unconscious.

Background This is a New Hospital for HonorHealth having purchased it from its previous owner's out of bankruptcy. This purchase and their buying Cigna's East valley EverNorth Care locations allowed them to expand their operations from the West Valley and Scottsdale into the East valley. For me as a Cigna patient for four decades it has turned out to be a great healthcare benefit. Facility 5/5 HonorHealth has made some branding changes since my last visit a few years ago but my exposure to the hospital has been limited to the ER during this visit. Office5/5+ The ER was well staffed during the day shift and my wait time was significantly less that the Banner Baywood I normally utilized. Service 5/5+ After intake Triage, I was moved to an individual room within the ER department. Typical as shown in the picture. After pulling my records directly from my HonorHealth superstition springs PCPs office, the ER Physician ordered a number of tests both labs and CT. A team of ER technicians and nurses came in to do their part of my care. I was extremely impressed with their bedside manner and professionalism. I was regularly updated on status and provided hydration throughout. Overall experience 5/5++ I was extremely impressed with how HonorHealth's ER managed my treatment and visit. Based in my records and care management transition from Cigna to HonorHealth and the MyChart app has translated to better outcomes for my health care needs. Be well my friends-SYOY!

My son was hurting and so sick. The lady next to us was puking from the methadone she received. She was in the ER the night before and back. They were working on checking her in for surgery. I know because I was sitting by here. No privacy of medical information. I also got her pile splatter on my arm. My son had managed to fall asleep in the chair. He has leaned over his arm that had an IV with fluids dripping and started bleeding. When they pulled us back to the last room we were told he had influenza B. I said, so the lady going into surgery was just exposed? And he is hurting. Exposure and health info privacy act violation. The hospital said that all Honor Health hospitals are this way.

Before my son was born, I went through and read a lot of reviews from…read moredifferent hospitals and was nervous about going to Banner Desert - where my OB delivered. I could not have had a more dramatically different experience than what I saw in the reviews - it's safe to say that the management has heard your concerns! We came in at 9:30pm to a very full labor and delivery floor - cancelled the inductions for the day & a woman had been waiting for a delivery room for 7 hours longer than me... Things were not looking too promising. The nurse in triage, Kristy (I hope I'm spelling that right) moved MOUNTAINS for us. She continuously let us know what was going on on the floor and how my labor was progressing. When there was no delivery room available and the nurses were literally spread to their max, she found a way for us to get to a room to help alleviate my pain and welcome my son into the world. I have never felt more looked after than I did with her. Following that, the postpartum ward was delightful! The team that works in there is extremely respectful and caring. Food wise, pretty good! Not the typical icky hospital food that you hear about! If you get the chocolate chip cookie, put it next to a piece of bread for a little bit and it isn't as dry & oh so much more yummy! I hope & pray that everyone gets to have my experience! Even the OB who was on call... I don't know if I would have remotely the same delivery experience if it wasn't for him & his gentle encouragement throughout - you are the best Dr. Canestraro!

Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa Arizona failed my father in every possible way during what would be…read morethe last weeks of his life. My father was admitted on April 16th 2026 with a confirmed cancer diagnosis that had already been documented in his medical records. He sat in that hospital for five days before a single oncologist walked through his door. Five days. When the oncologist finally came on April 21st it was the first time my father had ever seen an oncologist in his entire life. And it happened on the day they were trying to discharge him. The discharge paperwork they tried to send him home with was factually inaccurate. His CT scan performed right there in that building showed possible pancreatitis, bowel wall thickening, gallstones, aggressive malignant ascites, severely elevated bilirubin of 12.80, and compromised kidney function. None of it was on his discharge papers. They listed cirrhosis and noted he should get a blood test to check for liver cancer. He already had confirmed liver cancer. That is not a clerical error. That is negligence. They tried to discharge my father for three to four days before we even had a chance to arrange proper care elsewhere. When we finally had an appointment at City of Hope they discharged him to a hotel because they refused to transfer him directly to the cancer center the way it should have been done for a critically ill cancer patient. When I advocated for my father and asked questions about his care and his inaccurate discharge paperwork they called security on me. Twice. I was not threatening anyone. I was a daughter fighting for her dying father. That is what they called security for. Nurses Kelsey and Ashley were dismissive, cold, and treated my father without dignity or compassion. They did not do their jobs and their lack of care was witnessed by our entire family. The one exception was nurse Merisol who treated my father with the kindness, warmth, and professionalism that every patient deserves. She was the only bright light in an otherwise disgraceful experience. My father came home after leaving this facility and passed away shortly after. He deserved so much better. Every patient who walks through those doors deserves so much better. If the people running this hospital ever have to admit their own parents here I hope they receive the exact same level of care that my father received. Maybe then they will understand what they put our family through. Do not come here unless you have no other choice. And if you do end up here ask for Merisol and pray she is your nurse. This hospital is under investigation and I am pursuing every legal avenue available to me.

We went to Arizona General on Ellsworth and Elliot. From the minute we walked in to register until I left there was pleasant helpful staff. These texts continued throughout my stay in the ED, keeping me up to date on my progress. AND, this morning I received another text offering help to find a PCP and make a follow up appointment!! The Triage team saw me within 20 minutes, and about 10 minutes later I was called back to a room. Dr. Okafor came into the room, listened to my symptoms, and immediately told me he would be ordering a CT scan and blood work. All the tests, blood work, CT scan, were done so quickly, I was truly astonished. Gratefully, nothing was seriously wrong, and I was informed I'd be going home. Karla, RN, explained all my discharge paperwork instructions very clearly, my IV was removed, and we were on our way home. This entire process was so quick and efficient! Nate Price & Courtney Clinton- Two horrible nurses that should NOT be in the healthcare…read moreprofession!!! I am extremely disturbed by the level of care and professionalism we experienced at Dignity Health Hospital. We arrived at the hospital because my husband was experiencing symptoms of a stroke, was in excruciating pain, and could barely walk. When we checked in, staff seemed more concerned about his insurance information than the fact that his blood pressure was extremely high and he was clearly in distress. Eventually a nurse named Nate Price came to take us back. He did not introduce himself, asked if my husband needed a wheelchair even though it was obvious he could barely walk, and no one assisted us. I had to physically help carry my husband into the room myself. Once in the room, Nate took my husband's blood pressure but did not say a single word about the reading. Instead, he looked over and laughed with another staff member, Courtney Clinton, while my husband was clearly in severe pain and I was visibly distressed. The lack of urgency and empathy was extremely upsetting. Nate then left the room without explaining anything. I asked Courtney Clinton what my husband's blood pressure was, and she told me to guess and said she had no idea. She also never introduced herself, never explained what was happening, and continued smirking throughout the interaction. Courtney noticed that my husband already had a bruise from an IV that had been placed earlier that morning. She asked if he had already had an IV, and we told her yes. Despite this, she proceeded to insert another IV into the same arm and same bruised area. When I questioned why she would poke the same arm while he was already in significant pain, she rolled her eyes at me. After we left the hospital, I realized the pharmacy where the prescription had been sent was closed, so I called the hospital to ask if it could be transferred. Nate Price answered the phone. He was extremely rude, placed me on hold, and then came back saying it would take 30 minutes to transfer the prescription. I explained that I was already going through a very difficult situation and asked if he could please mark it urgent because I had to drive 30 minutes to another pharmacy. His response was to yell at me, "Do you want me to send it or not!?" I asked for his name, and he yelled again and then hung up the phone on me. I asked multiple times for his name and he refused to provide it, although I clearly recognized his voice. The lack of compassion, communication, and basic professionalism from these staff members was shocking. When patients come to the ER, they are often scared, vulnerable, and in pain. The behavior we experienced--smirking, laughing, eye-rolling, yelling at a patient's family member, and refusing to communicate basic information--was completely unacceptable. I sincerely hope hospital leadership reviews this situation and addresses the culture of care and professionalism, because no patient or family member should be treated this way while seeking urgent medical help. This is the closest hospital to our neighborhood, but trust we will not be going back!

It was a relief knowing someone was going to address my problem, especially because it was scary! In every hospital you have to be patient to some degree. There are always bumps along the way & you might even interact with a few people with little to no bedside manner & some may seem like they aren't listening. It's up to us to decide if they are important enough to complain about, because sometimes they aren't worth the time. Overall, my experience with 99.5% of the staff at Banner Baywood was great! They listened, they responded & I was treated appropriately. During COVID I personally knew too many people who were treated very inappropriately at several other hospitals in & out of AZ, so I was not so trusting. Banner Baywood gave me renewed hope.
